Came here with our elderly parents for a weekend dinner. My parents are difficult customers for many reasons lol, and the waiter assigned to us was so gentle, respectful, patient and all around professional. We appreciated him so much and I'll never forget his face as he was just that wonderful. The food was great as well, per usual with Chili's. My family and I were celebrating my sisters birthday at this Chili's. I told the woman seating us that it was my sisters birthday (secretly) so my sister would be surprised. A few things about tonight: One of my sisters is a vegan. No dairy or eggs, or meat (obviously). She asked the waitress if there was any kind of dairy in the veggie fajitas. The waitress said just the cheese, chipotle butter, sour cream, and butter in the rice so my sister asked for without those things. The fajitas came (my dad ordered shrimp ones, they weren't sizzling like always which is pet of the fun of it, but not a big deal) and my sisters had a black bean burger on it. My sister asked if there was any dairy or egg in it since she didn't notice the fajitas describing having a black bean burger. The waitress then showed us the allergen menu, which informed us that there was in fact both dairy and egg in the patty. My sister chose not to eat it (obviously). The problem is that we asked in the first place if there was dairy in the entire meal and the waitress did not mention at all the dairy ingredients in the black bean burger. Luckily my sister does not have an anaphylactic reaction to thee ingredients, but someone else can. Could be very dangerous.... Overall food was "ok", our waitress forgot some of the food/refills we asked for, one sister didn't eat. And there was no birthday celebration! Should I talk about Chili's in general or speak relatively to the location. I think I'll do both. Chili's food is just awesome. The taste is always so delicious, and has always seem to deliver it at the appropriate temps. The wait staff always seem to be up beat and attentive. And......you gotta love their margaritas! Pair that up with a sizzling fajita and BAM!!!.....ya got some tasty chain restaurant food. It's funny though but Chili's always seems to have the same ingredients, but gives their food a different name. For example, the "chicken crispers" turned into "crispy chicken crispers," and a few other meals have changed their names. I guess if you have to add one extra ingredient to the entree you have to give it a new name. But that's how Chili's works, they gotta keep their name fresh in people's ears. As far as this location, I LOVE this spot! I think it's due to the Farmington Valley clientele that this location lives to its high standards and expectation. The real wait time is 15 to 20 minutes. That's just to be seated in a half full restaurant. Nobody gives a damn they are all walking around like there is nothing to do. Then after your seated the wait staff tell you the wait person takes another 20 minutes to even show up t b en it takes another 20 minutes to get your order. There are good chain restaurants, and then there are good restaurants that happen to be a chain. The Chilis on rte. 44 in Simsbury falls into the latter. My wife and I came for dinner on a Friday night, prepared for an appropriate wait, mainly because this location always has a waiting line. In 20 minutes we were seated. Within a minute, our waitress (pardon, but I cannot stand the gereric, PC title of "server," it cheapens what the waiter or waitress should actually be doing, in my opinion) offered us drinks. We chose margaritas which were large, icy and came with a rim of large sugar crystals instead of satl. A pleasant touch. For starters we shared a Boneless Buffalo Wings appetizer, which really hit the spot. We asked for extra blue cheese, and our waitress said, "No problem," and returned within 2 minutes with the extra cup. Dinner time, My wife had BBQ ribs, and I had one of their features, Chipotle Chicken fajitas. I don't usually order this dish, opting instead for something I can cut and chew right away...but the sound of it intrigued me. I was not disappointed. A great portion of seasoned chicken, cooked with plenty of onions and peppers with a good chipotle kick. I asked for some hot sauce, and again the waitress said, "No problem, and quickly returned, not only with a bottle of Tobasco, but also a side dish of the same Buffalo sauce used to drench the boneless wings earlier. Nice! My wife's ribs were the usual fall-off-the-bone tender, and came with a side of REAL mashed potatoes! Although we both were eyeing the Chocolate Molten dessert on the back of the menu, we were both too stuffed. The thing that set this place apart for me was not only how accomodating our waitress was whenever we asked for something, but the timing of the service was perfect. We never felt rushed, like we were "turnovers" to be fed and shooted out for the next group. We sat and enjoyed, and were allowed to enjoy the afterglow between courses. Terrible service. We had to get the attention of the staff not once or twice, but three times, in one night. Once for the drinks, once for the plates, once for the refills. We got our refills right when we were leaving. Our waiter never checked in on us, to see how the food was, didn't check to see if we needed anything. I'm not the biggest fan of chain restaurants because they all seem the same with their manufactured menus with the same five burger selections and the same drinks only with different names. Chili's really is no exception. I went in there a few nights ago for drinks with some friends, sat in the bar on a rather slow night and still had the slowest service possible. it took ten minutes to even be acknowledged and served and once it was closing time, even though the manager was giving us the 'get the hell out of here' look, it still took our server a good 10 minutes to take my card to process the payment. Absolute travesty of a quesadilla explosion salad. Should have sent it back but