We were told there was only one sushi chef working, which explained the delay, but it still affected the overall experience. The food itself was good the sushi rolls were flavorful and the sauces paired really well. My drink was also on point. The deviled eggs, though, were underwhelming not seasoned and just didn't hit for me. This was my first experience at Ra Sushi. I went with my sister to place an order for pick up and get a drink while we waited for the food to be prepared. Decided to "treat yo' self" and do the Snow Crab Roll for $29 and gyoza, spicy tuna hand roll and the shrimp tempura hand roll. The first surprise was looking at the receipt - the $29 Roll and $11 gyoza rang up as $32 and $14. I pointed out the error and was told - those were the delivery/ pick up price. Wait...what? "It's the cost of the containers". As a woman who travels all over the US - I have never experienced a $3 up charge for take-away containers. Also - wasn't told about it - felt like I was hoodwinked. I can't get over the $32 Crab Roll - that roll wasn't worth more than $15 max. I promise that was imitation crab on a California roll. Thought we would give this location another try for my FWB $50 birthday coupon. The service at this location still leaves a lot to be desired. We ordered some edamame as an appetizer, we then ordered a sushi & nigiri combination which comes with soup and a salad. We requested the soup come out hot, it did. Only problem the soup and the sushi came out before the edamame, I cancelled the edamame. I then had to remind the server that we needed the salads. When it came time to settle the bill they had issues with the FWB birthday coupon, it was eventually resolved. I will NEVER go back to this location ever again. Three strikes and their out!! Our waitress wasn't very knowledgeable about the menu. When I asked about a cocktail, instead of describing the flavor or making a recommendation, she simply read the list of ingredients from the menu. The same thing happened when I asked about a sushi roll that wasn't described on the menu--her response was essentially, "It's what you're looking up on your phone," which was odd and not helpful at all. On top of that, there didn't seem to be any air conditioning, so the restaurant was uncomfortably warm. The sushi itself was just okay. The rolls kept falling apart, making them difficult to eat. While the food wasn't inedible, it definitely wasn't worth the price or the overall experience. (Not even at happy hour) Unfortunately, I won't be returning. read more

Thought i was coming for a quick lunch for some sushi and this turned into almost 2 hours. We were seated right away so that was no issue then ordered drinks happy to know it was happy hour. We ordered water and 2 drinks for the table amd surprisingly the water took at least 15 min to arrive and when our server came back we started to order Edamame and some rolls we also tried the lobster roll. Edamame you can't mess up but the lobster rolls had no flavor and was disappointed. The sushi rolls were good. My only concern was the wait time. RA Sushi located within the Plantation Walk plaza. It's really centrally located and easy to find with parking along the street and also in the garage. Came here to eat with some high school friends and we were able to grab a table for 9 easily! The service was pretty prompt at the beginning but started to taper off as the night went on. Service is usually meh at all RA locations but this one was a bit more off than usual. The food was overall okay but the service really impeded the experience for me. I was also SUPER surprised that asking for spicy mayo on the side cost an extra $2. I thought that these sauces typically came with our rolls (especially the Viva Las Vegas Roll) but was so surprised when we got the bill and that charge was tacked on. I typically understand but would've appreciated the server letting us know that this was an extra charge. The servers also always brought food to our table that wasn't ours. By the end of the night, the service was super lackluster and after asking for our bill multiple times and many mix ups, we were given a wet receipt. We like when our little one eats first and he did, but ALL other dishes arrived at different times for our family of 4. The filet and lobster was good but the burger was overcooked. Surprisingly we had to ask for many things such as the sauces that were supposed to gone with dishes or silverware. Fortunately the waiter said "I Got You" to every request. I was done with my entrée and my husband had hadn't been served yet. The waiter seemed overwhelmed. He was apologizing to the table next to us, and then he apologized to us as well. Got here around 3:23 pm on a Saturday with 2 of my friends. We walked in just in time for happy hour which started at 3. I was looking forward to my meal because I hadnt been to RA in years. Who took our drink orders right away. We asked for 3 waters and 2 cocktails. It took about 15 minutes to make it to the table. I think that was too long. It was a Lycheetini and a Pina Colada. Both drinks were just ok. They were both included in the happy hour. After looking over the menu, and getting some explanations from Angel. We ordered edamame Lobster Devil eggs, Vegas Rolls, Crunchy shrimp tempura rolls, and what I believed was rackin shrimp rolls on the happy