Now if you have never heard me talk about my chimichangas, you have never read a Mexican food review of mine. Now that's ok, I won't fault you for that. But before we proceed you should know that I try a chimi everywhere I go. In other words I've become somewhat of an expert in that field. So of course my first time here I ordered the chimichanga plate. Excited and not giving much thought about it I ordered even after reading the description that listed beans as one of the main fillers. Chimis come different ways so I guess I didn't think about it, but there was already the same beans on my plate. So I had chicken and beans wrapped up on a fried tortilla. Needless to say I wasn't impressed but then again I should have made better note of the menu. Even with that it was bland and didn't hit the Mexican food note I was wanting. I read a couple of reviews talking about the salsa. While it wasn't over the top amazing it was really good. Perfect amount of heat for mouth. Service was great. Very nice woman who made sure we had everything we needed. Eh I don't see this as a place I visit often. But I will go back to give it another shot. read more

I like to support local family owned businesses and have been coming here for about 15 years here and there. It's not the greatest food but it's close to our house. Tonight was my final time to eat here. Staff was very slow, asked for salsa twice, got it when I was finally finished eating. Drink sat empty and asked twice for refill. Ordered fajitas we got three tortillas, I asked THE OWNER who was usually nice why they charge .95 for 3 tortillas (I only asked for one) He gave me a crappy look and said why wouldn't we charge? I said I only need one, he opened up the tortilla container as if he was gonna grab two out and said don't worry about it I'll take care of it. But like everything else this visit he forgot. $1.10 FOR ONE TORTILLA. What a disappointing dinner. Won't be back. read more

We just had Chilitos cater one of our events. It was a huge hit! Everyone loved the food. Becky and her team did an amazing job and everyone was very satisfied. We ate, went on the lake, came back and ate some more. My favorite were the beef fajitas and crispy tacos with rice and beans. Can't be beat! read more

I have lived in Lake Dallas for 8 months now, and I finally found a go to restaurant without driving to Lewisville or Denton. 3 of us split a large order of nachos, 1/2 chicken 1/2 ground beef, and an order of carnitas. Both were spot on. The flavor of the meats was fantastic, and the carnitas were perfectly tender. If I don't want to drive more than 10 minutes to eat, this will now be my go to restaurant in the Lake Dallas, Hickory Creek, Corinth area. read more

My husband and I went there for the first time last night. IT WAS AMAZING!!!!!! Great food! Excellent service! Friendly atmosphere! And the salsa was spicy and perfect!!! Once the manager/ owner found out that it was our first time he gave us a BUNCH of food to try so that we could taste a bunch of things off their menu. I had the #1 "Shady Shores" which is the Ranch Enchiladas and they were super good. My husband got the Tamales. Ooh, he loved those! They make everything their in the kitchen but their talales. My girlfriend and I tried this place last night and we were both really disappointed. First, the service was horrible. We didn't know who are server was (the Manager didn't even acknowledge us as she walked by). Our drinks were empty for at least 20 mins in total. My girlfriend finally asked where the tea pitcher was so she could fill her tea. The food was either to bland or way over seasoned (the beans were way to salty, which we understand things happen, but if you pour the entire salt container in there, please start over with a new batch). I got the Carne Guisada (which when I ordered I was corrected by the server on how it was pronounced, which she was completely wrong on this), and it was not good. There was WAY to much fat on the meat. The sauce was ok, but you could tell it was a day or 2 old. The chips were stale and the salsa was from a jar. The queso was from a can (nacho cheese) with some chili powder in it. My girlfriend ordered the beef fajita chimichanga, which was super greasy and had no flavor other than 3 day old grease. There was about 3 strips of meat in the whole thing and the rest was beans and I don't know what else. It took 15 mins to get our drinks to us (water and tea). There was a family of 6 that came in approx. 20 mins after us and they had their chips, drinks, food, and paid and left way before we had. We were there in total for about an hr and a half just waiting and waiting. I am not one to not tip, so I left a few dollars. We will NOT be going back. read more

