9/16/18 Unfortunately this will be the last time I eat here. The service was terrible. The wait was unacceptable for a mostly empty dining area and plenty of waitresses hanging around. The food wasn't even warm when it was served. My family and I spent almost two hours there to have mac and cheese kids meals and chicken crispers adult meals. No adult beverages were ordered, yet to get our water and kids sodas it took over 5 minutes and another 15 on top of that to get unsweetened iced tea. Sorry Chili's. We won't be coming back. 4/29/16 This used to be one of my favorite places to eat. Now it has become a hassle to enjoy the "dinner out" experience here. The last time I was there it was a party of four, two of the meals came out perfect ( as ordered) the other two were both incorrect. They were sent back and the second time they came out they were still incorrect. ( One was steak cooked medium- first time came out well done second time came out rare. The second was chicken and steak fajitas with no lime- first time came out as chicken and shrimp. The second time came out with the correct meats but with lime.). It's usually busy, but there always seems to be an ample amount of staff on hand. I love their food, but the constant incorrect orders makes me not happy to come back. read more

My family and I ordered take out and Im highly disappointed. The food was pretty good. But we ordered 5 rib dinners and the guy that we got the order from said he double checked to make sure everything was there and when we got home we were missing 1 of the rib dinner which we weren't mad about at first but we left them a tip in cash and just felt like we should get the money back for one rib dinner so we called back before they closed and pete the manager picked up and we told him and he said he would check and put us on hold then kept us on hold for 15 mins so we hung up and called back and now there was no answer so he clearly didn't want to apologize or give us our money back. I really didn't care about the money, it was the principal. I don't think ill be back for awhile with the way they handle things. read more

A pretty decent place to eat. There's a huge menu that changes somewhat frequently so there's always something new to try, along with new cocktails and drinks on a regular basis. Staff is normally friendly and you'll be able to get some great conversation out of the bartenders. This location offers a to-go option, however every time I've use it there's been a substantial wait. I wish they wouldn't allow kids in the bar area though, I'd like to eat my meal without hearing kids screaming. read more

I ordered a full rack of honey chipotle ribs which comes with 2 sides. I chose French fries & loaded mash. My loaded mash were missing. I live 30 minutes away from the nearest chili's so I was not going to drive back to pick up my mashed potatoes. Not too happy about that but it's what happened prior that upset me the most. The other issue I had was with the customer service I received. I walked in through the front of the restaurant where I stood for 5 minutes while I peeked around the corner & noticed the "to-go" section was on the opposite side. (Mind you, as I stood in the wrong section no one acknowledged me at all). When the front entrance of the restaurant doesn't have anyone present to seat or greet their customers & people are just staring at me without coming up to me, that's a problem. Granted I stood in the wrong place (This is my 1st to-go order ever) but even if I were dining in not a single employee acknowledged my existence & I made eye contact with quite a few, so obviously people noticed but didn't seem to care. Once I peeked around the corner, I walked to the "to-go" section there was no one there either, so I wandered in front of the side booth they have right outside the kitchen where this VERY rude employee caught an attitude when I didn't hear her state that "to-go" orders were being filled at the bar, the first time (mind you, she also didn't greet me so I had no clue who the hell she was talking to when she first addressed me). This was the first employee interaction I had since I walked through the door and it was extremely upsetting. Giving your customer an attitude for having to repeat yourself after you haven't even acknowledged their presence is definitely more than uncalled for. A simple "Hi, if you're looking to pick up the takeout order please head to the bar", would've sufficed. I'm not asking for the impossible here. But I was already unimpressed with how disorganized things were & that really ticked me off because this girl decides to give me an attitude for whatever reason & that's the FIRST interaction with an employee I receive. Once I did reach the bar, the gentleman who assisted me was very pleasant. My receipt says his name is "Luis". I paid for my order and left. The "to-go" section is unorganized. You should have employees readily available to greet the customers as they walk in through the door like any other restaurant. Some of the employees here need to seriously learn manners & if they can't control their feelings, they shouldn't be working customer service jobs to begin with. Chili's is a solid 3 star restaurant and is one of our favorite corporate run restaurants. If we want to go out to dinner but the exchange is "where do you want to go? You pick." With the response being " I don't know" 9 times out of 10 we end up here. I've had great experiences and I've had terrible experiences here. With that being said every experience with Kim is memorable and hospitable; she has become our favorite. I recently ordered their ribs, which I have never done before, and they're actually really amazing. I would easily get them again. However, my go to dish is the chipotle chicken fresh mex Bowl. Chili's recently changed their rice and it has made all the difference. With the cilantro rice they had before the rice was hard and chewy- now it has the perfect bite and is seasoned just right. I love their tequila sunrise margarita. It is the best one they have in my opinion. It is never watered down but the flavor combinations are spectacular. read more