hour menu. This food took about 45 minutes to get to the table. I actually had to ask Angel what was taking so long and he said they only had one Sushi chef. He should've warned us earlier if that was the case. The edamame was good. Lobster Deviled Eggs. VERY bland. Didn't taste like the yoke was "Deviled" at all. Came with 2 eggs cut in half, for $14. All of the rolls were good. We added eel sauce and spicy mayo to take it up a notch. Yummy. The shrimp on top of the rackin shrimp rolls were not hot. Felt like it had been sitting a while before they brought it to me but it was still good. A problem arised when the check came. On the happy hour menu, The rolls are $12. However, the rackin shrimp roll showed as $20 on the bill. When I brought it up to Angel he said that the rackin shrimp and rackin shrimp rolls are 2 different things, sorry if he confused me." This bothered me though, because I told him that I wanted to stay on the happy hour menu. If he realized that I ordered something off of the regular menu, he should've said something. I never even opened the regular menu. He was standing there the entire time as I asked him questions about items on the happy hour menu. He made no effort to correct it. A nice Sushi bar that specializes in some pretty darn good rolls as well as some good drinks. I recently was here for happy hour and had a nice amount of food/drink at some really nice prices! I sat at the bar and only waited a few moments for the bar tender to come over. She went over the items on the menu and came back after giving me a little time to look over it. She had some good recommendations and, because it was cold, I got a carafe of the hot sake as well as a sushi roll of the spicy tuna. The rice on the tuna roll was amazing and cooked perfectly. It also had a nice stickiness to it that held together while I was eating it. The tuna had a nice kick to it without being overpowering and the heat died down after a few seconds, making it a delicious roll. I wish it was bigger! For the price of $6 it can't be beat! The sake was nice and warm and I liked that it was served very pretty in a nice white ceramic carafe. It had a nice flavor to it and mixed well with the sushi roll. On a cool day like it was, this was the best choice. My friend got Dragon Bite. It was nice and sweet but I wasn't a huge fan of it. At $12 dollars, I would not get it personally but to each their own. Overall a great experience and I will be back again for happy hour here in the future! Ra is actually owned by Benihana. Nat is the best server. Their lobster volcano is a must. Sushi is always fresh. Miso is perfect. And I like the chicken hibachi. I go at least 1-2 times per week. It is in plantation point off of university north of broward. All of their deserts are great. The one with four flavors. Mango etc looks like cookies but it's ice cream. That one paired with an expresso martini is the perfect ending. Ask for Nat. It's also great to go for drinks and a lite bite. Searing is inside or out. Parking is easy in the back. read more

The recently opened RA Sushi Bar is located in the center of the Plantation Walk and is a visual masterpiece. The building looks large although is deceiving. The entire right side of the restaurant consists of a large bar and a hostess counter with an outside patio that is currently closed for repairs. The kitchen is a nice open view concept behind the sushi bar, which proudly displays beautiful fresh sushi ready to be sliced and garnished for human consumption. There are only about six large tables on the left side dining area with bar stools surrounding the sushi bar in arm's reach of the diligent chef. The nightly happy hour is 9pm - midnight and provides deep discounts on sushi rolls at $9.00 which are vibrant and large portioned. A bowl of edamame is offered at a ridiculous low price of $3.00. The oversized spring rolls were excellent, lightly oiled with a crispy shell, but give them a few minutes to settle before taking a bite - sadly, I was not prepared for the blast of heat in my mouth. The gender assigned men's bathroom was clean with lower black and red accented tile against and white flooring. The upper wall paper depicted the Samurai in different fighting positions, which displayed great detail for a sushi bar. The area on the left side of the center sushi bar was a mess, the staff should find another area to roll silverware and take their breaks, just my opinion of course. Street parking is free and after 9pm is plentiful, while optional garage parking is also available. Fun night with friends and will return for another happy hour in the near future. read more

Diondre was our server and was nothing short of attentive during this happy hour which was pretty busy. We just in 10 mins before the happy hour ended. He ensured we punched in our orders to take advantage of the specials which were a good balance of appetizers and some of their most popular rolls. Personal favorites would be the Viva Las Vegas and Crunchy Calamri roll are sure wins. The vibe here was really good as it wasn't too crazy in terms of a crowd but good energy with music that wasn't too loud which allowed conversation amongst each other. Highly recommended! read more