Americanized Mexican food...we like it, but as a few other reviewers said, don't go if you are in a rush. We've been here several times so we are used to the laid back atmosphere - walk in and they expect you to sit anywhere. They have a new bar which looks awesome, but the tables are the fold out ones you rent for parties. It's family owned so you either get a kinda grumpy seeming lady or a new not trained very well waitress. Food is good - salsa is definitely homemade which is a plus. We've done takeout here and they charge for containers which sucks, but otherwise the prices are decent. My fiancé and I can eat in here for under $20. read more

I used to love this place. The staff was helpful and friendly, the food was fast and good... but something has changed. The last several times we have ordered from here to go the service is extremely slow and don't seem to care if you have been helped or not, the food is cold, they charge for to go containers and it is way too expensive for what you get. The last 2 times our food was cold, the salsa wasn't good, the cheese inside the enchiladas wasn't even melted. We moved to another local Mexican food place that is MUCH better. read more

Been going here randomly for years only cause it's local when I didn't want to drive up the freeway, but decided not to go after my last two visits... food is nothing to right home about and staff is blah, but the male owner did it in for me this last visit when I asked for another tortilla to finish off my fajitas. I was charged a 1.20 and when asked why I was charged for this he gave a smart ass answer of why wouldn't we charge. Lol well cause no other Mexican restaurant on the planet does...I thought that was kind of ridiculous so that's my last visit to this place.. This is a local place to me, but I only discovered it after my riders club took me there. They have a homemade sauce that is addictive, and a great Chili Relleno. Definitely get their tacos. Fresh corn fried tortillas. Prices are very reasonable. This is a family restaraunt, so you won't be getting these exact meals anywhere else. Sometimes you know when you find a gem in the rough and the euphoria surges through you, when I eat at chilitos there is an undescribable joy that reaches deep beyond my senses and soul, I feel safe and comfortable. Nourished and cozy. There's nothing better than family and these people really make you feel that way. Taco Tuesday's are the best, not only a unique hand made taco with a warm crunchy shell, also delicious and hastily prepared. The guacamole!? Stop, it needs a consumer discretion 'not to fucking hurt yourself on it'. The Pacifico is always fresh and the Rita's aren't bad either. They have a juke box that has grime in it. That's right you can listen to jme and have wonderful enchiladas at the same time. 'It's happened'. Sometimes the margarita is a little too frozen, and Becky the main bartender isn't the most attentive, but I forgive her because she's super sweet and means well. I would have given this a 5 except that the service was a little slow. Other than that, it was great. The salsa is absolutely delicious! My frozen margarita was awesome and all the food was very delicious. I got the Corinth (#9) tacos - 2 beef fajita tacos with corn tortillas: two corn tortillas (4 in all) with yummy beef fajita strips (4 juicy, thick strips per taco) grilled green peppers and onions, rice and beans on the side. Delish! My husband got the fajita nachos (full order) - the meat is tender, juicy, amazing. My kids got cheeseburgers (they are 11 and 6) with french fries. Burgers and fries were great as well. The servers were friendly. There were not many people in the restaurant - only 3 other tables of guests. Service was a bit slow, but we were not in a rush. The food here was not good. We ordered queso with beef to start and it smelled horrible and tasted like salty goo. I refused to eat it or allow my children to eat it, so it was a waste of $6-7. I ordered the fajita chicken quesadilla and they put way too much onion in it. After one bite I opened all 4 pieces up to find only 4 small pieces of fajita chicken amongst the entire thing. My kids enjoyed their kids meals of cheese enchiladas. One of my daughters plate's came out without the rice and beans so we had to wait for them to fix that which took a few minutes. They offer large portions of yummy food for a good price. My husband and I went for breakfast and enjoyed the breakfast burrito and tacos. The owner and her staff are friendly and provide a good atmosphere. We can't wait to go back to try lunch or dinner. Just keep in mind that they don't open until 10am on the weekend for breakfast.