just didn't care enough (guess I care enough to post a review!) We had our 2 little ones with us so going out to dinner needs to be fairly quick and seamless. Anyway. Super wet iceburg lettuce with some sporadic mushy leaves. Little to no beans and corn, also very few tortilla strips. We don't frequent Chili's much anymore, been a while, but the Bristol one always did a pretty good job. I'm pretty sure you know what you're gonna get from Chillis by now. Cold, cheap beer in big mugs, delicious appetizers, and a few good entrees. Last night we had a few beers and dinner before a movie. The server was on point and super friendly. Our skillet of hot and cheesy queso goodness came out pretty quickly. Just watch out for those super oil soaked chips. You can't bite those guys. I got the new smoked chicken quesadilla which was pretty damn good, and my girlfriend got the fajitas. Not the best fajitas. Meat was rubbery and wayyyy over seasoned. All of the other fajita accoutrements were up to par though. Oh, and side note, that new California chicken flatbread pizza is money. Salad was very good size and they have a great lime vinaigrette. Burgers are a great size and compared to places like Burgerfi in the same parking lot, that's why I came here. Went to this Chili's today and ordered the Mushroom Swiss burger. It came out dripping with grease and I could squeeze it out like a sponge. First my steak for the fajitas was rare so I had to send it back. They need to start cleaning their regular menus and the kiosk/game systems that are on each table better as they were very sticky. So, this Chili's location has been going down hill for a long time. The service there is spotty at best, but we go because the kids like the food. That said, I recently had a pretty terrible online delivery experience and I wanted to share my story. It was Friday, Feb 21, 2020. It was my last day of work because I had been laid off from my job. Both the kids were at friends' houses and my fiancé was at work. I decided to order some Chicken Nachos and watch a movie. You know, treat myself to a comfy night at home with some junk food after a long and stressful week. I went to the Chili's website to order my food when I noticed this store offered delivery. So I selected that option, ordered my nachos and sat back to wait for my food to arrive. The Chili's website said it would arrive in about 1 hour. Seemed reasonable... I then got a text message from Chili's with a link to the Chili's website where I could see my order progress and status. After some time went by, I clicked the link and noticed that no progress had been made on my order. But I waited because sometimes those things aren't accurate. After an hour went by I got another text from Chili's saying my order was delayed and it would arrive in another hour! I can wait 1 hour for food but waiting 2 hours for junk food seemed silly to me. When I clicked the link there was a message that said, "If you'd like to cancel your order, please contact the store." Here's where things really went south... I called the store to cancel. The first girl who answered the phone had no idea how to cancel my order. She told me I needed to cancel on the DoorDash app. I DON'T EVEN HAVE A DOORDASH ACCOUNT. I do NOT have the DoorDash app on my phone. I didn't order the food from DoorDash. I ordered the food at www.chilis.com. Since this girl couldn't help me, she transferred me to a manager. The manager explained to me that their deliveries are done through DoorDash and that she'd have to call the Chili's Corporate Office to figure out how to cancel my order because they could not cancel it from the Simsbury store. She said she'd call me back. She never did and my food was never delivered. Not even 2 hours late. The charge sat on my credit card for 3 weeks! I intermittently called the Chili's store in Simsbury and spoke to that manager again (who had several excuses as to why she never called me back each time) and a couple of other managers who also said they'd call me back and never did. No one could refund the charge to my credit card. They all said the same thing, that they emailed their corporate office to try to figure out how to refund the money but no one was emailing them back to let them know how. I spoke to one reasonable Chili's employee who said, "I think we should just give you a bunch of gift cards to make up for your bad experience but no one will listen to me." I would have LOVED for someone to offer me some gift cards. I would have given them to my kids and they would have loved it! It certainly would have been a better customer service experience than hearing excuse after excuse about why they couldn't cancel my order, refund my money or call me back. To make a long story short, I finally gave up on the useless staff at the Chili's store in Simsbury and messaged Chili's directly through Facebook. There they asked me for my order number and they refunded my money within 24 hours of me contacting them. I was stunned that I could send a message on Facebook and have the matter resolved within a day, when none of the staff or managers at the physical Chili's location in Simsbury could figure out how... They really should be embarrassed about their poor customer service skills, not calling me back when they said they would, and not being able to figure out how to refund a customer for an order they never received. That's just stealing and it's wrong. read more

