We ordered the waitress was wonderful the food was tasty . Then all of a sudden a family came in with little children sat down behind us Then these little boys started yelling at the top of their lungs . Well that was the end of our birthday Party we were unable to have a conversation. I looked for the manager on the way out but couldn't find her . This should not be allowed. I would love too go back there . But families with children that scream should be put in a separate area. Or be told if they can't contain their kids they must leave . read more

I stopped by to chit chat with a friend of mine Chuck and I sat and talked with him for 45mins or possibly an hour and JOEL the bartender never once stoped to even ASK if I wanted a drink let alone food. My friend commented to me "this is one of the WORST bartenders ever and he's been going here for YEARS. Table is so wobbly. There's a cure for that, it's called a screwdriver. Bathroom looks clean and is okay other than the faucet sprayer which is dorked. The air conditioner is broken. Ordered cheesburgers, mozzarella sticks, cod, & fries. Some fries were lukewarm. Burgers were cooked well. Cod tasted good, not greasy at all. Skipped desert, no cheesecake. Upon arrival the server Aj took a total of 13 minutes to greet us. When we finally did place an order our drinks were brought over to the table with no straws. I order the old timer double burger specifically with only lettuce and cheese they bring it out with everything on it. My fries were also cold and hard. I let the server AJ know and he has the manager bring me a bun over and i'm still letting him know this was not satisfactory and he says okay and walks off. To avoid any issues we just try and pay and on our check there were random charges that needed to be taken off. The level of customer service here is in the trash . Ughh man only bc the explosion salad got me coming back and I only write these reviews when it gets me really stirred up. Chillis has potential! It's a fun vibe to meet up with friends and throw back a couple drinks especially in Wappingers but dude.... The service is trash. No one greets you or says goodbye or tries to engage in conversation. While you're talking amongst each other you could be building strong relationships with customers that are in close proximity! I'm usually not a huge fan of popular food establishments but I brought my kids here tonight after a long day of after school activities and everything was good. The server was kind and she made sure I double checked my check before running my card. Glad she did that because there was one item I didn't order on my check she made sure she removed. Arrived at curbside pickup, checked in and waited 15 mins past time it was supposed to be ready. No one came out so I went in and was greeted rudely. She saw I had checked in and hurriedly given my bag of food (steak and sliders). NOTE: Food was sitting on a shelf rack with no means to maintain safe temperature. NOTE: Three other cars were also waiting and there appeared to be several carry out/take out orders on the same rack. Got back to hotel and no napkins or cutlery. Steak ordered medium, was beyond well done. All food was moderately warm as it had been sitting on the rack at the restaurant longer than it should had they responded to my checkin and brought it out. Went on a Friday nite in January 2025. Terrible, horrible food @ the Wapp Falls, NY Chili's Restaurant! They've gn soo down from the last time I me I was in several yrs ago! Got soup it was nothing but a yellowish mush that appeared to be more of a dip then any semblance of a soup! When I complained to the waitress she had the gall to say "oh, no but it's good"..I kid you not. She didnt try to replace it or offer something else. The entrees (both of ours) were cold and over the top too salty. Gson signed up for the app while we were there so we got our complimentary "free" Salsa & Chips and it was El Paso Taco Sauce, I swear. Also, a baby cm in and her party (family) was seated next to us, yet even w their complaints to staff about the music's loudness they kept the Heavy Metal Rock music blasting while I thought this is supposed to be a family friendly restaurant, no? Really?? Waitress seemed nice until she dismissed our valid complaints on the soup and "free" salsa n instead was gaslighting me. Dont go. Not recommended. Prices are cheap and service is lousy. The nuggets I got for my kids was tiny and unappetizing, I felt so sorry that this was what I fed them. Even my granddaughter Leah who has an amazing ability to put away a plate of food barely touched her dish. I had a hamburger deluxe, and it was on the bad side of mediocre. SUMMARY I don't often frequent the Poughkeepsie area and this was actually my maiden voyage to Chili's. I originally thought this was a traditional Mexican place but was soon shocked when I found out there menu had plenty of variety. Despite these COVID-19 times the staff maintain a clean environment and go above and beyond to provide great service to the patrons. FOOD My party and I ordered Nacho & Honey Chipotle Wings as appetizers, Steak and "The Boss " Burger for Entrees and the Skillet Cookie for dessert. The food was amazing and came out fast. STAFF Often times food along cannot help a restaurant but a combination of great food and service can. We were greeted by a kind and excellent server Lisa who allowed us to pick our seating and was both kind and patient with us while took our time deciding what we would eat. Lisa also shocked me and my companion when she told us to cut into the steak to make sure it was cooked to our liking. Lisa was an excellent example of how every person in the food business who has direct contact with customers should act. Besides her , the manager also came by and checked on us to see how we were doing. I am consistently impressed with this Chili's location every single time I visit. Servers and hosts are always friendly and accommodating and the food is always great. Even during peak times (Saturday night) food always comes out quickly and the appropriate temperature. I've had a little bit of everything on the menu, and it's always good. From burgers to bowls, tacos to