We had a birthday dinner for my grandson (turned 9yrs old). We had 24 guests in total (yea pretty large group). The server who waited on us has to be by far the greatest young man! His name is D'Angelo. He took all of our orders (accurately, no mistakes at all). His persona was kind and patient WITH ALL OF US! I want to thank Chili's for having this young man on their team! Ok ok I've frequented this spot for the past year and a half or so. I've had some pretty bad experiences and some pretty good ones this review is long over due and to be honest it was the double charging me that did it. I would have gone on with inconsistent service and just lived with it because come on now it's chilis you don't expect much. First- the only good service I've had here was when sitting at the bar area - I've gone a couple times for lunch with my husband the person that works the bar takes our order he's friendly and efficient and the few times we've done this- zero issues We came in the other night it was pretty full- but not so full we had to wait. We were seated right away. Waitress didn't know the menu but that's not a big deal who remembers all that anyways. We placed our orders food came in a timely manner considering the amount of people. Mind you it is midweek We waited forever for drink refills (my husbands pet peeve) we were closer to the Togo area it looked like the manager was who was helping or shall I say obligated to provide a service to them. He seemed super irritated you could see it. There was a ton, and I mean a ton of people waiting for go to and curb side they definitely aren't prepared for the amount of people they had. Time to pay the bill we finally got my husband a refill on his drink at that point. The kiosk isn't working, my card gets charged- they said the manager reversed it / canceled it and I pay AGAIN. Well no one canceled or reversed anything I got charged twice as much. So that was the straw that broke my back. It's unfortunate but I'll drive to Claremont next time I want chilis. read more

A couple of friends and I went for dinner and sat in the bar area. Carly was our server and she was awesome! I got the two course meal with BBQ ribs and cheddar jalapeño sausage, broccoli, some special kind of corn on the cob (can't remember what it was called but it was delicious) and garlic toast. The wait for our food was a bit ridiculous. And the temp manager on shift Vivian was rude and very unwelcoming with her attitude. But our waiter D'Angelo was great. He was polite, accommodating and communicative. He was very apologetic about how long it was taking for us to get our food which we appreciated. Also another gentleman came out who was very helpful and even gave us a discount for us having to wait so long which we were appreciative about. My sister's pasta meal the shrimp was cold like really cold. Their strawberry lemonade is FIRE!!! I ain't even lying I had two cups of that delicious refreshment. My daughter and I walked into Chili's in Point Loma. It was not busy at lunchtime. The waitress took us to the bar area in the back and I told her I did not want to sit in the back so she walked us into the dining area in an area where there was no one sitting by us, but we could see people on the other side and I told my daughter I don't know what her problem is but this girl has a problem. Let's go so when I walked out she was talking to one of the waiters and I told them this girl needs to learn her job I felt disrespected. I am a minority and why would you sit me in the back? Haven't been to this location in such a long time, met up with a friend who wanted to come here for the monthly margaritas for $6 dollars which is a great offer on a Saturday , ordered the 4 big bites burger , requested that they are cooked well done NO PINK IN MIDDLE! Of course they came out pink in middle & not cooked!! I seen a manager at bar talking and once I got his attention I signaled for him to come to me. He signaled back , wait. Then he pointed to waitress that was at bar to come help me, when she approached me I asked for a manager, then she went back to manager told him I asked for a manager!! ‍ I explained how I wanted my food and how it came etc..... No apology, No smile, the manager just said I'll send it back! I later learned his name is Allen. The burger bites came back well done 2nd round, customer service so/so , Food was good once it was made right! Ambiance chaotic! I would definitely recommend management work on being more customer friendly! The bar waiters was nice and I believed the waitress sent my order correct it was just cooks still sent burger bites uncooked! Everyone don't like pink insides on a burger. This chilis is one of the best ones I've ever been to. Coming into town to visit , we wanted some nice drinks and decided to come here . Shame we didn't write a review for this place before all the other times we came but I hope this makes up for it. The ENTIRE restaurant is sparkling clean. No trash in the parking lot, the bathrooms are shiny and fully stocked, and the dining floor itself is nothing short of either of those things. Our server, JB, was an absolute delight. He was quick to introduce himself and help us get situated ( the host and JB were more than accommodating with our service animal as well ). He was attentive and had our food and drinks out to us minutes after we had ordered. Very sweet and checked in often. The food was delicious. It's chilis, you know what you're in for and you get nothing subpar of it. Drinks were so yummy and JB gave us good recommendations for them. Unfortunately I didn't get my soup or any of the lettuce, pico, or sour cream for the quesadillas but I DID get FOUR tubs of salsa and 2 bags of chips? So kind of a win? My partner also ordered some mozzarella sticks that blew me away (she said it was some trend on tik-tok going around) so darn good. The service was great, the staff during that evening shift were very kind and attentive. The waiting time was around 20-30 min- *after waiting, it made sense- the place was packed and if cooks in the back are aiming to always be top tier with their food, the patience is well worth it. So let me start by saying that my review has nothing to do with my server, she was amazing and she had so many tables that she was working. We arrived to Chili's and they told us it would be a 30 to 45 minute wait, we were okay waiting so we waited for our name to be called. About the 30 minute mark our name was called and we were seated our sweet waitress came over and took our