We had Chili's this afternoon for a late lunch/ early dinner. It's been a while since we have eaten here (no particular reason why) and today's visit was incredible. Jaylin was our super-awesome and very attentive waitress. We stared off with the chips and salsa appetizer (all you can eat). The chips were thin and fresh and the salsa was very full of flavor. (You can get this appetizer free if you sign up on the kiosk on your table or download the Chili's app -- which we did.) I had the Triple Dipper which is a choice of 3 appetizers. I had the Big Mouth Bites (2 cheeseburger sliders), mozzarella sticks (2 sticks), and the honey-chipotle chicken crispers (3 tenders). The burgers were tasty (but could use a pickle to my personal preference). The chicken tenders were cooked to perfection and the honey-chipotle sauce was very tasty with just a little bit of spice. Then there were the mozzarella sticks. Oh my goodness! First, the stretch of the mozzarella is insane! These things are so tasty that your tongue will fly out of your mouth and slap both of your ears to get every crumb! I can see why this is such a popular stand-alone appetizer! My wife had the Big Crispy chicken sandwich. (Hand-battered crispy chicken, pickles, mayo and a side of house-made ranch. This was served with white cheddar mac & cheese and fries. This was a huge piece of chicken on a very tasty (brioche?) bun. Very tasty. The Mac and cheese steals the show as a side. We requested the fries to be extra crispy, but they came out regular. They would have been much better if they would have left them in the fryer longer. Not crispy at all. (This was the only disappointing part of the meal, but not a deal breaker not to return gain, but crispy fries are always better!) There were quite a few other items that were very tempting including a Chicken Cajun Pasta and quite a few salad options. We will have to try one of these next visit. Lots of great looking dessert options too, but we were too full to consider those! Maybe next time! Food was good, but more importantly, Jessica our waitress was AMAZING. she came by and plopped in the booth with us and started making conversation and asking about our day and all the things. Pick up order for fajitas for 2. Chicken & shrimp. Chicken was cold, dry, old, tough & no taste. Shrimp were tiny with that same chili pepper taste. The veg. were onions and green pepper - ratio 2 whole onions to 1 small green pepper maybe. The Rice was cold, hard and the whole plate taste of the same chili spice. Totally nasty and surely not worth the money. My daughter got Queso and it was thick, old & nasty as well. The blk bean soup was the only decent taste but we don't like blk beans! Chilis must be the place to be on a Saturday evening. After a bit of a wait (~30 min) service was fast and friendly. The food was good though I tried their ribs for the first time. For a restaurant that has an entire marketing campaign around them, they were disappointing as they were very tough. Everything else was the quality expected though. read more

I have been wanting to try this restaurant for months now and every time I was in Lexington something always came up to keep me from being able to eat here. Finally, this past Monday I was able to finally try chili's. The establishment was clean and staff was friendly. Turns out the waitress was actually from my hometown. Price was like any other restaurant. I ordered the triple dipper with the small bites, chicken tenders and mozzarella sticks with the watermelon lemonade to drink. I really liked the lemonade, ended up drinking 2 mugs. I enjoyed the mozzarella sticks, I love cheese and these are the biggest and cheesiest one's I have ever tried. The small bites were delicious and had a great flavor. My least favorite is the chicken tenders. I thought they were ok. Overall I enjoyed eating here. read more

So I was in search of Shark Week promotional food and drink and someone on a facebook post about Shark Week stated that Chili's was having a margarita one. This is when I decided to go to Chili's to check it out. It is described as "...made with Lunazul® Blanco Tequila, Malibu® Coconut Rum, Monin® Blue Raspberry, a float of Monin® Blackberry, and Fresh Sour." When I got there, I was surprised to see that, I think the state of KY, requires one to order a food item with a margarita. Then I started thinking back to my days of going to Taco Tico and they had that same mandate. It is crazy how Rally's and Sonic are not doing anything for Shark Week, since they had drinks in the past. Golden Corral (you can read that review) has gone two for two years of not either serving the drink (last year and it was still during Shark Week, mind you) or being out of the blue raspberry slushie required to make it. Edit: I am now drinking it and it is TASTY. The combination of all the liquor comes off as a sweet, smooth taste. Well done! read more