salads, there's not a thing on their menu they don't do well. Admittedly though, I am HOOKED on their bottomless soup and salad. Something about the loaded potato and chicken enchilada soups just call to me every so often. Another big plus is their $5 margarita selection. This trip to Chili's on South Road in Poughkeepsie, was just as disappointing as my last trip here. I had hoped that they had improved. I rarely dine here because there is usually a problem with the service or the food. I noticed that they weren't as busy as they use to be prior to the pandemic. They like to seat everyone in one area as if social distance is a thing of the past. We asked to be seated away from the crowd. You would think they would do this automatically. After I placed my order I sat talking to my daughter. Shortly after we were seated two of the tables across from us left and three more tables filled up. My daughter and I continued to talk. After twenty five minutes pasted I noticed the people who came in after us, were already eating. That's when I begin looking around for the server. Three minutes later I spotted her and she came over to ask how the food was and I replied " I don't know we didn't get our food yet and it's been a half hour". She replied it's coming right out as if the order was just placed and then she walked away. Two minutes later a woman dressed in jeans and a purple shirt came out and tried to say our food was delayed because they were making fresh chicken. Are you serious. It's bad enough that the waitress forgot about us but now this woman whom I'm assuming is the manager comes to our table to feed us this lie about making fresh chicken and then offering to give us a refill on our lemonade. Yeah lady that makes up for the poor service. How do you explain the people coming in after us already eating? Did they get the old chicken? I saw the what I think could be the real problem when I went to wash my hands. Everyone was just standing around laughing and talking in the kitchen. Our waitress included. I'm not sure why it took thirty nine minutes to make two Tex Mex bowls. It's a medium size bowl of rice topped with a sprinkle of lettuce, tomato, cheese, chicken, avocado and small tortilla strips. It's not a complicated dish nor time consuming. I believe the reason it took so long is because they forgot to fill our order. I'm so disappointed in this place. This Chilis was my favorite place to take friends for lunch, to meet friends and family for dinner.. the food was amazing, the drinks also and the pricing was great. I don't know what happened to this place, but it is now the dirtiest restaurant I have ever seen. I invited a friend to meet me for lunch here. when we sat down, that POI system thing on the table was covered in grime and old food. we asked the waiter to take the thing off the table and to please wipe the table. He seemed embarrassed by the dirty thing and apologized mumbling something about the last shift not cleaning up. We enjoyed our lunch and thought it was just an off day. well last week my family stopped in for dinner. There were three young women chatting away at the front desk. we were seated near the bar, no problem.. but the table.. that POI device was disgusting! covered in dried food and greasy fingerprints, and the table was terribly dirty. Hubby asked the group of chatting girls at the desk if someone could clean the table. one of them came over with a dirty cloth. meanwhile after looking around and seeing just how dirty this place was, I didn't want to eat here. if the dining room is this dirty.. how clean can the kitchen be? we told the girl with the dirty cloth we weren't going to stay. she gave that dirty table one swipe with the cloth, shrugged said "oh, ok" and walked away. my only guess is this restaurant must be under new management. It's time for another great installment of #MorganReviewsChainRestaurants! This time, we went to Chili's on Rt. 9 in Poughkeepsie! I'm not the hugest fan of Chili's, especially since this was the frequent pre-movie theatre dinner locale for my family back when I was growing up, and I generally associate it with a mediocre kid's menu and fighting with my younger brother. But alas, I am now an adult, and those less than spectacular chicken fingers are a thing of the past! You're going to pretty much get the same thing decor wise no matter what Chili's you go to, and while their Southwestern-inspired aesthetic is predictable, it's also comforting to see that wherever you may roam, you can always count on the friendly cantina vibe of this popular chain destination. It wasn't too crowded and we were able to sit down almost immediately. Our server Kyle was absolutely fantastic - funny, engaging, and prompt with taking our orders and refilling drinks. If you go to this Chili's, you have to request him as your server! He rocks. As for food, I've been trying to eat healthy after a weekend of cheat meals (see the huge slice of cake at the Duck and Bunny and the enormous box of chicken parm fries at Friskie Fries this past weekend), so I was delighted to find the Guiltless Grill menu, which had five or six tasty entree options all under 600 calories including sides. I ordered the Carne Asada Steak, which was 6 ounces of flavorful steak cooked to a perfect medium rare and served alongside some tasty sautéed garlic tomatoes and a small salad topped with honey lime vinaigrette and cotija cheese. Not bad, and under 500 calories! I was full, happy, and pleasantly surprised with the quality of the meal. My boyfriend, who lucky duck does not have to watch what he eats (darn his metabolism!), got a Buffalo Chicken Sandwich, which arrived piled high with crisp fried chicken, lettuce, tomato, and buffalo chipotle sauce with a side of fries. Not healthy, but very, very delicious! He also raved about his mango iced tea, and Kyle kept the refills coming! I've found through this little #MorganEatsAtChainRestaurants experiment that I've become less judgmental of chains and those who choose to eat at them versus smaller restaurants. There's a time and place for everything, and I am so grateful we had a wonderful experience at Chili's tonight - I daresay, we'll be back again soon! read more