order but advices that the kitchen was really backed up and that our food may take a little while which then ment that our food would take longer so more wait time it was too late to go elsewhere because our son was with us and he was hungry so we waited. Finally our food came out and right away I noticed that the steak my son ordered looked burnt or over cooked but I did not want to point out to my son until I knew it was not just me who noticed my son proceeded to cut his steak which that in itself was difficult, he tried to eat it but he just could not do it. We told our waitress and she apologized and said she would get the cooks to cook another one. Second steak came out and it was so much better. My son was happy. Then the bill came and when I was about to pay I saw the price of the steak said $10.29 and then there was a credit of $-10.29 which ment the price of the steak was taken off the burnt one but then we noticed there was a cost for the same steak and it said $16.49 for the same steak so I called our waitress over and asked her why I was being charged $16.49 for the same steak and she advices that because my son had eaten the side of rice mind you while he waited for his second steak which only the new steak came out that they were charging $16.49 so it was not like he got additional sides just a replacement steak. The manager would only como some of the steak. That is just crazy to me. The manager should have just compt the first steak and not charged me more for the exact second steak because my son ate his side of rice which came with his meal anyway. I'm extremely disappointed with this manager at Mission Valley store #76 I feel this is really bad business and corporate will also be hearing from me. This Chili's in Mission Valley is the best one in San Diego. I go there on the weekends and the food, and customer service could not be better. The ambiance is so fun and amazing. Ryan is my favorite bartender. He remembers what everyone of his customers drink and is so attentive. If you're a sports fan the TV's are everywhere offering the best sports watching experience. If you have questions about your team ask Ryan. He knows everything about sports and what's going on with all of the various teams. Honestly, the experience could have been better, but what can you expect. Walked in and got our names on the list and were told it would be 30 mins. I'm not sure why I keep giving this location's curbside service a chance to redeem themselves but tonight I finally learned my lesson to never come back. I ordered my food online for curbside delivery. When I arrived, all of the curbside spots were taken so I parked in a spot that was perpendicular (less than a foot) to the #1 curbside spot (see photo for reference). I sat in my car with the window down patiently waiting for my food. My order was supposed to be ready at 7:20pm. Waited around and figured maybe they were busy but once it hit 7:45pm, I figured they must have forgotten about me. I walked in to a half empty dining room and told the girl what was going on and she says "oh sorry, your food is right there, you have to park in the spot if you want your food". I said "so my food has been sitting there for 25min, this entire time?" And she answers "yeah well you weren't in the spot" as if I was not clearly next to it and as if putting the make, model and color of your car is not part of the curbside process. I explained that I was right next to the spot, she didn't care. She never offered to remake my now cold and soggy food. Just a "oh well, your fault half apology". Not exactly how I'd like to have dinner after a 12hr shift at work. Saying this experience was disappointing and just plain dumb is a massive understatement. We chose the awesome blossom, half ribs, bacon burger, and chocolate chip skillet cookie with ice cream. Awesome blossom was awesome. Nice oniony flavor with a hint of spice. Burger was standard. Only came with one side which doesn't make sense because the burger wasn't that big. Half ribs came with 2 sides. Loaded baked potato had cheese and bacon and side of fries tasted good with ranch. Skillet cookie was good but the cookie flavor wasn't as pronounced at BJ's. There was an unusual flavor about it like kind of plasticky? Regardless, it was great to share after our meal. I been trying to find a place that has a good steak and low prices chilies is my new favorite spot for steak. $13 for a 6 oz steak with two sides and a drink !!! Are you kidding me ?! Who can beat that price let alone the flavor ! I've been to outback steak house they make the worst steak for the price. Tasted boiled over there. At chili's they season a batch of steaks about an hour before they cook so that osmosis can occur. ( moister leaves the steak and puddles on the surface of the steak after the salt has been dissolved salt stops pooling water to the surface and the steak begin to absorb the moisture back into the steak but the moisture is now flavored and the steak absorbs the flavor like a sponge giving it that signature steakhouse flavor. Chilies knows what they're doing and they do it great. Best happy hour as well! $3 beer and wells from 3-6pm everyday and also 9pm -close ! By far the most popular location I have visited - or maybe I just came at the most peak time; either way, due to the shared lot, available parking is limited. While not quiet, due to the many customer conversations, at least this location was not also blaring loud music (and none of the many screens showing different shows make any sound). The menu and food and quality of service are all the same as each of the other Chili's I have been to - so there is no real question as to what to expect. The best pricing is for their weekday lunch options - but that should not limit what you (can) choose. ;-) read more

Brenda was awesome and was a great sport with it being so busy, came in for the free veterans day menu with my parents and it was PAAAAAAAACKED!!!!! But luckily the food was still good and Brenda was a great sport and was stopping to talk with us even though I assume she had a bajillion other things to do. The only negative is that I was given the wrong sandwich at first (I asked for grilled and I was given fried) but it was so incredibly busy so it's understandable if the orders got mixed up and they immediately rang in a new sandwich for me and it was out super quick :) A bunch of other employees were helping bring food to our table but sadly I didn't catch any of their names as they each came and went pretty quickly.
