where do I start. I normally like to yelp for the good but that doesn't always happen. I know you can't put chili's in the 5 star category, however I expected more. Went in to have dinner at about 4:30PM, and everything was a mess. Bathrooms were gross and smelled horrible. We sat down and waited 10 minutes before finally asking can we sit somewhere where we would be able to order food. Server came over, still never got her name. We placed our order, drink and food all at once. Came out rather quick. Everything was cold as if it had been sitting under the lamp from a previous messed up order or something. The manager never came out he sent the server to see if we wanted something else. By the time we left (only was there for all of 30 mins), we both had headaches from the screaming and shouting. The bartender and servers were shouting across the dining room to each other. Barking out orders and asking if they had certain things. Just a mess!! Not a place I'll return. Moral of the story is, the best thing they had was the ice cold coke. read more

This was my second visit within 30 days. During both visits I was served beverages in dirty coffee mugs. On my previous visit approx 3-weeks ago I was served lemon w/a cottage cheese substance on it. I came with my friend and we got chips and salsa. Who knew you could go wrong with that?! The salsa was gross. I got a cheeseburger with avacado and the avacado had bad spots. I love coming to this chillis by far the best servers and quality on the food is always good, my husband and i just went this past sunday and are server was amazing she offered us the happy hour drinks and they were definitely two thumbs up!!! This Chillis gets my qualified fourth star. The service is much improved over the past year after becoming really lousy with long wait times. The current staff is excellent. We go there every other week or so with three young kids. It is our go to place with kids. They love the computer game at the table. The kids meal are good and cheap. The adult food is pretty good too. The burgers actually look identical to the great photos on the menu. Tortilla soup is very good too. We like the skillet cookie desserts. read more

This Manhatten Beach location is best of all the Chili's restaurant that we've tried in socal. Our favorite server is a wonderful and cheerful lady named Lydia! Lydia has a great personilty and after a couple of times she already knows our favorite appetizer - buffalo chicken wings. Horrible! Go somewhere else! I don't know if is new management or new staff or cooks or what... But first off the wait was ridiculous for our food.. The place was not busy at all! Our server was struggling to take our order.. She repeated it back to me but some how there was a break down between her and the kitchen.. My wine glass came out with lip stick on the glass!!!! My kid ended up getting an adult meal which had stuff on his mini burgers he hated (we tried to scrape off) to avoid a longer wait... Then after asking for no cilantro twice to be on my fajitas... Guess what cilantro... So I had to send it back which took over a half hour to come back out... The manager waved my fajita charge but overall this was the worst experience at Chilis we have had!!! This was my first time eating at chilis... I know where have I been right lol. Well I must say for my first time have a really good experience. This was more of a spare of the moment type thing because we decided to just find somewhere to eat in the manhattan area. I must say I had a very good experience for this being my first time. Going on a Sunday happy hour is all day long, which I thought was really cool. I ordered one of there strongest drinks tequila special. I took it down like a champ lol and also there rib burrito. I must say there burrito was bomb. With all the sauces and blend it really was for-feeling. Also they had some delicious appetizers so we tried the loaded wings and it was soooo cheesy I can still taste them right now lol. Chili's usually gets on my nerves in general and I don't tend to seek out eating here very much unless I absolutely have to do so. My friends and I decided on a spur of the moment kind of thing to eat here after a long day. Now I know there are a ton of other places to choose to eat in Manhattan Beach, but when you are traveling with people who are on a budget you have to take one for the team lol. Now I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised at how well the service was that we received because my typical run-in's with Chili's in the past have never been too good. This location nailed it and even though there were some minor things that were messed it this visit, there was nothing that was that major to cost them a crazy low rating of stars! The transition of changing servers in the middle of the dining experience is usually annoying but they made it as smooth as possible. With a party of four, once everybody's food came out it pretty much looked like a feast! I decided to say to the hell with my diet I was supposedly on and went all the way in on a full rack of ribs with a side of loaded mashed potatoes! Yum! Made to perfection! But then again it should be when you are shucking out over $20 for your plate. Once of my friends had an issue with his tacos but they apologized and quickly made his order correct! This is a review more for our server and our food but the manager tried to salvage it. First off we waited over an hour for our food after being out in a booth against the back wall and waiting 45 minutes for someone to take our order. After and hour following that our food finally came out but my pasta had a skin on it coz it had been sitting under the heat lamp so long and it was so cold I could put my finger in the food and not flinch the only thing got was the plate. On top of that my grandma's tortillas were so cold they were hard. The icing on the cake was when my mom told our waitress the waitress rather than be apologetic responded to her with a ton of attitude "I try to get the food out as fast as possible it's not my fault" sand when my mom asked for a refill she brought rancid ice tea and we think she did it on purpose coz after that she refuse to come back to the table the manager took over from there. read more

Happy Hour is awesome, don't drink but their happy hour food menu is very cool. They have a $5 and under appetizer menu that's wayyy cheap for yummy food. They have a nice variety ranging from mini burgers, fries, sweet potato fries, pretzel sticks, nachos and even wings!!! I mean the portions are small, they are under $5 but how can you complain? I had a horrible experience both times at this location. I understand mistakes happen but it seems like the service is always terrible! First of all the hostess was rude and she never smiled then seated us in a booth all the way in the back to where no one could see us. I waited twenty minutes before my server ever showed up to take our drink orders because she could not see us. Right as I was about to leave the manager came over and deeply apologized and insisting we stay and have our meal half off. I just came back from what I call the worst dining experience in recent times. I ordered asparagus with garlic dry roasted tomatoes, and the waitress shows up with... Only asparagus. My plate included baby back ribs and steak that arrived... freezing cold to my table. They took it back and put the entire plate in... The microwave like if I'd ordered enchilada plate. My daughter ordered a salad that included dried cranberries that are not dry, but.... hard as a rock, and to make things prettier she's spent the last minutes with.... Diarrea. Horrible experience. After reading all the negative reviews, was hesitant to dine at the newly remodeled Chili's in MB. We had lunch in the bar area & Kathryn, was our server. She made our dining very enjoyable. All doubts about the service was forgotten. She informed us about the $5 margarita special of the month & it was delish. We ordered the $7 combo special which was filling. Terrible right from the start. Waitress didn't know how to give us a free appetizer without me signing into my chilies reward. Then she didn't know which appetizer I could get for free. She didn't know that there was a special going on for the ribs for 9.99. I had to show it to her in an email in order to get that price. I ordered a burger that had a fried egg. Which normally still has a runny yoke. the egg came out Fried so hard you could hardly chew it. Couldn't find our waitress to tell her about it. Tried to pay bill using table kiosk but the only things listed were our drinks. Manager came by and took our plates, asked how things were and we explained about the egg situation. He asked if we told our waitress and we told him we haven't seen her to tell her. Also told him that we couldn't pay our bill because it wasn't on the kiosk which he then said he would fix. When he brought back the bill there was no discount for the terrible hamburger fiasco. Sad service, sad food. $40 wasted! Okay i thought I'd give them the benefit of the doubt. Even though our waiter was very nice and polite when i took my first bite of my burger it f..ing burned my mouth due the salt content, the fries were bombarded with seasoning salt which just made things worse. My girlfriend had some Broccoli and shrimp, obviously these were frozen before and the veggies looked and smelled old.
