Some technical friends tried to help me Saturday afternoon (it had stopped raining early) by replacing the capacitor. I shared that information with him. He said something strange about 'probably' calling Monday. For context: it was in the middle of a brutal heat wave, and I have 2 kids and a dog. I left a msg and texted on Monday and was . . . GHOSTED. No response at all. It would have been (somewhat) professional to just tell me they couldn't help at that point, but to ghost a potential customer was unbelievably unprofessional. None returned my calls, and one completely stood me up. I expanded my search to Yelp and reached out to Nemat at 3 Point Mechanical. He said that he could swing by same day and take a look at what the problem is. It turns out there were a few problems with the unit: the core issue was an electrical problem, but the AC unit was also sinking into the ground and had not been serviced in many, many years. After about an hour, I was thrilled when our unit was back up and running. Nemat will be returning in about a week to ensure that everything is running smoothly. In addition to being knowledgeable, Nemat is a really personable guy and was thoughtful enough to wear a mask the entire time. All in all, I'd definitely recommend his services to anyone having similar issues to my own.

He did a complete walk through of the interior of my house to assess for any roof leakage and then went right to work on the exterior roof structure. He took several pictures and explained to me that my roof was leaking in several places. Here it is: It's beginning to make sense. Did you even run any water air or temperature tests before you installed the new heat pump? I chose Otis because he explained the work patiently and honestly. I was undecided about where to place the unit and he discussed what would be needed for each placement. I generally rely on Yelp reviews to help guide my decisions. In this case, I consulted with a couple of companies, many ignored the quote requests, instead arriving intent on selling THEIR units or trying to convince me to place the unit where it was most convenient to THEM. Mostly they just felt swarmy. I decided halfway through the consult that I was hiring Otis, because this is an expensive job and requires expertise, but just as importantly, someone with integrity. Later when I went to check his Yelp ratings, I didn't find his company, but I am happy to write the first review for this small, family business. If your unit is like mine and you need a 220 V line, you will need an electrician to run a separate line. I'm waiting for the electrician to complete his end of the work before I can enjoy my new unit. I'm confident it will run fine!
