We hadn't been to Chiloso in probably a year, so when we were driving through Southlake and needed to stop for dinner, we decided to give it another try. To our delight, it wasn't overly crowded, and we were warmly greeted by the staff. The food definitely lived up to our expectations. As always, the portions were generous, everything tasted fresh, and the value for the money was spot-on. It's a small thing, but we also really appreciate being able to serve our own drinks and get our own refills. It's a nice convenience and means you never have to wait for a refill. While Chiloso isn't particularly close to where we live, we're in the Southlake area fairly often, so we'll definitely be stopping back in. This place right here!! Omg!! I was recommended to try this place from a random Dallas local I ran across when inquiring about good places to try. It definitely reminds you of a chipotle, but wayyyy better. They provide you with plenty of food that can easily be shared or saved for later. I wish Tennessee had a place like this, because I'm sure I'd be a regular. You're able to create your own meal by going through the line and adding whatever you desire. Love this place! It tastes so much more authentic than the other options and the staff was great! The line was at the door when we arrived on a Sunday evening. My only complaint is that they ran out of their standard aluminum containers while we were in line and started making bowls in the smaller, circular, plastic containers. I do feel like the size was significantly smaller than the standard size. Other than that, everything tasted great. I did a veggie bowl and it was packed with so many Ingredients and so flavorful. I've been to Chiloso may times and it is one of the better fast casual Mexican food restaurants in Southlake. Like everything else the prices keep increasing. The service is incredibly fast. Most items already prepared and assemble your food right there. Some are grilled like the quesadillas, fish tacos etc. I had the blackened shrimp tacos for this meal. They were real good. The green chiles with habanero slaw added a heat element with crunch and acid that went together nicely. The shrimp was blackened nicely. You always get an order of homemade tortilla chips and salsa with every order. I did not order the queso this time, but I usually do. It is some of the best queso around. Visited for the first time recently and was pleasantly surprised by the friendly staff and great food. The front was set up similar to Chipotle, you can build your own bowl. They also have a menu for ordering from the kitchen. Since it was our first time, the staff was patient to walk us thru the process. The restaurant has lots of seating and tvs, made it super easy to relax while you eat. The bowl I ordered was delicious, half & half normal and spicy chicken. They load up on the corn and toppings. Overall it was very filling and delicious. They also serve margaritas! Perhaps the best surprise, we ordered a strawberry and blackberry margs; paired so well with our meals. I am loving this place! This is my second location to visit THIS WEEK! The food here is fresh and delicious! I ordered the build your own Nachos. I got Chicken, Queso, Beans, Pico, and Salsa. The service was great and really friendly. I told them I needed something to eat but did not have a huge appetite and they let me order a kids sized meal which was perfect! I like how of the two locations I have visited that both are unique to their respective areas. It changes the ambiance from location to location which I like. SO. GOOD. Everything we ate was well worth what we paid for it. My stacked ancho chicken bowel was delicious. It was incredibly filling and I was pleasantly surprised at how generous they were with the avocado serving. The bowl was topped with at least half of an avocado! The chicken was seasoned well and SO moist. There was a bit of heat on the backend, but it was pleasant and not overpowering. We also ordered chips, queso, and some of the jalapeño ranch. Everything tasted amazing. My husband ordered an OG style quesadilla, which I had a bite of. It was delicious - the tortilla was especially good. We went during brunch hours and were able to find seating and moved through the line fairly quickly. This is more of a fast casual environment. All the staff were friendly and helpful. We came here within the last hour of the day, but the minute we walked in we were greeted by the nice employees. They had some games playing, a huge layout, and offering drinks as well I could definitely see this as a great place for a fun date night or girls night! The menu is huge so I was intimidated, but I went with the Grilled Avocados bowl, white rice, black beans and topped with spicy chicken. OMG it was soo good, but the portions are so huge I couldn't even finish! It did reheat so well the next day though so that's even more of a plus to me! My friend got a frozen margarita and it was good as well, they felt it was strong but I didn't. A lot of people say this place is like Chipotle but better, and