I've been to RA for happy hour sushi before and came here for lunch recently with my best friend. It was conveniently in the area and was perfect for us to get some sushi since we were craving it! The staff were very friendly and answered all my questions that I had regarding the bento boxes. They had a pretty good deal that I couldn't pass up! From the moment we walked in to the restaurant, service was horrendous. No one at the host stand when we walked in, so we were just standing around. Finally, someone came & when I said I had a reservation, they said "oh let me get the host." Ended up waiting even longer for the host to come seat us. Once our server arrived, she was friendly and prompt to put our orders in. Food came out relatively quick, but we had no napkins or silverware/chopsticks of any kind. So again, we were just waiting for someone to walk by so we could ask for something to eat our food with. Then our sushi came out & again, we had to ask for soy sauce dishes. Overall, it just felt like we had to ask for everything. Food was just okay. The best bite we had was the RA RA shrimp. It was crunchy & the sauce had the right amount of heat. Spicy crispy rice was just okay - the fish was not fresh. The crunchy calamari roll and viva la vegas roll were both quite bland & both had way too much cream cheese. My coworker and I dropped in to Ra for an after work happy hour & chat. We opted for outdoor bar seating as the weather was nice. We were greeted immediately by the bartenders and given menus, and once sat they activated the fans, which I appreciated. The drinks were okay, we both ordered strawberry margaritas and agreed the puree used was a bit thick making it hard to sip. For some light bites I got the Spicy Crispy rice with Salmon which came out incredibly fast and was amazing! The bartender also recommended the Ra'ckin shrimp which was good as well and my co worker got the Pork Gyoza which she also enjoyed. Being that we just came from work and weren't absolutely starving, I took another recommendation from the bartender for sushi to go and I am extremely happy I did. I believe it was the Chili Ponzu Yellowtail Roll and this was so tasty! We each spent about $40-$60 (we took some shots!) Such a good spot for happy hour. They have $3, $6, $9 and $12 items, so it's easy to try and assortment. We went on a Saturday, which is rare to find a happy hour on the weekend. It was pretty quiet, besides at the bar area. We had no problem getting a spot at the bar. The service was great. We were greeted and served immediately. I love when you go to places with happy hour and the servers let you know it's happy hour rather than having to ask for the menu. So I started with the lycheetini, which is part of happy hour. It was strong and delicious. All the food was great too. We got a bunch of happy hour bites. My favorite was the spicy crispy rice. We looked at the regular menu but it was very pricey, compared to other sushi spots in the area, so we just stuck to the happy hour menu. Everything from the service to the quality of the food has gone downhill. Our meal was served before the appetizers, which makes no sense for a sit-down restaurant. After finding a decent park inside the Plantation Walk garage, I made it just in time for my lunch reservation at RA Sushi Bar Restaurant. At first glance the restaurant has such a bold casual vibe with it's red & black decor. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. There's also seating around the bar area and the sushi bar. The hostess and bartender who greeted me was friendly. While taking a few minutes overlooking the menu, I was surprised that none of the drinks appealed to me so I just settled for a soft drink. Large selection of sushi, entrees, poke bowls, bento boxes and much more. Menu prices are moderate, yet the prices for the lunch deals and happy hour are reasonable. I placed an order for a California roll which was served with miso soup and uchi no salad. Here's my thoughts about the food: * It was my first time having miso soup. Nothing much to it...just scallions, pieces of kelp seaweed and tofu in a unique flavored broth. Never had tofu before and I'm not sure if I would have it again. That jelly-like texture needs getting used to...it was ok though. * The uchi no salad was freshly made with mixed greens and sliced cherry tomatoes in a soy-ginger vinaigrette...again just ok. * The California roll was freshly made and was tasty. Soy sauce was provided for dipping. Wasn't salty. * Had a bit of room for dessert so I ordered the coconut creme brulee which was creamy and delectable. Overall the meal was somewhat enjoyable. I ate at this restaurant on New Year's Eve. It was super busy but our server Ajha was super sweet. I asked her about the menu and she made some suggestions and I am happy I took her advice in picking the sushi she recommended. She recommended the Rackin Shrimp and the dipping sauce was soo good. For the entree I chose the hibachi steak with shrimp. I shared this entree with my mom but I felt like it was a bit small to share. I am aware that the restaurant was super busy that day but I had to let my server know that I enjoyed the entree but never received the Rackin Shrimp yet. She spoke to the kitchen staff and they had it out right away. I loved the location because they had an outdoor free event in the plaza because it was new years and they gave me beads, new years hat and a noise maker. The parking is free and it is in the garage.
