Went on OpenTable looking for a nice reasonable seafood and steakhouse for my parents 40th anniversary. Found this gem. Looked at the menu and it had a variety of options. And it was not expensive. I wanted a comfortable setting but romantic for them. I worked with Ms Rosi there and she was amazing. The food. The ambiance. The service. Our waiter Ryan. Was all amazing. It's not big in the inside as it is on the outside there but it's cute. They even have outdoor seating. The bar is very nice. The decor and interior decoration is simple black and white but it has a chic Southern appeal. I can't wait to come back. Thank you Drapers for helping us celebrate my parents 40th wedding anniversary. We appreciate you guys so much.

Really 3.5 stars - the ambiance is gorgeous, simple but upscale + the friendly efficient staff. The food was average for the prices. Honestly nothing spectacular, could have been eating at First Watch. The bottomless mimosas (blackberry) was refreshing strong - yum yum. It was V-day outing with my moms & hubs, glad we checked out but not sure if we'll return.

The food was good. The service was fantastic and the setting was great. We arrived as a party of six and two others joined us late to celebrate a birthday. Avery, our server, was attentive and helpful. We ordered the Baratta appetizer and that was great. One of our party arrived after we had ordered, and Avery managed to bring her dinner out within five minutes of the rest of us receiving our food. My husband had the seafood cioppino and loved it. I had grilled rockfish and it was good, but the roasted vegetables were awesome. Crab cakes (had by another in our party) were very small. Parking was a little difficult.

Dinner at Draper's Steak & Seafood had its highs and a few letdowns, but overall still a nice experience. We started with the Garlic White Wine Mussels, which were honestly the standout; so flavorful and the sauce was too good. We ended up asking for extra bread just to keep dipping (definitely a must-order). For mains, we got two 14 oz NY strips; one medium with coleslaw and one medium rare with truffle mac and cheese (they also come with mashed potatoes). To be completely honest, I expected a bit more flavor from the steaks. They were cooked well, but felt like they could've used more seasoning, especially compared to how bold the appetizer was. For drinks, the house Sauvignon Blanc was solid, and the Old Fashioned was also well done. The staff was very welcoming and helpful, which definitely added to the experience. The ambiance leans more on the boujee side with nice background music, so it's a good spot if you're going for that vibe. Just a heads up, parking can be a bit tricky, so plan ahead. Overall, a good dinner with some standout moments, especially the mussels.

The food here is delicious. We stopped by this location after our escape room adventure. The service was absolutely amazing. We ordered the Grilled salmon, asparagus and potatoes and the crab cake eggs Benedict dish. Both were delicious! Tons of flavor. The dessert looked amazing but we were too stuffed to order anything else.

I came here with my family for my birthday dinner on a Wednesday evening so we did the half off wine bottle deal. The interior is a lot smaller than I thought however they do seem to have a couple private rooms for events. Parking is very limited so we had to park about 5 minutes away and walk over. We got 2 NY strips and a filet medium rare. We always have high expectations for steakhouses so we were a bit disappointed to see one of our steaks was closer to medium well. We also got the tuna tartar and grilled caesar. The tartar was also underwhelming considering how much avocado and how little tuna there was. Sad to say the "Steak & Seafood" portions of our meal were the most subpar. Not sure I would come back here for the food but they have great weekly drink deals.

Round up 3.5 stars to 4 Stepping into Draper's Steak & Seafood in Old Town Fairfax, one is greeted with the promise of classic steakhouse warmth and an ambitious seafood program. The space strikes a cozy, date-night cordially vibe, bolstered by attentive service that many locals appreciate. The calamari arrives tender and reasonably well-executed, paired with a medley of crisp vegetables; however, its sauce leans conspicuously toward heat over nuance, leaving the dish enjoyable but not memorable. The clam chowder, by contrast, is genuinely noteworthy: creamy, rich, and evoking the heritage of New England's best--comforting and well-balanced. As for rockfish, while competently grilled, lacked that distinctive spark that would elevate it beyond an everyday entrée. The cioppino follows a similar theme: shrimp impress with their freshness and delicate texture, while squid and the broth itself settle into the realm of satisfactory rather than standout. In sum, Draper's offers moments of genuine pleasure--most notably with its chowder and the freshness of its seafood--set within an inviting setting. Yet a few of the plates hover at "pleasantly average,"

New York Strip Steak w/ Gorgonzola Butter and Mashed Potatoes

The crab dip was out of this world, I'll be dreaming of it all night! The New York Strip was a little under cooked, but for the most part it was outstanding with the Gorgonzola butter sauce! Draper's was upscale, but not too upscale for an average Joe wanting to grab a nightcap and a good meal. Parking isn't great, but there are lots you can park and walk though. The manager was great, made sure the restaurant was top notch. The music playlist/set was awesome too!

