I had Qdoba often when I was living in FL. It was quick, fresh, bang for your buck and kept me full. Fast forward a decade later, I finally visit one on the west coast and happens to be in San Diego where I live. It's very similar to Chipotle in the way you order. Same concept. Except they offer more protein options like pulled pork, birria, and guacamole, queso is free. You pay according to your protein choice. I got a bowl of flame grilled adobo chicken and loaded on a bunch toppings. You can double your protein for an extra $3.95. Service was great and quick. More hot sauces by the soda. read more

To start, the location itself felt a bit sketchy, mainly because it's right next to public transportation. While my friend and I were outside this Qdoba, there were several people who appeared to be under the influence, which made us feel a little uncomfortable. The restaurant itself was pretty empty, and there wasn't much staff interaction or acknowledgment when we walked in. Because of that, it wasn't the best first impression. I had heard a lot about Qdoba before, and it reminded me of a Mexican grill similar to Chipotle. The setup is the same style where you walk in and order as you move down the line, choosing from items like tacos, quesadillas, and other Mexican-style food. I ended up ordering three soft tacos along with a side of their queso, which I know is one of their popular items, so I was excited to try it. Our food came out in about five minutes, and we sat at their high-top tables. The restaurant was clean, which I did appreciate. Unfortunately, the food itself wasn't great for me. Within about 15 minutes, I started getting a stomach ache. The queso wasn't very hot, more warm than anything and I couldn't tell if it was freshly made or microwaved. The flavor was underwhelming and mostly just tasted salty. The tacos were decent but nothing memorable; they tasted like an average taco you could get anywhere. I also felt the quality and quantity of the meat could have been better. Overall, I don't think I would personally come back to this location or to Qdoba in general. Between the uncomfortable surroundings and the stomach ache afterward, it just wasn't a great experience. At 9:30PM I placed an order on Doordash for 2 burrito bowls, 2 orders of churro chips, and 1 large order of tortilla chips & queso. Around 10:00PM, my food still hadn't arrived so I reached out to my assigned dasher who told me that the restaurant was lagging and the food wasn't ready. By 11:00PM, the food still hadn't been given to my dasher so he cancelled the order. I immediately got reasigned to a new dasher who delivered my food around 11:30PM. Dissapointingly, my food arrived COLD and missing the two orders of churro chips. I'm guessing that my food was ready not too long after I placed the order, and it sat in the restaurant for over an hour. Instead of remaking my order, the restaurant sent out cold food. So not only did I receive cold food, I received a partial order. Great!!! Also, Doordash refuses to give me a refund which is the cherry on top. Do better Qdoba. Great food and line staff, but management needs a mood check. This was our first time at Qdoba, and we were really impressed by the food and the incredible service from the team on the line. A very kind gentleman even let us know about a BOGO deal. However, the experience soured at the register. The cashier/manager was incredibly rude and seemed visibly upset that we were using the promotion. If you don't enjoy the job, don't take it out on the customers. Nothing like a burrito after running around errands. I ordered on the app and had it for picked up. The service was great, didn't have to wait and walked directly to the pick up window. I wish there was more locations near me. The portions are good and they have many options for salsas and seasonal items. I love qdoba but gosh this is the worst location I have ever been to. The food is always bland and seems like it has been sitting out all day. The chicken is always rubbery, the brisket is always ultra greasy and dry (again, sitting all day), rice is crunchy, etc. Just came in now for a couple of bowls at 8:30pm and was told they were out of both brown and white rice and black beans. The restaurant was completely empty- literally no one there but 4 employees. I asked how long it would be for rice and they said 10-15 min. So I wait for 20, walk up to the line and they tell me they're out of rice. I ask how long it will be and he says about 20 min because they haven't started making it yet. Burrito Day Gate and Food Safety Violations. Where do I start. This place is an absolute mess, they made people wait 2+ hours for online orders, they were so rude and uncommunicative, and when I finally got to the front of the line after 2 hours I saw the worker grab a dirty raw meat tong by the grill and make my burrito with it. He handed it over it to me, completely forgetting the other burrito I ordered, and didn't give me my drink. I was so disgusted I threw it away immediately after all of that. I've always had good experiences at this location, which is why my visit today at the store was so disappointing. My husband and I came in to order, and the manager (Maya) was already a bit rude while taking our order. She didn't complete it properly and I had asked for sour cream on everything, and it was skipped. When I politely asked her to add it, she responded dismissively and told me to wait while she did something else, even though my order wasn't finished. At checkout, the cashier was very kind and helpful, but during that time, the manager began yelling at another employee in front of customers and even used inappropriate language. It made the whole environment uncomfortable and unprofessional. Things escalated when the employee offered to warm my tortillas and he said he