We were looking for a nice Saturday lunch date and Chima didn't disappoint. We came close to opening time so it was empty, service was impeccable, and everything was tidy and neat. The salad bar was plentiful and had a good mix of toppings. We really loved the smoked Salmon and beef carpaccio. They also had hot side dishes and steak sauces available. Our favorite was scallop potatoes. In terms of meats which is the star of the show, we loved the Cajun Lamb, Cajun ribeye, salmon with cilantro sauce, and grilled pineapple with cinnamon. We underwhelmed with the beef rib because it tasted more like pot roast. All the other options were solid and truly no bad bites at all. Loved the experience and will be back! read more

We've been here and Fogo de Chão (both places more than once). Chima definitely has more options if you don't eat meat (yes, I know, it's weird to go if you don't eat meat, but I take my husband for his birthday). But each time we go, which isn't often, I feel like it gets more and more...meh. Last time we went, we got walked aaaaaall the way past every table for two and sat in the back at a table for four...okay. Kind of annoying but not a huge deal. Our waiter disappeared after a while. He didn't seem to understand that I wanted the seafood token, but finally got me one (by the way, the grilled cheese with honey is not included with this token...which is odd). There was one guy walking around who asked if we needed anything, so we asked for the salmon/shrimp/grilled pineapple to come around. He delivered! I will say the pão de queijo (cheese bread) was hard. I know how to make these, and it's not difficult. We've eaten at quite a few Brazilian Steakhouse, most of them have fixed prices for everyone. It's graduation season, we visited our friends in VA and he took us to this restaurant to celebrate their anniversary. The price here is $70 per person which is a little higher than other places that I've been. The restaurant is very nice and clean. The servers are quite attentive and pleasant. I like the salad bar with many fresh produce to choose from, we can make our own dip. There are many types of meats that served, but some are quite chewy and a few are tender which I like. The meat servers come very often, we have to turn the sign off a few times to finish what are on our plates. Once in a while on a special occasion, having Brazillian food is nice, but to me it's still over priced. The young people like our friend's sons enjoy this place tremendously, they can eat very well. An array of meats are offered including chicken, pork, and various of beef. There are also servings of shrimp to go around as well as delightful slices of cinnamon pineapple! Office holiday party and we took up the back of the restaurant (8 tables? of 10). I helped myself to the salad bar which had many options. They were pretty good about replenishing too. The guys coming around with the meat were attentive! And paid attention to how you liked it cooked. Some beef things were good, some outstanding. I didn't try the chicken or shrimp. We had a choice of the cheesecake or the chocolate cake. Chocolate cake was good and thank god, a small piece! Wish they had something lighter like ice cream. I brought my son here to celebrate his graduation. We visited during the middle of the day, so the restaurant was not very busy. Unfortunately, the service was disappointing. I had a party of eight, and we often had to flag down our server for assistance. In most restaurants, the staff is attentive and regularly checks on guests, but that was not the case here. Since the food was not being served by the waitstaff, I expected drink refills and basic customer service to be more proactive. My 3rd visit here and it was NOT a charm. Celebrated my anniversary our server was nice. We got our starters: Polenta sticks not good. Puffy bread balls: hard as a rock. Brazilian mash potatoes. I stopped in at Chima Steakhouse Tysons Corner after leaving AMC Tysons Corner, and when we first arrived the dining room wasn't very crowded. After 8:00 PM, though, it definitely filled up. I hadn't been to in more than 10 years, so I was excited to return--and I'm happy to say it absolutely lived up to my memory. If you're searching for a Brazilian steakhouse in Tysons Corner with a great salad bar and authentic rodizio dining, this spot really delivers. I still remembered how good their salad bar was--and it did not disappoint. What I didn't realize before is that you can order the Select Rodizio and choose just one protein (shrimp, chicken, sausage, or picanha). Our entire table chose the picanha, and it was the right choice. Right after we sat down, they brought out warm cheese rolls with a creamy spread that had a slightly salmon-style, savory flavor. It was a great way to start the meal. At the salad bar, I loaded up on fresh vegetables, rice, beans, sausage, smoked salmon, and beef carpaccio. The beef carpaccio was absolutely amazing. One of my friends grabbed the chimichurri sauce, which I ended up loving--bright, fresh, and very flavorful (I personally would have enjoyed just a touch more garlic, but it was still excellent). Our server, Karas, was excellent and very attentive, and they kept the picanha coming. It was cooked perfectly--medium rare, juicy, and with just the right amount of fat along the edges. They also brought us crispy polenta, whipped potatoes, and fried bananas. Went to Chima's for my husband's birthday dinner. We've been to Fogo before, but were excited to try a new Brazilian steakhouse. I have to say, I think I prefer our dinner experience at Chima. The service was great from the start. We were initially seated in a darker area of the restaurant, which made it hard to