My husband was out of town so I was solo dining tonight and sat at the Sushi Bar area. Service was not only great, the sushi chefs were so nice and I had a fun conversation about eating Horseshoe crabs which was one of the videos that was on the TV on the wall. I liked that it was busy but not too crowded. They do a great take out service and the menu is perfect for everything from the freshest sushi to the most creative Thai dishes. I ordered a BoGo Kirin Light (on Happy Hour) which was served very cold and refreshing. The Kanisu Roll was so fresh and a very pretty as well as healthy. The Chim Salad was the best. There is no lettuce but plenty of salmon and tuna with cucumber, avocado and little jalapeños rings. The seaweed Salad on top was plentiful and the dish itself was excellent. I asked for a little spicy mayo on the side to layer into the Nori paper to make little sushi tacos. I loved this dish and would definitely order it again. The casual conversation from the other person sitting by me and the guys behind the bar made for the perfect evening. This was my first visit here but I will dine here again to try some other menu items. Prices are very reasonable and so was the portion sizes. My daughter loves this place. So much so that she bought me a gift certificate for Mother's Day. So, hubby and I tried it. We had the calamari appetizer. (Although it had a nice tempura coating, it was tough and tasteless.) We also had the tuna crispy rice sushi appetizer. It was good, though the block of rice could have been smaller because it overpowered the tuna. For our main entrees hubby had the sashimi combo. It came out in a dish too large for the number of pieces the order contained. But it was a nice presentation. Hubby said that overall the pieces of fish had no flavor and did not have that melt-in-your-mouth smoothness. I had my favorite Thai dish, pad see ew, thick rice noodles with pork and Asian broccoli. The noodles were cut in small bite-size pieces and were thick and meaty. The pork was ok but could have been a bit more tender. However, I enjoyed the medium level spiciness. Service was excellent. I ordered take out from here on a Saturday night. The service was very prompt and friendly. The food took no time at all to be ready. Overall, my beef pad Thai noodle was good. I finally made my way to this great neighborhood Thai and Sushi restaurant. We met friends for dinner here who have been telling us it's one of their new faves. The staff was super friendly and full of smiles. When I took my video they even arranged the food for the best angle, smiled and waved, lol. I tried a little of everything and it was all fresh and delicious. The prices were reasonable too. I did take off one star because my Pad Thai came out after everyone else had basically eaten. That being said, it was plentiful (enough to share) and super delicious. Our waitress Katie was very sweet and apologetic advising they were backed up in the kitchen. My experience varies GREATLY by who is working the shift. After today's experience, we are going to walk in, see who is working and then decide if we want to stay. Its either that or we just don't return. THAT is how polarizing our experiences have been. Some servers are wonderful and make you feel at home. The experienced, uniformed sushi maker creates beautiful, mostly-even cut sliced sushi rolls, and cuts the fish with care and skill. We have twice been "served" by someone who should work in the back of the house, away from customers. There is no love or care in the service. Today dishes piled on our table while we watched her chat with her coworker. She argued with me about bringing more wasabi. When I asked for ginger that wasn't woody, dry, and tiny (are these seconds?) she told me that what there is. What the hell? We also order a cooked salmon cali roll with torched salmon on top. We kept our last receipt to show them how to order /ring it up, so we get the same thing. They came to look at the receipt 3 times to make sure they rang it up at the same price. Hey, the price is the price. Why would there be confusion? So, why would we even think to return? Because we had ordered the same rolls to go when we placed the dine in order and when we got home, I saw that these rolls were better-made, and the fish wasn't dry like the rolls we ate in the restaurant. The experienced sushi maker was now behind the bar. The other servers who've waited on us were really nice and caring. Sadly they weren't there this time. So, like I said, we'll walk in and see who's working and decide if we want to stay or go. We'll see what the future holds. read more

My family ordered the crispy rice tuna appetizer and it was the most flavorful and I appreciated that the rice was actually crispy. The four friends sushi roll tasted very fresh with the perfect amount of flavor. The Yaki Udon was finger licking delicious with a sweet sauce. The crispy pork Kao Na Kra Pow was flavorful. After driving by this restaurant several times, I finally went in today for lunch. The restaurant itself is large and you have the option to sit outside. Clean, open concept but the music was a bit loud for me. The lunch menu has lots of options and you have the choice to get a soup or salad. I had the salad and the peanut dressing was very good. I order spring roll and it was delicious and reasonably priced. I'm vegetarian so I got the stir fried vegetables with tofu. I absolutely love that the rice was soft and silky. I have eating Thai food with grainy rice. The green unsweetened tea goes with the spicy Thai hot meal. I wanted dessert but the waitress brought the bills before I had a chance to ask for the menu. The broth was perfect and they added seaweed which added a nice texture to the meal. It was delicious. 100/10 I had the avocado bomb. It wasn't my favorite. I think it needs to add some crunchy or a different texture. The sushi tasted too mushy for me. I would not get it again. 4/10 I had the lunch special. It came with the following: Chicken pad Thai - The pad Thai was delicious. I really like that they did not drench the pad Thai with sauce. It was well seasoned and tasted fresh. It's one of my favorite pad Thai I ever tasted and I am very picky with the pad Thai. 10/10 California roll- it was fresh. Nothing special. 8/10 Sushi - I was nervous at first, but i really liked all three sushi. The fish was fresh and high quality to me at least. New Thai place that opened.. although it was very busy the staff came and check in on us several times. If you're in a rush don't come here to eat for a quick bite because this place does get busy! So definitely call to see if they have a wait time. Love the ambiance of this place and love the decor. We ordered the pad Thai & volcano roll & gyoza. I liked the gyoza as an appetizer. The pad Thai was pretty saucy and was flavorful. Definitely would come back to try their duck basil.. I did not like the volcano roll, the top was super burnt and not tasting good at all. I was not expecting this for a volcano roll and I've had a lot in my lifetime. I have had two experiences with the food at Chim, one in person and one through online order. My first time was in person for a date with my girlfriend. I ordered the Pad Se-ewe and the fat noodles were delicious along with the sushi roll we ordered. The atmosphere and lighting are great for a date. We also ordered online recently and while my girlfriend was still very happy with her food, I wasn't so happy with my combination fried rice as it tasted very plain and was expensive for what it was. My husband and I went here on a Friday for date night. This place was incredibly busy. We were sat at the last open table when we walked in. We were bounced between two different servers during our visit which was a little odd. There was a woman who helped us that was great, but the male who took our order not so much. She was much more reachable when we would see her. We ordered the Red Dragon Roll with soy paper, and the Sunset Roll but subbed spicy tuna for the spicy conch. We loved the Sunset Roll so much with our customization that we ordered another one. The food was very fresh and incredible. I had a Jasmine Tea for a drink. Typically at Japanese restaurants you get a little kettle, but here it was only a cup. The taste and fragrance of the tea was delicious though. The restaurant is new overall so they could still be figuring it out. We will definitely come back but probably at an earlier time or maybe not the weekend to see the difference in service. The biggest con for us was the chair backs. They consist of one rounded piece of wood which isn't easy on the back. read more
