When we walked in the hostess had an attitude when we asked for a highchair for our son because she had an open table in the bar area but told us that no high chairs were allowed in there. She then told us we'd have to wait about 20 min and told us we had to wait in our car due to Covid (which I understand). As soon as we got back to our car, like a minute later, and sat down I got a text that our table was ready.
When we got in the table we were put at was in the bar area with a highchair. I went to wipe it down with some antibacterial wipes and it was so sticky and dirty, definitely had NOT been cleaned properly in a while.
The floor was so Dirty! There was just trash all over it, I mean even one of those floss/toothpicks. Table was sticky! I used my own antibacterial wipes to clean everything down.
We ordered our drinks and appetizer, then about 10 minutes later ordered our food. Our appetizer came out about 15 min later, followed by our food like 3 minutes later. Didn't give us much time to enjoy the appetizer, but it was good. Food was ok, my husbands burger bites were definitely over well done, hard to chew. I ordered the bbq plate with brisket and chicken tenders. Meat was ok but corn had a weird taste, at the time I thought it was all the seasoning on it.
So I've always had the Chili's app but hardly have ever used it, but I remembered to check it this time and I had a free dessert with purchase of entree. I showed my waitress and she said ok, and I ordered a slice of cheesecake Togo. She brought us our cake, some Togo boxes for our leftovers and one of those table tablets with our check on it. She handed me the tablet and hit the "Pay in Full button." Trusting her (stupid me) I went ahead and paid, and had the receipt emailed to me.
We got up and walked out, noticing a lot of people waiting in the front area where we were told due to Covid we couldn't wait.
Anyway as we were driving off I pulled up my email to look at the receipt and sure enough, I didn't get my dessert free. We turned around and went back, I walked back in and showed the hostess who went to get a manger. As he came up he was clearly annoyed as well when I explained what happened and said with the tablets it's difficult to refund from them, like he didn't want to do it. He also said it takes 2-3 days for the refund. I told him I'd give it back and that I didn't want it if I had to pay for it, the only reason I got it was because I had the free reward. He finally wrote down all my info from my receipt and said he'd take care of it.
Now you'd think I'd be done here, well nope... we left, ran and errand and then headed home. We live about 30 min from this Chili's and about half way my stomach started hurting so bad. I was so nauseous and having sharp pains. When I got home I ran to the bathroom and that's were I was most of the night. Something I ate must of been bad, because I haven't been able to keep anything down today. Luckily my husband and son have been ok, so it must of been my food.
The 1st time we go out since Covid and this was our experience! Awful! I hope I get my money back for that cake and will not return there! read more
