The food here never disappoints. When we are running behind and need breakfast this is our go to. The breakfast burritos are so good. My kids also love the breakfast quesadilla. The portions are huge and I love the spicy carrots. We use DoorDash and the order always arrives fresh and still hot. We have drove past a couple times and it seems to be a convenient and nice location. read more

I ordered the chilaquiles with a Jamica drink. The chilaquiles came with scrambled eggs instead of overeasy which makes all the difference with the yoke. I stated it was my fault and ordered overeasy eggs on the side as a second purchase. It also came with a side of Refried beans that tasted straight out the can. The Jamaica was water down also. I give this place a rating from 1-10 a 3. No bueno. read more

I've been coming to Ferney's for fifteen years or so. Recently, they've cut the amount of salsa that they give you. So, whether I get the California Burrito, the Ferny Burrito or the Big Breakfast Burrito I always ask for for 4 Fea and 3 Green Salsas. Lately they put 6 Salsas in my bag instead of 7. No one mentions it. They've never said to me, listen if you want seven salsas.We need to charge you for the seventh one. You know, at least that way.I could make a decision if I wanted to pay for it or not. They don't say anything.They leave me with six salsas, and I was joking around in my mind, Thinking perhaps they can't count. I've been going there twice a week for years, and once a month or so I get Breakfast Burritos for the entire Office Staff. Recently, I tried another taco shop.Basically, cheating on my buddy, Ferny and that's my new spot now. They don't mind how many salsas I ask for and their food is delicious. As far as food goes, I give Ferny's Five Stars, as far as communication from the girl, behind the counter to the customer, its just not good, That's why they're getting one star on this review. I don't know if the owner's aware of all this, and Im just one small customer. I get it, but Im not going back. read more

Ferny's half off taco Tuesday is the best! My favorite are the fish rolled tacos, shrimp and crispy potato tacos! Quality is great as well. Seating is limited so either you get lucky or get it for to go. read more

This place was recommended to me by a good friend, and she was absolutely right. I really enjoyed this dish called Surf and Turf. My go-to favorites are the Hot Cheetos Burrito, Machaca Burrito, Carnitas Burrito, Bacon & Cheese Breakfast Burrito, and the Carne Asada Curly Fries. The staff treated me very rudely, as if we were getting something for free, and they behaved arrogantly. But they don't realize that we are paying customers, and without us, they wouldn't be able to work. read more

Just went to Ferny's for lunch. I didn't know what to try, so I just went with the 5 rolled tacos. I was disappointed that it was just guacamole & cheese on top, so I had them add lettuce. Flavor was ok, nothing too special. The spot was a typical taco shop. The service was ok. I didn't even realize she was talking to me because she wasn't looking at me at all. I may or may not be back. I just happened to be in the area and decided to try it. I gave it 4 stars because any taquitos that is guacamole & cheese is never 5-stars. I need to give this another try to see if it gets 3 stars or 5 next time. read more

Everything was really good, but their red sauce was super mild and had too much of tomato pasta sauce flavor for us. Ferny's is one of the best taco shops I've found. It's our go-to when we aren't exploring for new places. Their salsa is top notch (our favorite is the Fea/ hottest one). Our go-to orders there are the Steak and egg Breakfast burrito (pro-tip add chipotle cream sauce ), Surf and Turf Fries, carne asada and adobada tacos. This taco shop doesn't look like much from the outside but the tacos were actually very good I loved the spicy shrimp taco. The carne asada was just okay. My friend liked the pork adobo better than the carne asana as well. It just took about five minutes for them to prepare our food There are just a few tables inside and it isn't fancy. I would just suggest getting it to go. read more

This is my go to place for street tacos in Santee. If you ever have a craving for street tacos, this place will definitely satisfy it! I always order three carne asada mini tacos, and get all the salsas on the side. The salsas are tasty, so make sure you get all three. The meat quality seems good and I love that they give you a grilled pepper and grilled green onions on the side. read more

I walked in and made an order to go for a carnitas burrito and a crispy beef taco. I enjoyed the carnitas burrito. It was very simple with the meat (which did have good flavor - pretty solid carnitas), pico, guacamole. I enjoy burritos like this that are simple without rice and beans. It could have been a little bigger. The taco was also good, but not great... for a crispy taco it could have been a little more crispy. The service was fine for a typical take out place. No complaints. A very casual atmosphere. Overall a pretty good spot to pick up some tacos/burritos to go. If you're into loaded French fries, I hear they have good ones here. read more

