My brother said he likes it because it's unpretentious and the regulars who frequent the bar are usually locals. He said it's always a good time as the people are cool and the drinks are fantastic. We actually stopped in for a midday cocktail on a Sunday afternoon. There were a few people there but not too many due to the time of day. We sat at the bar and an older gentleman took our order. My brother knew him so they chit chatted for awhile about the comings and goings of other locals. The bar is no frills for sure but I still found it warm and inviting. It had a certain charm to it that I can't really put my finger on. There are pool tables in the rear the bar and an electronic juke box. We played a couple rounds of pool while jamming to some tunes which was a lot of fun. I can't recall the name of the drinks I ordered but they were really good. They were fruity cocktails that the older gentleman mixed. He didn't skip on the alcohol either. We ordered 5 drinks total and the bill was just under $30. My brother told me that some people in the neighborhood look down on Brannan's because it's a dive bar but I had a great time. I didn't find anything wrong with it whatsoever. We loved every single thing. The bangers and mash might have been our favorite, it was super flavorful, and they even included some mustard to go along with it. My husband ate most of it. I noticed a huge difference in her making my drink and the other bartenders who only ask for your order but give no suggestions, do not offer to allow you to sample something on tap, and the potency. I soon realized that I will only recommend this place to others if Laura is the bartender. All the food was solid, not amazing, but good. My dad and brother both really enjoyed their crabcake entrees - so that's what you should be ordering if you pay Koco's a visit. Our server was really great; she was friendly, welcoming, attentive, and fast. She even told us the story of how the bar took on the name 'Koco's'; got to love little connection moments like that. As a con, the kitchen did close at 9ish that Friday so definitely plan to get here on the earlier side if you're looking for a meal. The bar did stay open later than 9p, but most guests and the staff cleaning crew were shutting things down around then. I think it would have felt a little awkward to stay past 9ish. I placed my order on their website (which is powered by Toast) and it was ready perfectly in time with my designated pickup time. My order came out ready and hot and all the pizzas and garlic bread came out great. In retrospect, I don't know that I would've ordered the garlic bread because I was expecting more of a garlic breadstick situation instead of a sauceless cheese pizza, but that's more of my own fault for not looking at any pictures first. All in all, it was a much more positive experience and I appreciate the management for working so hard to fix any road bumps in service.
