The only one worth a damn was the hostess! She was super sweet, our waiter however was a complete jerk. He maybe said two words to us the entire time we were there, and spent all his time in the back cleaning empty tables. He forgot to bring us drinks but walked by us ten times and gave everyone else their drinks and never asked how we were doing. It was just awful and ruined the entire experience. I've been in the restaurant business so I understand if it's busy or whatever but this was just plain rude. My kids and I enjoy coming here, the food is decent for the price... the service is a different story, you're lucky if they even get to you in the first 8 minutes of you sitting down (even during slow times).. we go there often mostly because of the kids and because other chilis are better at costumer service.. this one just happens to be close to our home. read more

I usually go to the one in Streamwood but I was meeting my friends in the Hoffman area... the waitress was slow with getting our drink orders and when my margarita came out I ordered a frozen one.. it was all melted.. Went to chilis today around 1pm it was not busy at all server was nice when she came around, which wasn't that often. Once we finished our chips and salsa she finally came to take our order and realized we had been out of drinks for about 10 minutes. Our food took a long time to come out, like 45 minutes. I am in the industry so I understand when it takes the kitchen a long time but the server never came to apologize or update us on the time. She should have at least acknowledged that we were waiting awhile for our meals. By the time the food came we had filled up on chips so we barely touched our meals. She never asked if things were alright just brought out boxes and the check. On top of that burgers were cold and my chicken sandwich had no flavor at all. I'm new to the area and have to say I do love Chili's but I hope there is another location around because I don't think I will be back to this spot. read more

I will sum it up in 2 words, "Don't bother." There are many better choices, so don't waste your time with this below-average, poorly managed blaaaah kind of place. We were met by our server who clearly had just started her shift and did not want to be there. After our appetizer and drink order, it took her almost 15 minutes to get back to us, without the chips and salsa that we had ordered. The meal progressed just as slowly, and the Cajun Shrimp Pasta I ordered arrived looking thrown together. Not the worst experience every, but when our bills arrived, there was an automatic 18% gratuity added when our group of 5 adults had split bills and 3 children, including 2 kids who didn't order anything. I usually tip well, but I didn't like the fact that it was mandatory. I simply wanted to ask the restaurant's policy and notify the manager, but when I found the salt-and-pepper haired woman, she was curt with me and would not listen to all that I simply wanted to say. She quickly took off the wrong bill from our group so that I could change my tip, but I didn't want to change the tip and I certainly didn't want to change another party's tip. When I informed the manager that I didn't want to change my tip and that this wasn't my bill, she got even more snappy with me and told me to go away and that she would drop my bill off at the table. This was all more than I wanted in the first place and if she had listened, it wouldn't have been a huge hassle at the end of the meal for me or her. Ultimately, the whole experience was dissatisfying and proved that they are just trying to get you in and out without any real service. I will go back to my original observation. Really bad experience ever, service was slow and when food finally arrived was cold and chips were stale. The booth were we got seated was dirty, straw wrappers on the floor, just bad overall. My husband and I brought our two teenage grandkids for dinner last night to the Chili's on Barrington Road. I have to say it was the worst dining experience of our lives. After an hour of waiting the waitress finally brought our order, the restaurant wasn't even busy!! I ordered salmon veggies were cold salmon was dry and over cooked (burnt actuallly). The steak fajita's... overcooked and dry and the veggies (onions, green pepper) weren't even cooked...the little tray with the condimints was warm like it was under heating lamps. My husbands trio was cold...the two little burgers were cold and burnt... The ceasar salad was good. The manager came over after an hour and saw how horrible the food was...I mean it was so so bad...we did not eat any of it and did not pay. How could this food even be served!!! It was a freaking joke!!!! Funny we just read a bad review on this place before we headed out for dinner and thought well maybe it was just a bad day....but I'm telling you it ruined our whole night. You've been warned. The manager has to be incompetent not be aware of what is going on in the kitchen. I use to love Chili's...so dissatisfied!! I don't understand the low reviews. I have ordered take-out and dined at this Chilis many times and have never been disappointed. And, just yesterday I ordered take-out - it was not ready at the pick-up time I requested on-line, so the manager gave it to me for free!! I only had to wait around an extra 5 minutes. I don't know what's going on with this place. Had dinner in the bar area last night, and for the second visit in a row, it was terrible. Luke warm spinach queso dip with an unappetizing film on top, COLD chicken tacos (I mean really cold), and tasteless bacon avocado chicken sandwich. Even the margarita didn't taste right. The only saving grace was the bartender/waitress was friendly, and admitted the kitchen was "slammed." And the manager adjusted our bill. Second time here and the dish I had was the chicken fajitas! The 2 for $20.And Omg, It was so soft and tender topped off with cilantro! It was the best chicken I've ever had! The onions were season to A1. I ate all of it! I will order this again!!! I like Chili's fajitas vs Uncle Julio's. I guess it depends on the dish you order. My first dish here was crappy but this second dish was delicious. I wasn't in the mood to eat out but when I bit that chicken it was heaven! Lets not forget about the onion too! They bring it out on a skillet still sizzling and hot just how I like it! Yummy yum yum. I will definitely go back for this dish again soon! I'm still dreaming of this dish. I have been here for the last time. A Sunday night, not allot of people and the service was awful. Slow and slow can be. Refills on drinks took forever. Appetizer took forever and then the server tried taking it away before we were done. Another long wait for our main course, 20 minutes and the girl brings out 3 meals and only one has fries. Tells us they are making fresh fries in the back. What? so the one fry we got was old? How do you serve the meal without the fries after 20 minutes? Sure she says she is sorry but after that even it was not her fault, a manager should have comped us something for the huge delay and error. A group of us ordered a round of drinks and then our server asked for ID'S. Went to hand her mine and completely got denied for my ID not being horizontal. REALLY? Asked for a manager and he shut me down right away & was very rude about it. My boyfriend ordered another drink for me anyway, I mean what are they going to do, arrest me for being legal? The food is decent for a chain restaurant, and the atmosphere isn't bad either. Our waitress seemed a bit odd...that's the only word I could come up with. An all around negative experience here tonight. When we first arrived, we asked the hostess for a high chair. After being seated, the hostess asked if we wanted a sling and again we had to request a high chair. We were seated close to the To Go entrance, therefore getting a cold draft every time the door opened. Wasn't very happy with that since our child was basically seated in line with that door, getting most of the cold draft. The server took a long time to arrive at our table so we just decided to order all at once after she finally arrived. After getting through the appetizer, we probably waited about 30 minutes for our entrées to arrive. I asked her for 3 waters and we only got 2. My husband had to ask her for a refill on his drink twice before getting it. I had the ribs and salmon combo and it was horrible, I barely ate it. The ribs weren't grilled, like they usually are. It seemed fried with BBQ sauce on top. The salmon was overcooked and just had a bad flavor. My cocktail was watered down. We ended up checking out at our table since our server never came back to check on us or gave us our check. The table next to us complained about their food being dry and the same server not introducing herself. As we were walking out, our server walked by us and didn't even thank us or say a word for that matter. There wasn't a hostess at the front, nor were there any other employees our front as we were leaving. We quickly figured out why it wasn't very busy here for a Friday night, as most Chili's locations are that we've visited in the past. read more