I agree and would even say the two can't be compared. The menu at Chiloso is so huge there's no way you're walking out hungry or unsatisfied! It was a bit pricey, but for the portions I think it's well priced. I have become so disappointed with their service in the past months. Chiloso used to be so amazing because the quality of food was phenomenal and they would give you so much food to the point where I would get a bowl and it was almost overflowing over the sides. They were the best alternative to Chipotle, albeit still expensive it was worth it. In the past few months, new hires have come in and have consistently been frugal on servings. Tonight 10/4/25 I went in and got a bowl and the crew member gave me one tiny scoop of refried beans. Are you kidding me?! She even put on gloves, found the bag in the dumpster but to no avail. My phone was not there. We tried "Find My Phone" but no luck. The phone was found later. (It's a long story.) Met friends here for lunch today. This counter-service restaurant is clean and open. The line moved quickly enough and food was tasty. I had a fajita-steak taco, which I really enjoyed. There was more food that the very small tortilla could hold - good thing I grabbed a fork! It was very busy and the venue is pretty noisy, making it difficult to carry a conversation. Lunchtime with a friend on a recent Friday. We agreed on TexMex and there was a place he'd heard of so we agreed to try the place. We walked in and it was a popular place for lunch that day (Friday, August 5th). We walked through to the guided path - which reminded me of the entry point of several other places such as Fuzzy's Taco place, Chipotle, and Jason's Deli where the customer is guided through a closed path/maze of choices. As some have pointed out the setup is similar to Chipotle and other places where you choose the toppings and fixings of your order. My lunch partner chose the shrimp tacos and I picked the blacked fish tacos. We were given a little tray and two drink cups along with a number for table delivery of our food. Unsweet tea for both, but the dispenser was way low. I reported it to a staff member. We made our way to a table and snacked on the tortilla chips and choice of salsa that we'd been offered as we left the checkout area. Soon after our food arrived, there were three (very overfilled) tacos each along with a side of rice and a small cup of black beans. We each proceeded to mix the beans and rice, and sized up how to tackle these tacos. The tacos were good: juicy and tasty with plenty of filling. Really probably two fish tacos would have been plenty for me due to the rice and beans ... really hold the rice & beans and order the three -- that's the way to go. Pricing - this wasn't cheap. $4.95 per fish taco, then 'x' for the regular sized glass of unsweet tea which ends up about 20 something dollars a person. On the other hand, there was so much food that looking back at Friday dinner time it was a big slice of watermelon and a small snack ... I was still pretty filled up by the watermelon. read more

Chiloso is my top fast casual Mexican place now - my favorite thing to get is the Grilled Avocados with barbacoa, but lately I've been craving nachos more often, and their nachos are the closest thing I can get to what So-Cal (former restaurant in Grapevine that only has food truck now but never see them much these days) does - So-Cal had the best chips of anywhere I'd ever had and Chiloso's aren't quite that good but not bad. But I like being able to get rice, refried beans, meat and shredded cheese and queso (and all of good quality) on my nachos. The only thing I don't love is they don't do anything to melt the cheese on the nachos, like you'd get at Costa Vida. I want the shredded cheese to be mostly melted, so I usually ask them do a small layer of chips and some shredded cheese, then add the rest of the chips and toppings, that way it warms that up and you don't end up with a bunch of chips with nothing on them. Plus, if you just do it the way they normally do, they sometimes put rice, beans and meat on before shredded cheese, which doesn't make sense to me. It's a lot of food! My husband and I said we need to just split nachos going forward because neither of us usually can eat more than half. I usually get steak for nachos, but their barbacoa is very good too, I'm just not always in the mood for it on nachos. Their guacamole is good, but too pricey. If you get a side of it, it's like $4.50 and just a tiny bit bigger than a side at Chipotle would be. So I won't do that again, unless I were splitting it with someone or getting a much smaller meal. One of the most solid and consistent spots on my restaurant list. I've been eating here since my college days and I've only ever been satisfied since the first day I had it. I always get the Chicken Burrito Bowl with queso on top and a ton of Jalapeño Ranch on the side. They always honor my request for extra chips too. I know they have a lot of other things on their menu and I'm looking forward to trying them in the future.
