Disappointing experience with Maya Taqueria and Uber Eats. We have supported Maya Taqueria since the day it opened and usually order in person. Yesterday, we used a buy-one-get-one Uber Eats coupon and ordered two orders of nachos with chicken al pastor. When we got home, there was no chicken -- just onions and peppers. Uber Eats told us to contact the restaurant. The manager called back quickly, but instead of helping, she argued with us and insisted the order came through without chicken. She then sent a copy from the restaurant's system, not an Uber Eats confirmation. Mistakes happen. What is frustrating is the response. No apology, no solution, just arguing with a customer. We have been loyal customers for years, but this was lousy customer service. read more

I have nothing but good things to say about this place! The breakfast burrito is massive and slept on! I added the al pastor mushrooms and peppers & onions on recommendation from my buddy and I'm so glad I did. They perfectly complemented the beans, fries, eggs, and guac. And they serve the burritos with sturdy tortilla chips! This is definitely a place to come to if you're in the area and hungry. We stopped on a whim during open streets in Prospect Park area. We ordered a couple burritos. Thirty minutes passed and no food. I went in the store and they lost our order. They make the burritos quick then my partner finds a long straight black hair in his mouth to the burrito. He loses his appetite and they only offer to make another or a drink instead. I ordered the shiitake mushroom al pastor California vegetarian burrito but I think they just put pork birria in it. Probably not going back. read more

I was greeted as I walked in and they had me as their attention while I was ordering. I ordered the prawn burrito and tararind drink. I asked was it homemade and they notified me it is made everyday fresh. While ordered my burrito there were choices the cashier asked such as, what type of beans and rice. My order took a bit longer than expected which seem to be because they needed shrimp up front. Once I received my order and then took a second to eat it at another location, I realized they put 5 chips in my bag. There wasn't any salsa...or anything just 5 chips. Wish I would have taken a picture so you could have seen. I was quite confused what I was suppose to do with those chips. Then on to the drink. It was ok. Definitely not the exactly what I am use to but it wasn't terrible either. I wish I would have given the hibiscus drink. The burrito was a let down for me. Let me start by saying it's a decent size. The issue was the inside. Some of the shrimp were over cooked and burnt. So I am eating pieces that are hard and have the burnt taste. It was very unappealing each time I would get to a shrimp. I was really looking forward to the shrimp.... They do offer soups, bowl, enchiladas, burritos and sides. They did state on the menu they have mole but I was afraid to try it due to ready some of the reviews. The prices are high but lots of things are right now. I usually try to visit for lunch because I love their special. $14 for a burrito, chips and a drink. Their chips are phenomenal. The burrito will fill you up good and their salsas are super flavorful and can definitely get spicy. They also have really tasty loaded nachos and other dinner platters. My only complaint is they really skimp you on the meat here. The portion sizes can be pretty small for everything except the burritos. A delicious taqueria. It was great to try a new taco place in this area. I went to dine in and never ordered take out. Seemed that they had a lot of take out orders because the delivery men with in and out. The service here is outstanding and employees are friendly. It's also incredibly clean - tables, floors, salsa station and bathroom. The only comment I have is it can become very cold. The door is constantly opening. Just make sure during the winter months you have a sweater. The shrimp quesadilla had a wonderful amount of flavor and spice. Shrimp took an extra 15-20 minutes because it's made fresh to order. I really liked the chicken taco because it was packed with flavor and just the right amount of cilantro. I love a taco with a lot of cilantro - packed with flavor. Had a lot of kick and the 5 year old I went to said, "spicy!" But she added some sour cream on it and she was happy. Horchata is very delicious but extremely sweet. The prices at this fast casual spot are borderline criminal. We all know how much rice, beans and tortillas cost. How is $18 for a medium (would "almost" say large) sized burrito garnished with three to four tortilla chips (plus another $5 for a Coke) even legal. Yet another covid-era delivery review... Weird we haven't reviewed our neighborhood Mexican spot. We've ordered from here a few times. Go here for the burritos. They do them well. I especially like their burritos with chicken (of all varieties). I'm also quite fond of their quesadillas, but those aren't as clear a winner as the burritos. I got the wet burrito with kale and onions and a side of homemade salsa delivered two nights ago. I wasn't too impressed with the burrito - the presentation is not the best, I would've liked more sauce on top maybe even sour cream and pico de gallo, and the inside was mainly beans and rice/ingredients weren't distributed evenly. The place is a quick casual dining place where you order indoors and they make your food for you and bring it outside. Also seemed like a busy delivery place. Food is amazing. This is the best Mexican food I have ever had. We ate there in person, the restaurant itself is small but not too small (still cute). We ate outside and it felt a bit crowded but it was still comfortable. Service is excellent and they've never gotten our order wrong. We order a lot and it always comes within 35 minutes (and it's never cold)! It is definitely on the pricier side, but I highly recommend it. This place is horrible. First, it's expensive and truly not worth the price for this mediocre food and even worse service. We order our food and the girl at the cashier with the blond hair gives me an attitude because I asked something about the menu. We sit in the back which is quite nice but wait more than 20 min for the food to come out. In the mean time we got two cups of the free water which was very hot and no place to actually get ice. Also the utensils don't seem to get restocked regularly because there was only one knife. The food finally comes out and my order was wrong and the guacamole was missing. There was no lime or any type of sauce provided. I told the girl with the blondish streaked hair again and again she responded with an attitude. Besides this the food had no taste. It seems like they're catering to the white folks in the area cause this is not flavorful Mexican food. Also the refried beans are not actually refried.
