I was concerned after we decided to have dinner at this location! We happened to be in the village shopping & I looked at my phone, it's 5:35, no wonder I'm starving. Getting back to my concern, after quickly reading some reviews it seemed there maybe a better choice, like tin roof or Brickworks, but we gave it a try. We'll our top sirloins we're just fine, cooked to our liking & the sides were also. My 5 Star review is not so much for getting our orders correct or sitting us right away, etc. it was because the entire staff in our section, come over to our table a minimum of 2 times, some 3 & both managers, we counted 5 times between them. I have never had so many table visits anywhere. Which leaves me to believe, that was the reason we were seated right away and our order was perfect! Love this place & have been to many locations but his one really blew me out of the water! From the phone call to reserving our spot in line to the end when we left, everyone was so nice and a saw a lot of teamwork! Courtney was our server and she was amazing! I've been to several Chili's restaurants, but my experience at the one in Manhattan Beach this past Saturday was the absolute worst. My friend and I waited at the podium for at least 5-7 minutes, and no one came to seat us. So, we decided to go to the bar area where there's usually self seating. We sat in a booth for several minutes without being acknowledged, so we stopped an employee and asked if he knew who our server was. He said he'd get someone to help us, but no one showed up. A few minutes later we asked another employee, and we got the same response. Eventually a young lady came over and told us that we couldn't sit there, because there's no self seating in the bar area and there were seven other parties ahead of us. Mind you, there were several empty booths in the bar area, the other side of the restaurant was almost empty, and from what we saw. there were no other customers waiting. We asked to speak to a manager, who came over with an attitude and told us the same thing the young lady had said. We told him how we waited at the podium for help, but didn't get acknowledged. His reply was that we should've looked for the hostess to get our names put on the list, which is the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard at a restaurant. He went back and forth with us for a couple minutes, ending with, "For future reference, you have to find a hostess and get your name on the list. After that, we decided to leave. I will never visit this particular Chili's ever again. I wish there was an option to give zero stars. read more

Overall, this is a decently ran restaurant. We were here over the weekend and enjoyed our visit to this Chili's. There's plenty of fried food, but if you're not into that, making a good healthy selection can be difficult. The staff works hard to make good suggestions, and our food came out tasting amazing actually. Very happy, just wish there were a few more healthy options on the menu. read more

I couldn't believe this, they had no employees working. 5 couples in line and every table was full of dirty plates. I believe the bus boy was acting as host, greeter server and maybe even the cook. I certainly do not blame the employees it's not their fault but whoever owns this place needs to close it down until they can get staffed. We left just like the other 5 couples. read more

Everytime we go to this Chili's location, we receive the best service. My husband & myself went today for dinner. We were seated in an area where there was a large group. The manager stopped by and she offered us free chips & salsa while we wait for our orders. Our waitress was very nice k knowledgable. She was able to answer all our questions with a smile on her face. Food was good. Restrooms are clean. Great service. Will definitely be stopping back soon!! read more

The waitress could not answer questions about the rewards program, It took awhile to place a order, The waitress never came back to ask if we needed anything, I told another server that we needed to order dessert and go, the mgr walked by and asked do you need anything I stated yes our waitress has never came back to our table we have been waiting to order dessert and we need some to go containers, He was not very attentive either I explained that I have a appointment and needed to leave shortly, he said ok and walked away? Then our waitress shows up and says I put the dessert order in for you and walked away? We waited another 25 minutes for a skillet cookie and ice cream! This is the worse service that I have experienced in this location and I am a regular, I then had to have them adjust my bill due to being charged for the reward item?? My server Megan was nice to me. My foods were delivered quickly and beer, too. My plenti card was keyed after she entered my check info. Customers talked more than customers of other Chili's. The only thing abnormal is their system wasn't normal. Kitchen runner came out to deliver flat bred and returned to kitchen after he asked 4 customers out of 15 at the bar. The customer on my right side heard my suggestion but he didn't ask servers at the bar about his flat bread ordered 20 minutes ago. When in the Los Angeles area I prefer to go to this location than the one that is closer to where I'm visiting (I'll save the bad review for that Chili's). I've visited this particular restaurant three to four times now. Every time I've sat in the bar area and it's never been really crowded. It's a lot quieter than the other Chili's so if you are looking for a quiet day/evening this is the spot. I usually get the monthly margaritas and this time I ordered it was pre mixed. Now, I've been told from my local (Ventura county) Chili's that the margaritas are made when ordered and I've seen them make so when I saw the margarita coming out of the machine I was disappointed especially since I didn't want all the mix (sugar) that's comes with it. So today is Sunday, this location is not that crowded so we check in and I go use the restroom while waiting there are about 10 cleared tables near the restroom and they say it's a 45 minute wait. We purchased a $50 dollar gift card at a prior visit and received a 10 dollar free gift card through a promotion. We tried using it yesterday but the card was deemed inactive. The server, Courtney, was great and tried her best to help us get the card activated. We ended up speaking to the manager who couldn't of had been any worse if he tried. He was not at all trying to help us resolve the issue and did not care about our frustrations. He had an "oh well" mentality. If it weren't for the great service I otherwise receive there, I would probably never go back. Laura typically helps us, and she has been excellent. This last weekend, I was staying at a hotel in this area. I needed some dinner and it was about 9:30pm. I think that anywhere in any large city you should be able to go out to eat till at least midnight. It surprises me that so often, this is not the case. Particularly surprising is that, according to the restaurant list on google maps, a nice area like Manhattan Beach has virtually nothing to offer after 10:00pm on a Saturday night! Luckily, there was a Chili's, and it was open till 11:00pm. I have had a very inconsistent history with almost all the popular casual dining restaurants. In fact, BJ's and Red Robin are the only two that I don't think I have had major problems with on numerous occasions. Without getting too deep into things, I had a string of bad Chili's experiences and swore off of them entirely. Then a few years went by and I have now been to Chili's 3 times in the last 3 years and each trip has gotten progressively better. I ordered a burger from a very understanding waiter. (Matthew?) I asked for a number of alterations to the burger. They didn't mess up anything. The presentation on the fries was very good. The fries themselves were ok. The burger was very good. I wish the egg was not sunny side up but that was my fault because when I asked them to add the fried egg to the burger I pointed to a picture in the menu that showed a burger with a sunny side up egg. I also think the BBQ sauce could be a lot better. That being said, pretty good burger. Certainly nothing worth complaining about. All the employees who helped us were very good. read more

