" Great Service & Good Tasty Food " My wife and I went to the Chili's in Santee Ca., today for the first time a had a very nice time. Luis Chavez our server was very nice and knowledgeable as he answered our questions about there new menu items and gave his recommendations to us. For an appetizer we had the Spicy loaded boneless chicken wings. The crispy boneless wings were smothered in white queso, 3-cheese blend, applewood smoked bacon, roasted jalapenos & chopped green onions. Served with a side of house-made ranch. They were Delicious ! For our main dinner entree my wife and I shared the Ultimate Smokehouse Combo dinner, where you choose any 3 meats: new smoked bone-In BBQ chicken breast, new jalapeño-cheddar smoked sausage, hand-battered Chicken Crispers® or a half rack of house-smoked baby back ribs (add 2.00). Served with new roasted street corn, homestyle fries, chile-garlic toast and garlic dill pickles. This plate was also delicious and so big, that we did not even half way finish the dish. The BBQ sauce was spicy and very good. The corn was very tasty but was a little mushy. The sausage was very tasty, and the Ribs were tender and falling of the bone good. Used their free curb side pick up for lunch which was super easy and efficient! The customer service is 5 stars! The only problem I have with take out is both times I've done it, their crispy chicken strips get soggy or something from being in the plastic to-go box which makes the breading almost like a piece of fish you'd get with fish 'n chips. The cocktails came to the table fast, but the server appears overwhelmed with the lunch crowd, and just interested in getting tickets out. I get it, it's a chain and the food is expected to be uniform, it's not fine dining. I just expected the food to have some flavor So, our lunch order has arrived, and it's satisfactory. Ordered online they forgot to give me my kids meals and undercooked my steak after I got home I realized all this so had to go back and get it fixed I also returned my appetizer cause at this point it was gonna be cold so I get home again after driving back and forth and my steak is about half the size as the first one and my new appetizer is all jacked up it was burnt after this I will never be returning to this restaurant I tried to call the 1-800 number and it was not available huh how convenient all they offered me was a bag of chips and salsa I told the manager it was a slap in the face read more

If I could give it no stars tonight I would... I've never left a review before but tonight is the night. My husband and two friends and I went out tonight and had the worst service. We brought or baby and the host had the worst attitude about it and when we told her we would set him on the chair she rolled her eyes because she "wasted her time." We could barely order before our server would walk away and we had to finish our order as he was leaving. They never asked about refilling our drinks nor would allow us the time to ask for more. We waited over an hour for our food and got burgers that were so dry we could barely eat them. Then when he saw that we barely touched our food he didn't ask if there was a problem he just got an attitude. I will not be going back to this Chili's. It saddens me to say this as Chili's is one of our favorite places to eat. read more

Second time here and things were good. Server, Brian, was really outstanding. Food was hot and very tasty. Room was a little cold for us older people, but wasn't shivering. Atmosphere was nice, but nothing outstanding, although it was clean. Biggest complaint is the distance from the parking lot to the front door. Some of us need those short distances to keep from being totally out of breath just to get in the door. Should have brought my wife's scooter, but it was a last minute decision to eat here. Will know better next time, right? Again, service was outstanding, food was really good, a bit pricey, but competitive I guess. Luckily we had a gift card that helped us out a lot too. Came into Chili's last night with my girlfriend and took a seat at the bar. Usually coming into Chili's you know what you are going to get, a chill atmosphere, consistent food and affordable pricing, and that is exactly why I enjoy coming into this place. However we got a something a little extra last night in Micheal as our bartender. He was super welcoming and friendly. Usually we don't talk to much to the wait staff when we go out and eat however, Micheal was like a long lost friend and the conversations just flowed. I ordered a brew and burger and my girl got a wine and the Cajun Chicken Pasta. Pasta and burger were Bomb! At Chili's you know what your going to get, plus at this location, you might get something extra in some awesome staff. Worst food I have ever experienced. We ordered the ribs, brisket and chicken which was absolutely disgusting. The ribs tasted old, the brisket was nothing like the picture (it was two deli slices of fat and gristle) and the corn was boiled to the max... should have said creamed corn. I will not return and cannot believe I just paid $70 for that disgusting excuse for a meal. I've been a customer at all chili restaurants for over 10 years now. I've been coming to This location for years. I was very upset today when I used my chilis points for a free guacamole and chips. At the end of my meal I showed our waiter my free birthday dessert. He expressed that I can not use the coupon because I already used one. But I stated that this was different because it was my birthday today and I wanted to get a free dessert because I had the coupon. He checked with the manager and they said they couldn't do it. That's very upsetting that I spend a lot of money always coming to chilis at least once a month for years, and they wouldn't honor my free BIRTHDAY dessert. How is this place still open? Every person in our family got either lukewarm or cold meals, they replaced my daughter's disgusting pizza with chicken tenders that took forever to come or and they were cold too. We asked for bbq sauce for her and it came out so hot that it burnt her tongue. We had already ordered dessert and took that to go because our stomachs were already revolting