I've heard over and over again from several friends that this is THE spot for mexican/taco shop in the area and I have to agree... for the tacos. I had a burrito here once and that was not that great in terms of price, portion, and taste, however, I then followed up with the tacos... THE TACOS! The regular (non-mini) tacos themselves are quite pricey, (~$6 each depending on the protein you choose), however, it is so worth it. They are pretty hefty and the amount of protein makes up for it. I am a sucker for a fresh, hand-pressed tortilla, and these do not disappoint. The chew and bite into the tortilla is soft yet firm enough to told the monstrosity of fillings that it comes with. I recommend the fish, carne, and adobada. I decided to try a crispy potato taco for once, something I don't tend to order, but I was pleasantly surprised with how good it was. The crunchy shell was nicely fried and the potato had really great flavor with pico and sour cream on top. wow, I'm a fan now! read more

Great Mexican food when ur in Santee, we use to go here a lot when we lived around this area years ago. The down side I saw was the hot sauces didn't have any spiciness to them and with little flavor other then tomatoes. The veggie burrito was not seasoned as well, it had bell peppers, tomatoes, onions, very little potatoes and beans, it was supposed to have rice in it but I never got to any. The burritos are also on the smaller side which is disappointing because the price is high. The good about this taco shop, the carne asada fries were actually big and good, the carne asada had flavor and there was a lot of it, the diablo burrito was delicious and the diablo sauce was perfect, a little hint of heat but packed with goodness. read more

Very disappointing experience…read more My husband and I were asked to leave after briefly being in the restroom together -- which are non-gendered restrooms -- while he was assisting me with checking my blood sugar levels. This was a medical necessity to ensure my safety. Monitoring blood sugar is not something that can reasonably or appropriately be done out in public, and there was no private space offered or available at the bar to accommodate this medical need. Throughout the evening, I had used the same restroom multiple times with female friends without any issue. The only time staff intervened was when my husband was present specifically to help with a medical situation. We are older adults and long-standing, active members of this community. We rarely go out -- this was for a friend's birthday, something we do maybe once a year. We were with a group of friends who are also older adults, all of whom had been there for some time, simply sitting together and minding our own business, not interacting with or disturbing other patrons. Being removed in front of our friends, without any conversation, clarification, or discretion, was deeply embarrassing and upsetting. A simple, private question or a moment of understanding could have avoided this entirely. I hope management uses this as an opportunity to better train staff on handling medical situations with compassion, discretion, and consistency.

The Oaks proved to be the perfect venue. When we arrived, the group had commandeered several tables in the dining room. Becky and I bellied up the adjacent large horseshoe shaped bar. The TVs were all tuned to various NFL games. A group of Steelers fans were in the dining room next to our group watching and cheering their team on a giant TV. Becky and I wanted to watch the Seahawks. Mike, Director of the Carlton Oaks Country Club, was happy to put it on one of the many TVs for us. We wanted a snack, so we ordered the Potato Skins. Potato halves filled with cheese, bacon bits and chives. They are cut lengthwise in half for easier dipping and eating. Served with ranch and sour cream for dipping. Bottles of Tapatio, Tabasco and Cholula were provided if you wanted to spice it up. They were quite tasty and the perfect portion size. Price was right too! Because of the acoustics, the dining room can get a little loud. If you just want to chill and take in the view, step outside to the patio. Great views of the golf course. Service at the bar was friendly and on point. The large groups in the dining room were being well taken care of as well.

The throwback rock music suits the establishment, and isn't too loud if you want a good convo. There are also lots of TVs both inside and out. Today's server, Lizzy, was so amazing! But 9 bucks for a pint of Ashland Seltzer is crazy. 2 Spicy Chicken Deluxe Sliders $16 Pepper jack cheese, lettuce, tomato, pickles, house sauce and shoestring fries. They were decent, but not even remotely spicy. Chicken was cooked well with crunchy exterior and not dried out inside. Zero spice. If anything, the sauce on them was sweet. 2 Double Double Wagyu Beef Sliders $18 American cheese (subbed pepper jack), grilled onions, house sauce and shoestring fries. Inedible. Two overcooked hockey pucks in a bun. Two bites were all I could stomach. 18 bucks for burnt burgers. The fries were good and plentiful. I appreciated the pickle wedge. Service was sluggish at best. At one point we had to flag down a different server and ask to have ours return. We had been waiting, with empty drink glasses, to order our meals. She was friendly enough, just not very attentive. Nah, don't need to return.

Maura kindly introduced us to her family members. Every member of the staff that served us was upbeat, efficient and fun to interact with. We loved, Zulma, Savannah, especially but everyone was outstanding. The food was incredibly delicious! We were able to sample meals other's had, but we thoroughly enjoyed our carnitas platters. Wisely- we saved room for dessert by taking part of our meal home. Great, little restaurant with a superb atmosphere, great food at great prices, and super staff!