would brought them to my table which I DECLINED and said I would wait because I know they are busy nd the guy was so nice but the manager aggressively told him to stop helping me and do something else instead. She then told me I had to leave the counter and come back later to pick up my tortillas, which I did without any issue but the way she say it was so unprofessional!!! After that, she approached my husband and misrepresented the situation, saying I was upset about not having my food brought to me and that they don't do that kind of service which is unacceptable for her to approach my husband to said something completely untrue and about something I don't even asked for. When I tried to calmly clarify things with her, she dismissed me, raised her voice, and told me not to bother her because she was "too busy." I also felt uncomfortable because it seemed like she treated me differently. As a hijabi woman, I couldn't help but notice she was noticeably nicer to customers of her own background, which was very upsetting. To make matters worse, another customer approached me outside and mentioned they had noticed the same behavior, describing her as rude and unprofessional. I understand that working in a busy environment can be stressful, but there's no excuse for speaking to employees and customers this way. I think the biggest kicker of this story is how grossly off the time estimate was for when my food would be ready. So I see a deal "BOGO national burrito day!" I think to myself, what a score! Buy one get one free! Oh boy! I couldn't even FATHOM the mental anguish that was to come. I order two bowls humming to myself, pay, and then am given a time estimate for when my food will be ready. 7:45! Great! I'll get there at 7:40 and wait a bit and grab my food. I show up and there is a long line so being the law abiding citizen that I am, I also stood in line. 30 minutes go by, 0 movement in the line. "Huh? That's odd, why are no orders coming out?" I see that they are no longer following the time that the orders have come in. It's mayhem in the kitchen, people are cancelling orders, but they don't get taken off the queue. They have no idea what orders to make and seem to be picking out orders at random. Just picking pieces of paper out of a hat at this point. The workers are stressed. I'm stressed. I need to use the restroom (beauty and the beast theme "tale as old as timeee" line pops up in my head) 45 minutes goes by, my legs are tired, I don't know if I have the strength to go on. This is post working out so my body is basically decomposing at this rate. My face gaunt like a starving victorian child. Food is an illusion, is this real life? What is going on in that kitchen??? An hour goes by, I have ordered food from a nearby restaurant, the kebab shop. My will has been broken by the unmoving line. The stock still-life photo that encapsulates the chagrin of Qdoba customers, plain for all to see, written on the faces of the people standing for an hour at this point. An hour and a half later I have picked up my food from the kebab shop, and am back to waiting in the line. I will not eat my food in front of my fellow compatriots who have braved this sojourn with me thus far! An old man yells furiously into his phone as he paces near the parking lot. His loud barks provide the backdrop to the rest of the resolute souls that capitulate their fate. We have waited this long brethren, we must see this mission through! We talk of perhaps buying a bag of chips to share with our newfound family. We have bonded over this traumatic experience. I know not there names, but they are now immortalized in my memories. 2 hours have gone by. At this point, i have begun plotting my negative review on yelp. They begin just making the orders based on our order in line. No one in the kitchen knows whats happening. (No hate for the workers, they're doin GOD'S work in That kitchen) Finally get my food sometimes around 2 hours 20 minutes mark. Ya know, maybe the food is worth it. I hold on to this glimmer of hope as I drive back home. Perhaps it's not about the journey but the destination, perhaps this will make it all better. Got back, ate the food AND......... Chicken tasted like water. Beans tasted like water. Pico de Gallo tasted like water. Guac tasted like water. Fajita vegatables tasted like water. My roommates bowl is just water chicken and water beans. We got the same thing. Wow. No fault to the workers, they were doing their best. But DAMN what a terrible experience. -10000/10 food -10000/10 online ordering -10000/10 for whatever system, queue, thing they have for online orders. 10/10 service So averaging those scores out, i guess it's a 1/5 stars cause I can't go lower. But as for the veggies that they do have, I feel like they are all so fresh. I got the vegetarian bowl with an added taco bowl and that bowl was so crispy and not too oily. I really enjoyed the individual flavor of all of their ingredients. I also feel like they have a good portion size. Got QDOBA catered to us for lunch, I'd call it a higher grade Chipotle. Tortillas were provided but i didn't use them, i just made a bowl with rice beans, chicken and steak. I liked the black beans they had a good flavor. The chicken had a nice char to them without being dry. I usually stay away from steak that is cooked then delivered or held for awhile before being served, this steak was still juicy and tender, A+ for that. I really liked the cheese sauce it was very tasty and gooey though i thought the chips were a bit salty. I liked that the guacamole was still green and fresh despite being delivered and was thick and still had some chunks in it, not a watered down thin version. Overall pretty good! Not you traditional Mexican food that you'd get at your neighborhood taco shop, but a step up from Chipotle for sure. read more
