You remember that feeling when you walked into a candy shop when you were a kid and you just wanted to buy the entire store? Yeah, I got to relive that the minute I walked in. The decor is great and inviting, the staff is awesome, and there were a large selection of gelato's just waiting to be eaten. I tried the strawberry, and DAMN, felt like I literally became the strawberry. Tried the passionfruit, and DAMN, just wanted to take that thing to TOWN. And so I took passionfruit to town, and boy, it was almost the perfect date. The gelato flavor itself is spot on. Literally, the strawberry tasted like a fresh ripe strawberry and the passionfruit tasted like a passionfruit. The only gripe I have about the gelato here is that it's really sweet. I'm not a huge fan of sweets, and just wished that the sweetness could was tone down a bit. But that's just me. If you have a sweet tooth, then get in there cause you definitely won't be disappointed! Portion sizes. Wow, who knew a medium would turn out to be be a LARGE. Like boy, I wish I brought someone along with me to finish this "medium". They fill the cup up, and then they add even MORE on top. It's like five guys fries when they dump extra fries into the bag... But with GELATO! Overall, this place is awesome. Would I come back again? You bet. But next time I'll probably get the small and bring a friend along with me to finish it! But this is just my opinion, and Chillato has left a rather great taste in my mouth! I came to Chillato the other night with my BIL. I no longer live in Whitestone, but when I heard of this spot opening up, I couldn't wait to try it. There are probably 20 flavors to pick from, and all of them were appealing. I also heard that the flavors switch up every now and then, which is exciting. We sampled a few flavors, and I ended up going with a small cup, half Smores and half Vanilla Fudge Brownie. My brother in law got Peanut Butter and Jelly and Smores. We both really enjoyed this gelato. The Smores was incredible...perfect gelato consistency and great flavor...really tasted like a Smores...graham crackers, subtle toasted marshmallow, and chocolate chips! I also loved the thick fudge brownie pieces in the Vanilla Fudge Brownie. Typical gelato prices, at least in my opinion...$4.50 for a small, but a decent size because they fill the cups up. Next time, I may have to try the brioche gelato sandwich!! read more

The range of flavors provides something for everyone, from classic gelatos, modern takes, and sorbets, everyone will find something to enjoy. The bathroom is clean, decorations are unique, and the staff are very kind and good on the samples. The pricing here is average and the price for multiple scoops is reasonably low. Chillato is the most amazing gelato shop in whitestone! The owners are so sweet and customer service is top notch. There are many flavors to choose from as well as cakes and brioche gelato desserts too. I just had my daughter's 8th birthday party there - we did the Dip and Drizzle package. The kids loved making the big sundae and decorating the gelato pops. Tony, Linda & Maria were a pleasure to work with in planning the party. The shop is very minimalist, a few tables and chairs, but offers a variety of favors (about 12) of fresh homemade gelato and sorbet (about 6). Prices are very reasonable, cup: small ($4.50), medium ($5.50), large ($6.50) with very generous servings and ability to have multiple flavors. the staff is very friendly and accommodating. Maria, the owner is very friendly, sweet and welcoming. Made a suggestion about possibly offering lattes/espresso etc., she mentioned plans for more offerings at a later time. The best gelato I've had in a long time and a great addition to Whitestone! I wish it wasn't so busy so I could have tried all the flavors, I felt bad being gluttonous and holding up the line. I tried pistachio and looked no further, it was creamy just sweet enough and actually tasted like pistachio. My sister and nephew had cookies and cream and loved it, it was creamy, full of flavor instead of just being full of sugar. This place is Great! The Mrs went to an elite event here and she told me the ice cream was great and that I had to try it. First let me say the location choice is GENIUS. It's located right across the street from a school and near to a church plus it's in a great neighborhood. So whoever chose the location is a Certified Genius. When you enter the store you can see the great decor and table to sit and eat. They even have a couple window seats if you want to sit and look out. The ice cream is creamy and flavorful. The selections are great ranging from raspberry cheesecake to lemon cookie and from peanut butter & Jelly to Basil. Yes, that's right I said Basil! It's definitely my favorite. It has a refreshing taste and it's refreshing to the pallet. The owner and the staff are very nice and accommodating and another great thing is they let you get as much samples as you want. Which is always a plus to the indecisive individual. The combination of all these factors make this place a must visit when craving some delicious ice cream. And since I was told about this place it's only right to pay it forward! I will definitely be visiting again. read more

Chillato has become my family's favorite gelato/sorbet spot. We live in Flushing so their location is not exactly in our neighborhood but it is definitely worth the short ride. My son has egg/dairy and nut allergies and, after talking to the owner, he pretty much could have any flavor sorbet. At the recommendation of the staff, I had the coconut gelato and it was awesome. The staff was very friendly and informative. I don't think it tasted like gelato rather it was expensive ice cream. The price for my large was not the problem but the amount of "gelato" they put in it seemed like a kid's medium. I don't think I will be coming back but good addition to the neighborhood. Let me tell you just how nice the people who work here are, a little over two weeks ago I stopped in with my teen for a delicious dessert and by accident I left a blank white envelope with a large amount of cash I just withdrew from the bank behind. Thinking I lost it, to my surprise I received an email stating that after some very clever and diligent work reviewing store video they found me. The next day the owner stopped by my business to information me about this wonderful news and that the envelope was at the shop. Although the flavor changes every day, here are some of my favorite flavors for you to try if you are interested: Mango Sorbet, Passion Fruit Sorbet, Lemon Sorbet, Sugar Rush(for the kids especially), Matcha(it has a citrus undertone), Raspberry Cheesecake, Vanilla, and SO MUCH MORE. They sell custom ice cream cakes, and the one on display was so elegant, it looked too good to eat. They also sell gelato pops, coffee, quality tea, and drinks.