The food is always bad here. I come here for one thing. The molten chocolate cake. They mess that up too. Sometimes they get it right. But not this last Friday. The cake comes out with no chocolate shell and no chocolate sauce. I ask about it and they go Pour some chocolate sauce on it. Still no shell. I ask about it and the waiter said that this is the way they make it. I told her that it's not because I have been coming here for years. She calls the manager. This guy with an apron and beard. Did not even look at me or talk to me. Whispers to the waiter to make it again. I told her that there is no need for that. I was just telling her that there is no shell. She keeps telling me that this is how it's made. Now that I think about it I realize my ice cream was not very cold at all. That's why the shell won't form. There was a light see- through shell. Get the bacon burger, absolutely delicious. It's greasy, bacon-y, tasty, heavenly happy food. We loved our food and the entire staff, from the host to the manager, was friendly, helpful and made our experience great. We are new to the area and will be coming here or getting take our often. Had to wait for over 10 minutes in a separate room before I was even spoken to. Ordered take out. Was given no silverware. No honey mustard. Which is in the description in the menu. The corn was inedible. Brown, corn is usually yellow or white. Enchiladas were to cold to eat. Had to wait till I had a microwave. read more

Just awful. I walked in on a rainy Sunday, just looking for a quick late lunch with my family. We ordered 2 salads, chicken strips and a flatbread. While waiting kids played monopoly on portable tablet on table, meal came out in reasonable time but both salads were soggy, shrimp were tiny on salad, flatbread was soft, not crisp and came out with no toppings (my son ordered chicken and bacon)! Server was nice but not around, did not come back to check on meal but did bring another round of fountain drinks. I paid on kiosk at table and saw a 1.99 charge for table entertainment, I was furious! Not one place on tablet or at table did it indicate a charge for playing a game. I will call and talk to management, I will never return, shame on this Waterbury store for keeping such poor standards, I may even complain up on a corporate level. I don't know what's going on with all the bad reviews, but I just moved to Waterbury and I've eaten here 3 times already and each time has been great. First time was dine-in and our server was lovely and our food came out hot and fresh. Last 2 times, I did take-out and my food remained hot until I got home. I always get the Honey Chipotle Crispers with fries and loaded mash potatoes. I've been very happy with this Chili's so far and I hope it stays that way!! read more

This is by far the WORST Chili's I've ever stepped foot in to. There was a massive wait outside while many dirty tables were just sitting there for at least 15 minutes while we waited to place our to go order. An employee came in (wearing NO mask) for her shift and put her bare feet on the bench and e were sitting on right next to us to put her SOCKS ON. Another employee got upset with the phones ringing and screamed 'you're going to have to F*cking wait' aloud while others sat there stunned listening to what we just listened to. This place needs management and cameras so this can all be viewed by someone to fix this. This location is clearly understaffed because all of the employees are running around looking lost while people are upset asking why they've waited 25+ mins for their order to come out.. I'm honestly shocked that this Chili's is still in business. I do NOT suggest going here at all. read more