before we're left the table. You could tell that the chicken in my pasta and the chicken in my husband's fajitas were the exact same processed chicken that comes pre-sliced. Seriously? You can't even cook chicken? His fajitas weren't even warm. How do you bring out a lukewarm cast iron skillet? We won't be back. Now that we're are home we are miserable with horrid stomach aches. Respectfully, I did not enjoy anything regarding this restaurant. Everything I somehow ordered was added on to the check I ordered the combo meals where you can pick different entrees I got ribs and quesadillas and I had to pay a extra $3.00 on top of the 17.99 the I was already paying for the meal. The food takes forever to come we are all waiting around and the hostesses sat two families behind us after we sat down and they received thier food. I got my food eventually after waiting my ribs were dry and cold and the quesadillas just tasted old like they were sitting stale. read more

I recommend this place because the food was on point as well as the customer service! I tipped well just for the customer service cause I've been to Ruth's Chris, the food is good there but the customer service wasn't anything like it was here tonight at chili's! I can't testify for anything but the bar area/bar tops when reviewing Chili's...aaaannnd every staff member there is awesome. Jen, Dave, Jenna, Kevin and Nicki have all taken care of us and were great. Drinks are always refilled promptly and service is friendly and timely. A few weeks ago my food was a little messed up, I didn't want to make a big deal of it, they were busy, but the bartender could see I wasn't super pleased. 5 min later a manager came and apologized and comped half. Terrible doesn't begin to describe. First with plenty of open tables at 11 am they sit us at one of the only tables that had sun rather than sit us at a shady table. Second the drinks were watered down. Coke was watery, second coke was watery, strawberry lemonade was watery, and after 3 drinks we gave up. Next our food comes. Well all except 1 member of the table who had to wait. Salad was terrible as if it had been sitting and cucumbers were not normal almost had the consistency of zuchinni. They served us the wrong hot plates. So I got to eat the picked through chicken enchiladas because they were not the cheese ones that my aunt had ordered. So go to move the plate and it's still so hot that my husband's rough working hands got burned. Finally get my aunt her right food except it has corn which she requested the plate NOT have! First few bites are okay then 3rd bite in food is scorching hot so she screams in pain and drinks water to attempt to help. Manager asks how things are. Told her how unhappy we were with quality of salad, and with being burned by plates. She says sorry but that is actually how we serve our plates. I missed her apology being so stuck on how sje dismissed that my elderly aunt and my husband just got burned! I understand we all expect our plates to be hot but not to the point of burns! I think all those McDonald's lawsuits covered that! Then after dragging on the complaint while were trying to finish our food and have already said 5x no there's nothing she can get us then she offers ice. So then my husband finally gets his food when the rest of us are either done or half done with our food and my Aunt begins to choke. So now we've had nasty drinks, crummy food, got burned, and manager comes back with boxes and our bill and says I took off your aunts meal since your having such a bad morning..... Thank you we've had an atrocious experience and you've comped the least costing meal but not her drink or even offered desert or anything just simply made sure you could do anything you could to speed up us getting out of the Restraunt. Went in for late lunch (2 of us) and hostess told us the wait would be less than five minutes so we are standing waiting and she says we need to wait outside due to covid. That'd be completely fine yet she says nothing to the group of almost 10 people crowded inside the entryway where people are trying to walk through. How is that not a covid violation? So we wait outside in the rain but end up waiting in our cars because the "5 minute wait" is more like 15. Before turning to yelp we told the manager about the issue yet people still crowded in the entryway, so I guess it's only us that aren't allowed in! We get our food and it's COLD. The one star rating was for the quality of our food and not the service from our waitress, Jessie who was nothing short of phenomenal. I am honestly confused as to why his place is so busy with lines out the door. The hubs and I came here for a quick late small dinner and order drinks and an appetizer. It took a while for our appetizer to arrive but no fault of our waitress. The food was sub par, cheap, mediocre and just overall boring. The chicken was rubbery, the egg rolls were mushy and the fried pickles were way over cooked. I ordered the Presidente Margarita that tasted like water with lime. Went in this morning with my son and his girlfriend... 3 employees were working and not one acknowledged us. Waited a few minutes and a couple came in right after us and they were seated right away and was greeted warmly and orders were taken. Hostess finally came up to us with a shitty attitude and said it's gonna be a 5 minute wait, we said ok. There was about 15 people in there eating at the time. We decided to sit at the bar so we could watch the game, still no one came over to take our order. Worst customer service at this chilis. I like eating at this Chilis because the waitresses are really nice. It's a kid friendly place and they always comment on how cute our little girl is. Then when I order a beer they ask for my ID. I know I look young for my age but it makes me feel weird that they think I was knocking up my lady when I was 17 or something. Though, I think that's normal in Santee. I ordered their new buffalo chicken sliders with the bacon bits and blue cheese dipping sauce and they were damn tasty. So tasty that my wife took two of them and traded me two of her shitty chicken tacos. When we left half of the town of Santee was standing outside waiting