The staff here are super friendly, but unfortunately I am not a fan of the "Boba Tea" I ordered from here. Dear God. At least the single girl working the drinks seemed nice, but this is probably the worst tasting experience I've had in months (close to the salty Cajun in Marquette MI). Yikes. Boba tasted sour, smoothie tasted... well idk. Not sweet, kind of sour/bitter. Just a VERY strange flavor. This isn't the typical authentic boba milk tea but it will do. After a few visits, I think we've finally found a combination that is enjoyable - tiramisu bubble tea with coffee jelly and blended ice. It's really more of a smoothie than boba tea. Their classic milk tea is too light in tea flavor and too sugary. And since we're usually there in the morning, the tapioca is normally not ready to be served yet so we've given up on trying to order that. I always come here for the green milk tea and ask for half sweet and add coffee jelly. Today I wanted to try the milk tea smoothie/slushie with tapioca.I asked for less sugar. I feel like she could put less sugar/ syrup but I didn't drink it right away so the ice melted and even out the sweetness. This place uses milk tea powder which I am not a big fan of. Aside from Noodles Pho You that sells boba drinks, this is the only place that have decent/ok boba drinks (obviously , can't compare to Chinatown's boba drinks!) No wait today so that's a plus! Also, this is in Yorktown mall. Free parking and food court is upstairs. Price is decent. I got an original size for $4.13 . I'm really happy that this time when I went to Chill Bubble Tea there were two employees working - one making drinks and another taking orders. It made the process quicker so you don't have 4-5 people waiting on their drink. Therefore I'm a fan of Chill Bubble Tea. I got the Milk Tea, MangoDew & Mocha Bean and they were all fantastic just like last time. The Milk Tea is one of my favorites that is for sure. I hope the trend of two employees working at once carries on to get customers in and out and happy with their beverage. Ventured into the mall just to try Chill. First time so had to stick with basics, boba milk tea. Was I ever disappointed. Knew I was in trouble when the drink was made in 40 secs and from powder. Powdered tea? Tasted like chocolate milk with an artificial sweeteners aftertaste. Strangest taste. Where's the tea? Perhaps I've been spoiled from Toronto. Usually an individual serving of freshly pressure brewed tea made to order and mixed with cream and boba goodness. Nothing like it! No powder involved. And... Priced the same. But at Chill? The bobba was okay. I got a classic mocha bean with tapioca. The tapioca is very soft and they don't give you that much. It's a nice flavor, isn't priced too bad and it was a good sized drink. I had to ask a lot of questions and the employee wasn't very informative. I tried bubble tea for the first time over the weekend at the Naperville Forever Yogurt and found myself craving it today while at work. Thanks to my fellow Yelpers, I found Chill Bubble Tea just up the street at Yorktown mall! Woohoo! BRB, co-workers! I told the girl what I'd had before (iced black milk tea with almond syrup & tapioca) and asked for something similar. She patiently explained some options, adding that they don't have flavored syrup but they do have a simple syrup they use to sweeten the drinks. That's cool, I'm easy. Another Yelper had mentioned the bursting boba with honey so I asked to try that. So glad I did - they're tasty, fun, and weird-in-a-good-way! (Like popping bubble wrap with your tongue :O !!) The tea assortment is pretty big; I chose the black breakfast blend. The server brewed, then iced it for me, adding the honey boba, syrup, and non-dairy creamer. It took over the old t-mobile spot below the food court. It's pretty similar, with many flavors to choose from. They have some popping boba as well (I like honey!) and there is a 10% check in offer. Really happy with this place. When I walked up I was greeted nicely and was walked through the many options of drinks they have. The server was very accommodating and gave me her opinions when asked. Finally, a place in Downers Grove with decent tapioca and a pretty good selection of drinks. It was my first time here at this location, and the workers were super helpful and nice. My baseline for trying new places is just a simple green tea with boba. Depending on how it is, I'd be coming back or not. Surprisingly, they make the teas with actual leaves and hot water (longer wait for cold normal teas). Tasted perfect. Would come back and recommend others to try! Honestly, I'm really happy that Yorktown opened a bubble tea place. This place is not bad, there's just better bubble tea places out there but considering there's none in the area, this will have to do for now. My dad ordered me a watermelon bubble tea and I hated it. It tasted artificial and like candy. Like everyone else had mentioned, they use powder so that should explain the candy taste. The 2nd time I went there, I got the strawberry shortcake, which tastes like ice cream but in a good way. The tapioca was good, not hard or chewy. One thing I have to point out was that the service was slow. I'm not sure if it's because there was only one girl working or if it's because it just opened but another person has to be there because it took forever for the bubble tea to be made. Don't expect any authentic bubble teas here but it's a decent spot to get bubble tea if you're craving it and if you don't want to venture out to the city or Chinatown for bubble tea. read more

I love this place. The drinks are so good. My only complaint is that there is a very long wait. I am a repeat costumer and there is always a line when I come. It is normally only two or three groups of people in front of me but it will usually take me about 30 minutes to get my drink. The problem is that there's only one person taking orders and making the drinks. Sometimes there's two. They need to staff at least 2 people in order for the business to run smoothly. Taking one star off because the tapioca was horrendous. It was really hard and undercooked.
