It has a nice little location and everything. I even enjoyed the authentic tasting margaritas and such. But that's pretty much where the authenticity ends. I mean the food is tasty- I might even give it 4 stars for taste. But it's not really Mexican. And it's sooo very expensive for what it is. When did food in Bed-Stuy start costing so much??? Gentrification is real, my friends...

3 Tacos and a Tecale deal

The tacos were amazing and prices were great- will have to stop by every time I visit NYC. Their three tacos and a beer deal for $12 was perfect for dinner. The tacos are stuff full of delicious meat and the red sauce Chino had available to add was spectacular. The added lime was *chef's kiss* Stopped by Chino originally because all of the 5-star reviews- it is worth the hype! Have already recommended to all my friends in the area. Outdoor back patio creates a great ambiance- very deserving of this 5-star rating. Will be checking out the frozen margs next time I go! Locals and Travelers- Check out this place!

Mezcal Paloma ($1 goes to world central kitchen!)

This place is great. Awesome spot for groups. They even allow dogs in the outside area. Super drinks- had the paloma made with mezcal, of which $1 goes to world central kitchen, a taste of the michelada, and a special drink made by the bartender that he called "crime of passion" with passion fruit and tequila. You can check out games by giving them your ID. We played oversized connect four, tournament style. You can also order food from the taco truck there. The nopal (cactus) taco and taco al pastor (pork and pineapple) were delicious.

    Avocado Torta

My roommate found this incredible restaurant near our place. It was so yummy! I ordered an Avocado Torta. It was packed with delicious flavors and was filled with vibrant colors. It was absolutely filling and paired well with their green sauce. The service was incredible and quick. They had a small, yet mighty menu. I can't wait to try other menu items. They also put out hand sanitizer at every table. There is outdoor seating for when the weather is beautiful!

The avocado tostada was quite good - very fresh and tasty avocados and I love the pairing with the black beans. I wish there was some acid on it -lime juice? - and maybe some salt. The cactus one was kind of weird but maybe that's just me not loving cactus. Would love more vegetarian options! My boyfriend liked all his meaty ones!

Lots and lots of outdoor seating at Chilo's. Came by for a couple drinks and tacos and had a lovely time. It's a casual Mexican restaurant and bar that can be a little on the expensive side--but let's be real, restaurants have been put in a shitty situation so just have your drinks and smile. They have a back patio with lots of seating, as well as picnic tables and high tops on the sidewalk. You'll order inside (mask required), they'll hand you a number, and they'll deliver to your table. At one point, one of the employees misunderstood my order but they immediately corrected it, and politely. Despite clearly being understaffed, everything came out super quickly and the employees were kind. Remember that bars have to shut down at 10pm so grab a bottle of wine from around the corner and go home and watch the latest Netflix binge.

SO GOOD!! Had the duck, shrimp and huitlacoche tacos... PHENOMENAL. Also loved the chips and guacamole, but the salsa they sent out with that was unique and delicious. Margarita was good. Definitely a slam dunk in terms of food!!

    Frozen margarita

Came here on the weekend mid day to try some authentic tacos. Restaurant has a nice setup; bar in the front with food truck out back. The food truck area was heated which was a nice additional touch especially during colder months. Chilos shrimp tacos didn't fall short of flavor or seasoning. The only thing was that they ran out of fish tacos which was disappointing as they had just opened. The frozen margaritas were also a hit ! Great consistency, amount alcohol and pairing flavors. Will definitely be back.

Just a couple of their specials many of which proceeds are donated to ACLU!

We got the duck and carnitas tacos and they were out of this world. Best tacos in NYC hands down.

Our reservation was for 8:30pm, but we arrived early and Alejandra, the hostess, was incredibly welcoming and accommodating. Even though she was ready to seat us, we decided to hang at the bar until the rest of our party arrived and that was the perfect move. Alkarys behind the bar was top-tier. She recommended the Siempre Reposado, and let me tell you... smooth, clean, dangerously good. If you're into tequila, that's a must. Now let's talk about the food. We ordered the quesadilla, rajas, tamales, tacos, and the queso fundido and every single dish hit. The queso fundido came out bubbling, rich, perfectly melted with that pull you want when you scoop it up. The tamales were moist and packed with flavor, wrapped beautifully and clearly made with care. The rajas had that perfect balance of roasted pepper sweetness and savory depth. The tacos? Authentic, well-seasoned, and layered with flavor, no shortcuts. Even the quesadilla stood out, crispy on the outside with that perfectly melted interior. Everything felt traditional, elevated but still true to its roots. You can taste the authenticity. Service was attentive without being overbearing, the ambiance was super casual and laid back, the kind of Brooklyn spot you pull up to for a real dinner experience, not just a quick bite. Highly recommend this place if you're out and about in Brooklyn. Definitely coming back for the tequila, the queso fundido, and round two of those tacos. I'm gonna try eating at the bar to check out the spot in the front of the house.