God almighty the food at this place should not be called food! I wanna say right off the bat that our waitress was a sweetheart; very attentive, understanding, enthusiastic, polite- literally everything you could need or want in a waitress. I feel bad for her because I can only imagine the complaints she gets about the food. Went out with a party of six for lunch. Two of us sent the food back without ordering anything else. I was too embarrassed to send mine back as well so I didn't say anything. But let me tell you, it was INEDIBLE. I ordered the bacon avocado chicken sandwich on Texas toast instead of a pretzel bun. It came out on dry tasteless wheat bread. The sandwich had NO avocado in it, how do you forget an ingredient that's in the title of the menu item? When I politely asked for a side of avocado I waited 10 minutes for one of the food runners to bring me a wet plate of four measly, sad, browned avocado slices (check my pictures). It was kind of insulting. The "spring mix" that was supposed to be in the sandwich was, in fact, wilted shredded iceberg lettuce. The chicken was hard as a rock and seasoned so poorly I think I would rather eat my dogs food. I took two bites of the sandwich and pushed it away. My friends said that the rice and beans in their meal tasted like they were days old and microwaved. The manager came over and he was a total prick, excuse me, but definitely did not seem apologetic about anything and actually argued about what a heat lamp is. This place needs to get rid of their cook and manager and hire more people like the poor waitress who busts her behind to make sure the customers are happy. Went tonight and had a great experience! Our server, tony, was awesome, and the food was great too! SO MUCH better than my last experience! We had the 2 for $22 deal- baby back ribs and steak fajitas (for a slight upcharge- TOTALLY worth it)- and my husband had the prime rib tacos- no complaints at all!!! I come here sometimes with the other interns during our lunch hour. We love the lunch combos on the back of the menu because the portions are perfect, plus they are cheap! (Great for us interns, lol!) Service has been very friendly, though sometimes they are a bit slow getting the check. They are really great about separating checks and making sure you get the right check. I usually get the BLT sandwich lunch combo with the salad. I am not a big fan of southwest soups, but one of the other interns always get the tortilla soup and loves it. We always get an order of chips with bean dip to split. I love that the chips are made fresh, and are lightly crisp. The bean dip is very good. The decor of the restaurant has been nicely updated, but just wished that there was a bit more lighting. I have never been there for dinner, but it's good to sit back, relax and eat during lunch hour. read more

BOTH times that I come here I witnessed several employees being rude to another an employee who clearly has a disability. This is absolutely not okay and completely disgusting. This establishment is not doing ANYTHING by hiring a person with a disablity just to have that person be treated unfairly and completely disrespectfully. Would those employees speak like that to their other employees that don't have a disability? No. Teach your staff to GROW UP and learn how to have patience and to be kinder to those around them. It's usually pretty busy, the food is alright, and for the most part, you're probably eating here because you're nearby, anyways. So the convenience factor is a big plus. What can I say? It's Chili's. Don't expect anything beyond the usual chain restaurant fare, and a healthy marketing for 1001 different margarita flavors. And by healthy, I of course do not mean 'health-healthy'. Service was good. We were never abandoned by our waitress, and she seemed to read our minds before we could request refills. The first time I came here, the manager was sitting in the waiting area, on her phone. She left right away when she saw our family waiting. The place looked great, but the employees were hell. They were finished placing food, and so many just left and looked at their screens. 5 of them had nothing to do, and we waited for 20 minutes. They still never cared. The people were honestly rude, watching us wait, and when they had nothing to do, just walked away. They were mainly teenagers just doing what they were told to do to get some money. The manager looked under 40, with a grumpy frown on her face, as if she was saying "I don't care if you're waiting or not, I'm getting my money." When we were so finished with waiting, we walked out. This was the worst salmon I ever ate, it was burnt , over cooked, overly salted, not to mention a very small piece. Everything was overly salted. Poor presentation, I know its takeout but still at least make it look decent and don't give your takeout customers the worst piece of meat in the kitchen... I was greeted at the door with a 15 minute wait, conveniently was alerted by text so I could go shopping in the local stores. We came back when we got the alert and had to wait another 5 minutes because they were not actually prepared yet. The restaurant was littered with debris, and tables that were not cleared for another 30 minutes after we got there. My girlfriend had ordered a water and I ordered root beer, the waitress came back 10 minutes later with a water and to inform me they didn't have any soda. The water tasted of orange fanta, which is concerning that they probbably were not washing the cups. Over all the waitress was nice, but it was not a very pleasant experience. read more

Have not been in since they redid the place. Looks great from the highway. Didn't care for their Margaritas at all, but their burgers and onion rings are elite. Deserts are great as well. Parking is not the greatest, especially late night weekends, but there is plenty of it. Staff is very friendly. Prices are average for the type of restaurant it is and the fact that it is right off the highway. I usually spend around $10 plus tip. Drinks bring that total to $20. Easy to find and easily able to hop on and off the highway. Definitely one of the better chain restaurants in the Waterbury area. read more