I've only been here with gift cards which helps my experience tremendously. Over the years the food has gotten better in my opinion. The 6 ounce sirloin with avocado on the lighter plates menu is pretty good price and taste wise and the burgers are pretty good as well. The one thing I was impressed with was the new appetizer, the buffalo cauliflower. But if we didn't have a gift card, we probably wouldn't be here...Not to say it's horrible, just for the price, there are so many other place just as good or better. But again, with a reason to go, we enjoyed our experience. read more

Arrived here for Father's Day for a party of 2. The hostess at the front was really nice and greeted us as soon as we arrived. Didn't get their name, but it was a woman with short hair. We waited for only 8min on a Father's Day afternoon and the restaurant was slightly packed. I was honestly impressed with how fast we were seated and accommodated. After being seated our server was Austin and he was really friendly. I had ordered one of the new margaritas for a drink and when the bartender brought it out, he did inform me that they were out of one the ingredients, but he used another type of liquor. I truly appreciated that as a customer, honesty. The drink was even better tasting than I thought. I did tell Austin that it was also my boyfriend's birthday and after we finished eating the staff came and sang Happy Birthday and brought ice cream with a candle. For a holiday, I was impressed with their quick service, honestly, and customer service. Our food was great too. I will be returning. read more

I ordered 2 of the burger specials and alcoholic beverages the gentleman that claimed to be the manager obviously wasn't trained properly because he couldn't provide the proper information on their 6pack beer special and sold me the wrong beer and refused to exchange it out after his mistake. They also couldn't even provide napkins or plastic ware on a Togo order very bad customer service! I needed to ask for utensils, napkins, straws and ketchup and still never received napkins. Once I looked around, a server looked at me and said, "I'll be right with you." I said "ok," as we know many places are short staffed right now. By the way if you don't already know but, if you want to find a seat pretty fast without waiting for a table just sit at the bar area. the waiter that we had really did not check on us, after taking our order and serving it to us. I wanted a refill on my drink but he never came back to see if we were ok, or if we needed something else. this has been the first time with less than average service that i have gotten. There were more staff in the restaurant than customers, but it still took 10 minutes before the bartender came over to take my order. He never did come back to check if I wanted more ice tea and insisted I use the tablet to pay even though I was paying cash. The tablet has a default tip of 20%, which was far too much for the poor service. read more

First time coming to a Chili's restaurant and I have to say that the reviews are pretty accurate on this place. Slow service and decent food. I do love the ambiance though! We got the half rack bbq ribs with original sauce and the cajun chicken pasta. I like eating things that I can't make at home so the bbq ribs and fries were amazing. One app, two entrees for only $20. That's a pretty sweet deal. *Texas Cheese Fries: Yum!!! But sooo bad for you!! *Cajun Chicken Pasta: I will definitely get this again... and will probably need a long session at the gym afterward. *Chicken Quesidilla: I usually prefer a higher cheese to chicken ratio. If I had to describe Chili's in one word to someone who had never been there before, I think the word I'd use would be "melange". They don't really have a signature dish. And honestly, I usually avoid going to this place because I can't have dairy and I don't like spicy food all that much, but when coworkers asked me to join them for dinner, I thought why not. Since I still needed to drive home, I ordered a lemonade to drink. After the rest of my coworkers arrived, I ordered chips and salsa. The appetizer was quite Anglofied, kind of ordinary and boring. Freshly made chips with thin soupy salsa. I had a terrible time finding something I could eat on their menu. I finally settled on the grilled fish, mixed veggies and rice which clearly stated on the menu it was prepared with no butter. As compared to my coworkers dishes, mine looked like a sad diet plate which lacked a garnish. The waiter did a good job at keeping our drinks filled and making up our separate checks.