see (especially for me because I can't really see well in dim lighting). Our waiter was able to find us a better spot, which I really appreciated. The food was also fantastic. The meats were tender and well-seasoned. My favorite was the picanha. I thougth the servers also did a great job rotating through the cuts; we never felt like we were getting the same meats over and over. The salad bar also had a wide variety of options, and the sides were good. I liked the cheese bread, polenta fries, and the grilled caramelized pineapple. We had a great experience at China and you really can't beat the flavor and quality of the food! Our favorite bites were the lamb chops, ribeye, cheese bread, and the grilled pineapple. The salad bar has a good mix of pasta salads, breads, and veggies. We were celebrating a graduation so they brought us a complimentary cheesecake, which was also good. Also, the valet is only $5 which is pretty awesome. There are a couple bumps in the ambiance and service. When we were first seated it took about 5 minutes for a waiter to come around with drink menus and explain the setup. Then on the back half of our meal we didn't get any service from the gauchos for about 10 minutes. This was Mother's Day weekend so it was crowded. Lastly, and this is a nitpick, but they call your name out for reservations like orders at McDonald's, for a place of this level you'd think they'd have a more upscale experience. Chima was always our family go to for birthdays, celebrations, etc. growing up. The last I had been here was in 2018, and it was fantastic. Now 8 years later, I find myself disappointed and likely never coming back after experiencing what this place used to be. It's obvious to me management is more keen on turning tables and making money. Chima used to be intimate and special. It was quiet, and the gauchos were hounding you to the point you HAD to turn your coin card over to get them to slow down. Now, I felt like I stepped into a conference hall, where I can't even hear the person across from me due to the hundreds of people dining at once due to overbooking tables (even with a reservation, our table was 30 mins late to sit us). Weirdly enough too, a DJ playing awful music the whole time didn't help. For a 4 $$$$ experience, why is a club DJ blaring in the background? The gauchos were also very infrequent in serving our table. I never felt like I had to turn my coin over once during service, as opposed to years past. Even when paying for the full experience, our table right next to us were served things we were never offered. The only thing keeping this review from one star is the food which is still quite good. However, for a 4 $$$$ sign establishment, I recommend dining elsewhere for that special occasion, if you really do want the occasion to feel special. If you like meat...and a wide selection you need to visit Chima. Reservations for 6:30 on a Thursday, the place had a few patrons. We were seated directly in line with the salad bar. The salad bar has a monster selection of everything salad releated plus breads, potatoes, cold pasta. I was saving my appetite for the meat. Initially the waiter comes with filet, then small sausages, chicken (I say no to chicken, I cook chicken at home), then came another huge selection of perfectly cooked meats. The picanha, cajun ribeye, flank steak and shrimp were some things that were excellent. On the table is a disc, one side says more meat (I think it's the red side) and the other says I'm good for now (I think that's the black side). The service is pretty good. They're always asking if you want a beer or glass of wine, I was driving so I have to decline. Meat selection and salad bar are great, you'll eat until you can't eat any more. Yeah it's a little pricey but it's a treat, dinner out with a friend or a good place for the second or third date with a lady. I'll be back, count on that. read more

We came to this restaurant for Father's Day to celebrate the Dad's in our lives. Boy,was I surprised at the wonderful service and the attentive staff. The restaurant is beautiful. A person in our party initially made the reservations however, the time needed to be changed to further accommodate the added guest. I was able to call to change the time of reservations without any problems although they were booked. What I loved about the restaurant was having the salmon that was on the menu the warm cheese and smoked pineapple . This is my first time being able to get these added items at a Brazilian steakhouse. Oh, the salad bar is fully stocked with so many fresh items including soups. I never heard of the this restaurant before this visit. It was great to try something totally new and different all while having such a great experience and love shown to Fathers. They had a photo prop up for picture taking for Father's Day which I had to take full advantage of. Atmosphere - contemporary, open, and inviting Service - front desk staff is not as efficient as the back wait staff, while we were waiting to be seated, they were scrambling over the guest list and who has been seated and who has not, someone needs to train them better. The dining area wait staff were a different story. They were navigating the noisy and slightly chaotic tables filled with large families tables like a pro. Whenever we needed something, we could wave down any staff pass by and get what we needed, which is great. Value - pricey, about $70 per person for dinner on the weekend. Cocktails is about $20 per drink . given the quality of meats and nice selections of open salad bar items, it's worth it.... A note to small stomach people like me, this is not meant for people like us, but I will still go for the good companies. Parking - There is a nearby parking garage with 2 hr free parking, which is about a couple of minutes' walking distance. Ive never felt this uncomfortable at a restaurant before. Granted I came on Valentine's day and it was busy, I felt extremely uncomfortable upon us being seated, the table wasn't even ready yet. Server was greeting us while organizing other seats out of place. The table unfortunately had a draft so I was freezing the entire time. They didn't give us apps til 10 mins after we sat. The server completely forgot our chips to allow the people who deliver the meat to know if we want more or not. (The most important part of the place.) The server also asked what we liked so he can put in an order, I specifically mentioned beef. Within the first hour we were there only 2 people came with beef for us. I had also unfortunately got some drink spilled on me. I will probably never come back again over Fogo. I was however, comped for my meal while my Partner paid for his. Beef ribs were the best cut in my opinion. So tender and juicy. The filet mignon only came in medium or well done. For the cut, it was a little dry. The ribeye was tender and so were the lamb chops. I usually hate lamb but these did not taste gamey at all. The shrimp were also super succulent and I enjoyed the garlic sirloin flavor. Also the cheese bread!! So good and I loved the spread. Delicious food although a little pricey. The Brazilian steakhouse experience is fun though. I think individual dishes at other restaurants may taste better but you won't get ther variety or experience that you would here. Recommend checking out this style of dining. Unfortunately, the service was not as attentive as it could have been. We waited at least 5-10 minutes before a server came to us which was unexpected for a high end restaurant like this. Shame on Chima for not updating their website for alternate menus - We were given either the Full Experience for $79 (website listed $65) or Restaurant Week option for $59, both with the salad bar. After placing our orders, we were given the sticker and of course we were all "ready!". We waited for 5 mins, no Gauchos came by to our table but walking around and past us. We went to the salad bar, came back and were then being served with Top Sirloin, Garlic Flank, Lamp Chops, Chicken. And then the serving stopped. I have never been to a Brazilian steakhouse where I would be waiting for food. We flagged down a Gaucho and he said his meat was not part of our meal. In hindsight, I would have asked a copy of the meat list so we know what was included. We were not asking for additional meat variety, we liked what was served, but they stopped serving to our table. We ordered a bottle of Haut-Médoc and now have no food to go with it. After asking our server, the top sirloin came back once. Grilled Pineapple came back 4 times. The two stars are for the meat that we did have which was well made (on the medium and medium well side. If you like rare will need to ask for it), and they have a decent wine list. Parking is $5 valet. Or self parking at the garage across from the restaurant for $5 (2 hours) We have a Fogo de Chao nearby so I thought to try Chima when an out of town guest visited. They also offer other grilled options including chicken, shrimp, Halloumi cheese and my favorite the pineapple with cinnamon. The service was top tier, everything was so good and flavorful. Wow wow wow! My boyfriend and I tried Chima for the first time tonight for our anniversary dinner and it was amazing! We had a reservation for 8:30 and they were very busy on a Saturday night (totally understandable). We had Michael as our server and he was super nice! The salad bar and the meat selection was super good. Out favorite meat was the filet, it was seasoned super well and cooked perfectly. I also really enjoyed the salad bar & the grilled cheese they offer is a must! I also really liked that the managers stopped by our table on several occasions just to check in on us to make sure our dining experience was excellent. That showed to us that they really care about their guests & our experience as well. Every staff member we encountered whether it was from servers, managers, hosts & the staff passing the meat around was amazing. It's one of my favorite steakhouses! I usually come here for a birthday or private party event. I will breakdown this review for easier comparison. Ambiance: Dim setting with modern aesthetic fixtures. The eatablishment is surrounded by windows but doesn't get much sunlight during the day. Very spacious but some areas is a little clustered. They are able to hold small and large parties as well private parties. The bar area is probably the most brightest and also spacious. Includes lounge chairs and high tops. Food: Variety of meats! The rancheros will ask you if you want it med, well-done, rare, etc. The salad bar is much larger and has a variety of cold meats, salads, fruits and soup options. The sauces is even included in the Salad bar (compared to fogo). Dessert is a separate menu. The cost varies pending what you chose. More variety to select from. Very spacious, clean, and fine dining interior. Your table starts with four appetizers (fried bananas, fried yuca?, mashed potatoes, and a cheesy bread. Didn't really like the first two but enjoyed the mashed potato and bread. The salad bar has a variety from salads, soups, vegetables, pasta, etc. Meat selection includes: Chicken, Top Sirloin, Lamb Chop, Picanha, Shrimp, Jalapeño Steak, Beef Ribs, Filet Mignon, etc. Everything was nicely seasoned! Besides the meats, they also serve cinnamon coated grilled pineapple (great dessert after all the protein). Service was great at first but declined as the time went by.