I have never posted a yelp review but I created an account just to rate this terrible restaurant. Chilis at barrington and Higgins rd is the worst chain restaurant there is. I went there with my wife last Friday night. Arrived at 8.45pm, waited for 20mins to be seated, was sat at an open table that was open the entire time we waited. Chair was not cleaned - had to clean it myself. Waitress watched me do it. We ordered $5 margaritas, cups were grossly uneven. Power went out and we were told by our loud unsympathetic waitress that they were shutting the kitchen down and she was getting our checks. By the way we hadn't gotten the entree we ordered. It was 9.30 at this point. Power was out 2mins into the announcement and the kicking out. Wife and I complained to the mgr - he apologized and didn't charge us drinks but said generator didn't work. As we got up to leave power returned (duration wasn't more than 5mins). We had to scramble and find dinner elsewhere. We've had bad service here in the past but came back periodically cos it was a chain and convenient. Never again. Worst experience we've had at a restaurant. Period. read more

Simply superb experience. It's our first time with the kids, after 7ish years. What a difference. They have kiosks on every table with menu , kids games and payments. Food was hot delicious and a huge variety. So many different menu choices. Kids loved it and the adults too. This is the place I want to go back again and try something different which is low calorie for me and still yummy. Kids had lot of choices too. We liked the ambience too. If I could give zero stars, I would. I manage a steakhouse, and even though I realize service standards are not the same, it would be nice if this establishment had any standards at all. Host up front is always on his phone. We waited at least 5 minutes to be greeted. We were seated in probably the loudest area of the restaurant, despite there being plenty of available seating. We waited another 5-10mins to be greeted by our server. Refills were not brought in a timely manner as we were pretty much done with our meal by the time anyone checked on us. Had they asked, I would've pointed out the slimy chicken fingers and dry, overcooked attempt at a cheeseburger. It's nice that they have the little machines at the table so you can pay your bill whenever you want. One small step away from being a totally automated restaurant, which would probably be an improvement. Management presence is totally lacking and I question what these people actually do to earn their paychecks. the General Manager's name, Marissa Ocampo, ie proudly on display when you walk in... I don't see how anyone could be proud enough of this establishment to put their name on it. Came here for a quick meal because my wife is over 7 months pregnant. We have now been here for an hour and a half and we have been waiting for the dessert for about 15-20 mins. I know they don't make anything from scratch here. How hard is it to microwave a cookie and scoop some vanilla ice cream on it? I see PLENTY of employees here, but I think only 1 person is working. Time to close up shop at this location. I recently made a trip to this establishment on a quick bite to eat type of thing. I was left with a very bad taste in my mouth due to the lack of attention to detail by the server (Jessica ) and even more dissatisfied with the food that was served. To start things out I ordered a water with lemon. Lemons that I never received by the way. I didn't bother about it because I figured she forgot about it, or it was over looked. It wasn't that big of a deal. I order a sunrise grass fed burger which comes with an over easy egg and pepper jack cheese. When I placed my order I clearly said I wanted the temperature of my burger to be at a medium rare. Once I received my food I had an over hard cooked egg on my burger and I quickly let my server know. Of course the person I was with had to eat their food while I watched so it wouldn't die on the plate. When the server finally did bring my entree it was an over easy egg but the burger was dry and over cooked. Over all I'm very dissatisfied with my whole experience and find it difficult to even give this restaurant one star. I definitely will not be returning. read more

The floors in the dining area aren't much better. They had a manager on duty but he seemed ambivalent about the conditions and appearance. Stopped in for food tonight with my family. Our server was Rebecca. Very nice lady and deff will be back for her service. However my only complaint was when walking to the restrooms I saw alot of the servers just standing around in the kitchen talking and playing with their phones.Even the togo girl was non stop at the register with her phone. Also the look of servers has gone down the drain too ( untucked shirts and not clean cut) No issues with our server but the appearence of others was kinda a turn off. read more