for a table. Losers. Who goes to Chilis on a Friday night? Oh wait, I ate here on a Friday night, and then I went home and drank by myself. I can't wait to tell my coworkers at the office what I did over the weekend. Rating this restaurant's food is pretty unnecessary, as other patrons, who have rated this place long before me, have said it better, more often. Basically, the food is pumped with nondescript spices, slathered with lumpy sauces that are more gelatinous than the ooze in those Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movies, and often accompanied by margaritas that are more tangy than a twelve-pack of Orange Hi-C. I'm not here to talk about the food; I'm here to comment on the service of the Chili's in Santee. I've had several waitresses that treat us like ex-boyfriends. These girls sigh so often that I feel like I need to give them an oxygen tank so that they can breath properly. Why is everyone here so exhausted? Are they building the pyramids when they go into the kitchen? Anyway, the last time I had dinner here, there was a guy who was especially detached. Whenever he dropped off a plate, glass, inanimate object of your liking, he would slam it on the table like he was Kevin Garnett. Maybe he was practicing for a dunk competition after work, but I hardly think a plate of dessert is interchangeable with a regulation size basketball. Yeah, the food is bad. The service is atrocious. Time to give up on Chili's as a brand at this point. Every single decision resulting in what has become the modern Chili's seems to have been misguided. That is, Chili's haunchos - and haunchitas - have spent too much time visiting hipster cafes and Panini boutiques in search of ideas to keep the franchise relevant. While it's been very encouraging to see the chain scrape all the random paraphernalia from the walls, everything else has failed. There's no an interactive germ farm at the center of each seating arrangement. Why. Most of us eat this food with our hands. It is absolutely sickening to think the table prior to us did the same, scratched their unmentionables, touched their wallets and phones, and then fondled the germ box to pay the bill. I refuse to pay using that thing, and I won't visit another branch of Chili's if I see them out on the tables. We STILL have a server at the table, so what purpose exactly does that box serve? Another flaming fail is the toppings served with fajitas. Chili's used to make above average fajitas, and used to supply decent-sized portions of cheese, salsa, sour cream, the whole deal that makes a fajita taste like a fajita and not a bicycle tire. Now? They bring out this ridiculous tower of "topping shots." You can dump this entire assembly onto a tortilla and still have room in there for all the meat you need. I'm just going to start bringing a bag of grapes with me to the table, and when the server asks why I'm putting grapes on my tortilla, I'm going to say, "Because you all don't bring enough toppings, and oh by the way, I should never have to request sour cream separately." Both of our appetizers didn't come out before the entrees, and then, somehow 2 of our entrees didn't even get put in apparently. The entrees that did come out we're not hot. One was the chicken fajitas and the skillet wasn't even hot. The 2 people in our party were done eating by the time we got our entrees, and one of the orders wasn't even correct. I can add my displeasure to most of the reviews this place has had over the last year. Slow service, we sat near the kitchen and could watch & hear the staff goofing around while orders sat on the counter waiting to go out. A few months back we came in at just before 4 & the host told us we were in time for the lunch special. The waiter showed up later & said the host was wrong because it was now after 4. We explained that we were seated @ 3:55 and had been sitting for about 8 minutes now. He said he was going to talk to the host & never came back. After 10 minutes we walked out. Perfect place for a dinner date. My boyfriend and i enjoyed their dinner for two with drinks for only $35!! We had a big and delicious house salad then had two presidente margaritas with two entree plates and a salted caramel molten. I was so full by dessert. It was phenomenal . i joined their chili rewards club for free also. Looking forward to returning with friends . Me, my buddy and the Mrs went here for lunch today. I had the Bacon cheese burger, Buddy had the Buffalo sliders and the Mrs. had the black bean burger. Ok to good food. Service is acceptable. Altogether...nothing to write home about.... I can say one thing for sure!!!! The air conditioning works really well in there!!! I was freezing! I am a big guy and usually hot when i eat, but sh_t! Went to Chili's on a Wednesday night and boy was I disappointed!! There was a 20 minute wait to be seated, okay not bad. But when finally seated it took someone 20 minutes to acknowledge our existance and take our drink order. By then we were ready to order. They had an appetizer listed for Parmesean Garlic Sweet Potato fries so we requested them. 10 minutes later our waitress tells us they don't offer them anymore. Okay, nevermind then, we don't want the fries period. Also, did you know if you order the Fajita Trio that it doesn't come with beans and rice? You have to order that as an addition to your meal for extra $$. I open my silverware and there is a crusted piece of old nasty food stuck on my fork. Gross!! Takes the waitress an additional 5 minutes to bring me new silverware. By the time our food finally gets to our table, everything is COLD. My family is starving by now so we just suck it up and eat it because who knows how long it will take to get NEW HOT food. I was VERY disappointed in the service and food. This place is disgusting. My husband wanted to eat at the olive garden however I forgot my purse in my car and we drove in his. I'm thirty two the olive garden wouldn't serve me without an I.D so we walk across the parking lot's here. Getting drinks here was not a problem, although they tasted like a sugar drink with no alcohol. The food was horrible. Tasteless crap the bill was outrageous for the quality of food they served .