Chili's is so nostalgic to my upbringing. The triple dipper and the chipotle chicken crispers were always my go to favorites growing up. I haven't been to Chili's in 12+ years and my wife had NEVER been before. So we had to do it. Came in on a Saturday during dinner time and was surprised to be greeted and seated immediately. The restaurant seemed pretty busy and the place seemed to be well staffed. Our server was very attentive and was quick to refill our drinks. Onto the food. The famous Triple Dipper. The Fried Moz was just as perfect as the commercials! Break apart and watch the cheese bridge expand from end to end without breaking. Oh. And pretty tasty too. Who doesn't love fried cheese ? The southwestern eggrolls, to me, were just as good as I remembered. However, the honey chipotle chicken crispers were kind of a let down. I remember these things being huge and crispy but these felt small and lacking batter (from my memory). Still the same great flavor though! Side salad w ranch. Good. Met expectations for a side salad. Solid portion. The Ultimate Smokehouse Combo. Street Corn on the cob / Fries / half rack of baby back ribs / (more) crispy chicken crispers / brisket quesadillas / garlic toast / The good: HUGE portion. Plenty of food to split/share. First time having the brisket quesadillas - DO IT. Delicious and the perfect blend of bbq/brisket/cheese. Toast - random, but very good. The street corn on the cob was also a surprise but pretty tasty too. The alright: the chicken crispers - we got more because I was hoping the entree portion would be bigger than the apps - they weren't. Fries were solid. Nothing special. The bad: the ribs. I have NEVER had their baby back ribs, even with all the song and dance with the commercials and hype, so I decided to try it out. But I will never be getting them again! The ribs were smothered in sauce, which I usually like - it tasted real nice; but the meat tasted overcooked and past its prime. Overall experience was good, but it didn't meet my standards from what I remembered growing up in high school / college. Stopped in today for the often advertised Smash Burger, Fries, Drink, and Chip & Salsa appetizer for $10.99. Ordered, waiter said he'd be right out with the chips and salsa. Waited, waited while he went to take other orders. Waited while he chatted with another table that already had their food. Waited while he got another table refills. Finally, he bought out the Chips & Salsa appetizer. I ate 2 chips and he showed up with my meal. He apologized for bringing the meal so soon, I stated that he should have brought the appetizer 10 minutes earlier. I think there were only two waiters working at a restaurant at lunch hour and our waiter was easily distracted. I rated lunch 3 stars for the food was OUTSTANDING. My mother, daughter, and brother liked there food. The skillet queso is unique to chilis and always the same always good. Unfortunately, I ordered the southwestern egg rolls (via door dash) that are just horrid. I like spinach, it contains spinach the pictures on the menu show a corn and black bean forward "egg roll" That is not the case. It's FILLED with what I can only imagine is super cheap, old, canned spinach. The flavor overpowers all the other ingredients. Including jalapeño and red pepper. I can't even tell that's in there. I had let this restaurant go for several years... the were a darling in the fast casual boom 10 years ago and then kind of fell out of favor. The restaurant is a little dated with the same general décor. But the menu has been updated. I am all about the nachos... they are individual tortilla chips covered in refried beans and cheese. My parents discovered Chili's this past winter while snow birding in Florida, now that they're home they want to eat at any Chili's location at any chance that they can. This is one of the two Lexington Chili's locations and I'll mention that they don't like the other Lexington Chili's location. I can see this location being one of their new hangouts. Dad's favorite items are the bacon burger and the chili. Both are available on the 3 of $10 menu, both for only $10, along with a soda. He insists that Chili's has the best burger. The chili is a pretty big portion, not the usual cup sized option that you find at a lot of places. I joined their eclub and I receive emails from time to time for free items. Regardless if you have an ecoupon or not, they'll give you an order of free chips and salsa. This time, I had an ecoupon for a free appetizer. So, we started with the cheddar cheese bites. They were super seasoned, so if you don't like all things salty, you might not like them. For my entree, I got a lunch chicken fajita meal. For $9 it was a pretty good deal. It's a bummer that you can't get steak fajitas at lunch time though. The chicken was excellent though. The service here was impeccable, which can make or break a first impression, whether the customer loves the food of not. Win/win here! read more

Just to preface- I love chilis, so this post I has nothing to do with the food, ambiance, or usual service I receive when going. I would highly recommend chilis as a great spot for food. Tonight we got to chilis at 8:20-8:30 and our server seemed super sweet. I told her we had one more person meeting us and after taking our order at 8:40 she asked how long until our joiner was going to be here so he could order food because she was "trying to get out of here" . I ended up getting uncomfortable immediately because from that moment on we just felt like we were inconveniencing her even though it is her job. So I told our joiner to not bother coming and got his food togo. Our server aggressively swept all around us while we were eating and asked us about checks as I was actively taking a bite of my food and had over half of my food untouched . As a server myself , I understand how annoying it can be to get a table after being cut and I don't know if that's what happened tonight but the whole experience made me not want to go back to chilis in fear that I will have that same server. Literally insane, I've never had any kind of interaction with a server like the one I had tonight and could not IMAGINE saying that to a customer. read more

After a long drive from Florida we decided to stop here to grab a bite to eat before we checked into our hotel. This is the worst Chili's I have ever been to. The ceiling vent system was dripping into my food so then we got moved to a different table. Our food started to arrive. The Spring rolls side dip, blue cheese was all mouldy. Pretty bad when blue cheese takes 3 to 4 weeks to get mouldy as well as the sour cream. I had my whole family with me including 2 children. I should of known walking in, it did look a little dirty but I didn't want to pre judge. We travel a lot and I should of known better! Please do not eat here. So very upset!!! Same one that saw us enter who immediately turned around and went back into the kitchen then came out in a different area with the broom.