We haven't been to Chili's in years. We received a gift card and decided to grab a quick lunch there. The staff was friendly , professional and attentive. My wife had the chicken ranch salad, I had Chili's original chili burger with fries. The salad was large and very tasty. The burger I had, without a doubt is the best burger I've had in years. We came here late afternoon for a few drinks but had to wait at the front door for about 10 minutes before someone eventually noticed us and sat us at a table. Once there, we waited another 10 minutes before the waitress came by. She apologized profusely afterward and her service was great after that. She obviously knew we had been ignored for a while. Okay. It's Chili's. It's a chain restaurant. But service is almost always good here and the food is Chili's. Really what brings us here is the chips and salsa. They are frankly amazing. Just picked up a to go order. I placed it over the phone the woman read everything back off to me and it all sounded correct. Was told 20 minutes for 6 meals. I waited longer to pick it up Bc of the fact it was 6 meals and that's a lot and i figured let me give them some extra time. I arrived at to up my food at 12:07 pm i didn't leave with my orders until 12:59. I literally waited at the to go counter along with another girl for an hour for my food. That's just ridiculous. It was busy in chillis but no so busy that a to go order should take almost 2 hours to get finished. Anytime i spoke to anyone they just kept saying "your orders being put together" and after hearing that for the 5th time or more i got mad and ask where my orders were bc I'm on the clock at work and we're all hungry and want to actually eat our lunch today. The food finally came and it's not very warm anymore. Otherwise just okay. Nothing spectacular by any means. We visited here on a whim this Monday. I like the atmosphere here. Its welcoming. We sat down and began our Chili's lunch. Both of us got a lunch item off the menu and ordered some coffee. Ten minutes later I was informed by our waitress that my lunch only comes with chicken or pork. I ordered steak. These are fajitas. A simple menu choice. Plus a dollar during any other time I guess that that button was broken during lunch and was impossible to substitute. Fine. Instead of paying an extra $7.00 for steak in my fajita I ordered Pork. Horrid mistake. I also asked for coffee with sugar. And did mention that I wanted a generous amount of sugar. Along with my coffee came a small sweetener caddy with sugar. 3 sugar packets. Out if maybe 40 other sweet and low and equals. Oh well. Let's turn to the good side. After about an hour our food came out. On lunch on a Monday. Not so good. I ate only 1/4 of my meal because of the deplorable taste and texture. Besides, I was busy looking at all the food left on all of my utensils, glass, and plate. That small container that they bring your tortillas in was COVERED in ugly thick oil. There's no oil in tortillas. Where did this magical Labraya Tar pit come from?? I'm not sure. Terrible service. Nobody working here takes responsibility. Half our food was wrong, and the rest of the group was finished by time we got ours. The guy who brought out the food actually threw his co-worker under the bus. They also were out of some of the sides, but didn't say anything until the food arrived. They pulled the same garbage to other tables near by with different waiters. It took close to 2 hours to finish the meal due to how slow and incompetent they are. Absolute 5 star visit tonight. We had a server we have never seen before. Hands down best service we have had at this location. Our order was delivered perfectly from salads to deserts. Every piece of our meal was executed the way it should be. The cheese on my salad was "fluffy" and not a wet sticky mess like I have had on other occasions. My steak was cooked med-rare like I asked and the butter on top had just started to melt as it hit my table. For whatever reason even the butter tasted like it never has before, almost like this was my first time tasting it even tho I've had it countless times. Believe it or not, some food chains can surprise you. Chili's in Simsbury was doing a dinner special on their baby back ribs. Chili's always does a great job with these ribs. We all ordered this full rack special. The waitress was perfect. Her name was Jackie. If you could ask for her by name, I would highly recommend her. The meal, great. Beer was cold. A group of 4 of us went here while we were out for a day trip. We went into what looked like a run down main entrance, but it was a back entrance and then we had to walk through the dining area to get to the hostess station to be seated. My coworkers and I used to come here after work for appetizers and drinks. Service was friendly and typically fast depending on the night of the week. Recently it seems everyone is disgruntled and the wait time for food is alot longer than it used to be. We still come in once a month or so but it's not a celebrated event like it used to be. We ordered our lunch using the app and it included soup or salad. One person ordered the potato soup that was offered, but when I went to pick it up the person explained that potato soup isn't offered in the north but clam chowder is which isn't on that drop down screen, but clam chowder isn't offered in the south only the potato. I think with today's technology this should be an easy fix. Offer what is available in what ever region you are ordering from since you also have to pick which restaurant your picking you food up at. read more

This is the worst Chili's I've ever been to in my entire life. When I arrived with my boyfriend, we saw about two open tables in the bar area that had not been cleaned. The two hostesses said if you stand in front of them someone will be over... ten minutes passed by and as we watched those same hostesses dance around in the lobby, the tables were left uncleaned until another person at a different table said how we were waiting for someone to clean it. Talk about customer service. In addition, we then waited over an hour for two simple dishes that at any other Chili's would deliver quickly but everyone around us who got here later all had their food. The manager and the hostesses of this establishment are such a joke. Atleast they have nice and hard working waiters/waitresses. This chili's should close as it shouldn't even be considered a place of work. They should look into hiring hostesses that do more than talk and run around a busy place.
