Easy first step bring car in and one of the agents looks at damage and then creates a quote, after a quote is approved then work starts. Dropped off car and 2 days later was able to pick up vehicle quoted 3 days so it was fast turn around. Body work was decent and it was nice that they washed and detailed vehicle inside and out. I brought my car to Chilton Auto Body after an accident, expecting professional repairs and proper care. Unfortunately, my experience was incredibly frustrating and stressful. After picking up my vehicle, I immediately noticed warning lights and electrical messages that had never appeared before the accident or the repair. Shortly after, my car completely failed with a major electrical system issue. When I raised concerns, I felt dismissed rather than supported, and there was little effort to investigate whether the problems could be related to the repairs. What was most concerning is that the shop is not Mercedes-Benz certified, yet my vehicle clearly required specialized diagnostics and handling for electrical systems. I later learned that critical electrical issues should have been evaluated by a qualified mechanical or dealership facility before the car was released. I was left to do all the follow-up work myself--seeking second opinions, arranging diagnostics, and dealing with the stress of a car that was no longer drivable. My experience with Chilton Auto Body was disappointing due to inconsistent communication, poor planning, and multiple avoidable delays. I was given a firm date for when my vehicle would be ready. A few days prior, I was told it might not be done -- but no one followed up before the weekend. Since I didn't hear otherwise, I assumed it was still on track. Instead, I found out the morning of that it wasn't ready, with no warning or explanation ahead of time. This happened more than once, and in total, it took over five weeks to get my vehicle back. A big part of the delay came down to poor parts management. Some parts were missing, others were wrong, and at one point, seatbelts were ordered in the wrong color -- which wasn't even caught until the day they were supposed to be installed, setting things back another five days. It was clear there wasn't enough attention to detail throughout the process. Even on the day I finally picked it up, during the final inspection they discovered paint chips that still needed to be fixed. At that point, I couldn't afford to wait any longer -- I was losing money being without my truck -- so I asked them to just do a quick touch-up instead of the proper repair, just so I could get back on the road. While the repair work seems okay overall, the lack of follow-through, planning, and clear communication made this a very frustrating experience. I hope they take these issues seriously, but based on my visit, I would not recommend them. read more

I was in an accident and referred to this shop. Insurance claimed my car was. totaled. I went to the shop to pick up my personal belongs out of the car and noticed some items missing. I notified the employee and she acted to not know anything. I will not do any future business with this company. read more

My tesla was vandalized and unfortunately my camera wasn't enabled and so the culprit couldnt be caught. So when I took my car to 4 auto body shops to get a quote, not surprisingly, I got 4 different quotes. What surprised me was the range. The cheapest was one in fremont $1100 if I paid out of pocket however, the place looked suspicious and it wasnt a tesla approved autobody so not worth mentioning the name of the place. However, I'll name the two other places that had the highest estimates. Both were B&S - one in san ramon and other in pleasanton. Both were rip offs. Both quoted me close to/more than $4,000. I had 3 small pot marks on front passenger side door and they said that not only did they need to paint the rear door but the panel (over the tire) which was like 2 feet away. Yes, I understand they had to "feather" or blend the paint and needed the room for it but the panel over the tire seemed completely unnecessary. But don't take my word for it, the other two body shops concurred. Both b&s also said that they couldn't guarantee the door would work and I might have to take my car into tesla afterwards at an additional cost between $150 - $250. Huh? Sounded like this came from either lack of experience or experience from not having their work done right. So obviously I didn't go with either of these jokers. Be careful all, guys like these lead me to believe they can charge you anything. They prolly think because you can afford a tesla, you can afford to be ripped off rather than we can afford a tesla because we know how to save & make more money. Now, let's move on to Chilton Carstar Wyoming location. Yes, they are tesla approved auto body. And yes, their estimate was less than HALF of b&s. And yes they did an awesome job. Starting from how easy it was to just drop off my car to getting texts on status everytime there was an update to them waxing the exterior, and cleaning the interior of my car at no extra charge, I couldn't be more pleased. They even did a small touch to a scratch I had. Of, and did I mention they charged my car too? All for a little over $1700 and done in 5 biz days. My original estimate was around $1800 but after I asked about the costs after the car was done, they REDUCED it to low $1700. Who does that? Btw, Sean was very professional and nice. I couldn't recommend higher. read more

They inspected the car and took pictures and we scheduled a repair date,the they say they can't repair because if prior damage. The 1st shop I call after them accepts the job and gets it done. A giant piece of metal lodged itself into the front of our business vehicle while on the freeway. Teslas appointment calendar was 3 weeks out. I called Chilton based on referral from a friend and they were AMAZING! Not only did they fix it but returned the car back ahead of schedule. The gals in the office are all so lovely and the team were all very professional and accommodating and polite! Don't hesitate when considering a body shop! This one is a winner! read more