The interior of Draper's is bright, modern, and inviting. It often compels me to go back against my better judgment. My advice is to go to Draper's on a full stomach. The bar is nice, the clientele is typically friendly, and I've had a good overall experience with the bartenders. They also have one of the better happy hours in town - $6 house wines, $6 draft beer, and $8 cocktails. On top of that, happy hour runs from open to close on Monday and Tuesday night. I have yet to figure out what is going on with the food. During my last trip, I got birria tacos with mozzarella cheese (?!) and no dipping sauce and four oysters that, if fused together, might form one normal sized oyster. They lacked brininess and overall flavor. It's admittedly been a while sense I've had a steak at Draper's, apparently one of their specialties, but I've had two bad experiences with the filet and they NY strip. Overcooked, overseasoned, underwhelming cuts of meat. I would likely be forgiving if the steaks didn't range from $49-$75 (though in fairness they come with two sides and sauce).

Came here for Saturday brunch with family! We were seated right away. I love the decor and finishes throughout the restaurant. The staff was super pleasant and our server was very attentive. I ordered the huevos rancheros with scrambled eggs. AMAZING, prob one of the best I've ever had. Everything tasted super fresh and hot! I later ordered their salmon entree for dinner through door dash. The fish didn't taste very fresh... hoping I caught them on bad evening but the brunch is enough for me to return!

My wife and I went to Draper's Steak & Seafood for Valtine's Day and really enjoyed our dinner. We shared the flash fried shishito peppers to start and found them to be light and flavorful. I'm usually not a fan of aioli but the aioli that came with the peppers wasn't overpowering (warning: the aioli comes on top of the peppers rather than on the side like we expected). They also bring out freshly baked bread and whipped butter if you ask! We both ordered the sea bass which was cooked to perfection with a crispy outside and fork tender inside. Our server was attentive and prompt throughout the evening. They do a nice job of separating the dining area from the bar, creating unique but equally inviting atmospheres. Will definitely be going back!

Outstanding! Everything is amazing! Great parking lot, the inside of the restaurant is well decorated and inviting, the service was fantastic! And the food and drinks were delicious! Loved the smoky taste on the fried oysters, and the crab dip was great with lumps of crabmeat and the Sangria was excellent. The Marsala sauce on the pork chop was tasty. Plan to try the chicken Marsala the next time. Shared the bread pudding with my mom, and for the first there was no dessert left over. We will definitely go again.

The salmon, while the best part of the dish, still left more to be desired. It was a bit dry and I didn't think the sauce was all that flavorful. The vegetables were fine, but the mashed potatoes were simply bad? They had the texture and flavor of instant mashed potatoes, slightly liquidity while being quite bland. From the outside, it looks like it seats maybe 75-100 people, but once you walk in, you realize it's easily 2.5 times that size. The layout feels open without being overwhelming, which helps it handle the crowds well. Service -- We had excellent service, especially considering how busy the restaurant was. We had a primary waiter, but 3-4 other staff members also stopped by throughout the meal to make sure everything was going smoothly. Whether it was refilling waters, checking on our infant child, or making sure our food arrived on time, the staff was consistently attentive and helpful. Variety -- The menu offers a wide range of both drinks and food. The wine list, in particular, is extensive. There are plenty of options for both lunch and dinner, with a strong mix of à la carte selections and traditional entrées. There's enough variety that most people should be able to find something they'll enjoy. Pro tip -- The restaurant is located inside a very busy mall area, so street parking can be limited. Plan to add a little extra time to your commute and parking search. Pro tip -- There are approximately 10-15 Tesla charging stations within walking distance, making this a convenient spot to grab a meal while charging your EV. Pro tip -- Public transit options to this area are somewhat limited, so driving is likely the easiest way to get there.
