Entrée options included salmon with couscous, chicken breast with rice, steak frites, and a vegetarian option. For the table, we also received sautéed spinach and mashed potatoes to share - always a win . Dessert was a decadent platter of flourless chocolate cake, crème brûlée, and cheesecake. For a table of six, it was the perfect amount to sample and share . Unfortunately, the service was subpar. While I understand there were about 45 people in the room, this lunch was planned far in advance and should have been staffed accordingly. Simple requests took far too long - I asked for ketchup and by the time it arrived, my fries were already cold. Beverage service was also painfully slow, which took away from the overall experience . The Capital Grille in Tysons Virginia was an excellent choice for dinner and they also always have one of the best service. Food came out fairly timed considering a busy Saturday night. Valet parking is the only option and it was only $5, I was surprised how quickly they were able to greet me with a line four cars deep. I tried to tip the driver however he kindly said it can be done upon leaving if needed. The dry aged Kona steak was quite large and cooked exactly how I liked, the thick cut was ordered medium rare and the color in the center was precise. The highlight was the breads, both the raisin rye bread and the sourdough onion bread were so tasty. I would like to compliment the server for staying professional and brisk although one of the trays tilted and spilled onto my shirt sleeve, she was very apologetic and quickly came back with an extra napkin and attention to help absorb the excess water. I didn't care too much for the other breads which is surprising because I love rye bread--the one in our basket was a bit cold and hard. I liked the variety in the basket though. The sea bass was good -- it was a bit on the overcooked side, but the sauce made up for the slight dryness. I liked the mushroom and asparagus, and the sauce wasn't overpowering to any of the food's flavors. I have been to the Pennsylvania Ave location numerous times and this location was more enjoyable and less of a scene. Last time I visited, I had the lamb chops and ribeye, which were both outstanding. This time, I tried the lobster stuffed shrimp (not even on the menu but if you ask, they'll make it, and it's an absolute must), the clam chowder, the Wagyu burger, and finished with a slice of Key Lime Pie. Everything was flavorful and well prepared, though I have to say the Coconut Cream Pie edges out the Key Lime for me in terms of dessert. The service was excellent, and I really appreciate that the staff went out of their way to accommodate a special request like the lobster stuffed shrimp. No slippers, shorts, T-shirts... etc Be prepared to spend at least $200 for a party of two without drinks. The servers and staff are all very welcoming and excellent. They have bar seats, high top chairs, or booths for walk-ins. They serve warm bread and a flat bread with sesame seeds on it. Mmm those were good even though they weren't the main course. I got the lobster bisque which wasn't all that worth for $18. I would skip it. The Lobster Mac n cheese was worth it as it comes out really hot on a cast iron. I also got the field greens salad, but I think the salad was overdressed and the seasoning was too strong. The dry aged porterhouse was really good. It was the special of the day. I wish I knew the price before ordering because it wasn't on the menu. I should have asked. The filet mignon was tender as you expect. In terms of coming out the way I wanted it cooked (medium rare), it was perfect. Meats were tender, well-seasoned, warm and easy to cut and consume. I did not get any beverages or dessert. The bill came out to be $220-ish and then tip so it was quite the expense for one meal. I would come like once a year for a steakhouse like this unless they have a good happy hour special. They did not have any happy hour menus. I did not want to use the valet service, so I parked at Tysons and walked over. I think that is one of the inconveniences of coming to this location is their valet rule for parking. I'd very much prefer to park myself. read more

Went there for lunch with my mom. I asked for the steak medium to which the server said (that's pink throughout) to which is said perfect. When it came it was more like well done with only a tiny bit of pink on two slices. I could only eat a few pieces before stopping. The fries were fantastic. Crunchy and flavorful with the perfect amount of salt. When the server came by I showed him the steak and he said he'd take care of it. The manger came by shortly after and asked if they could prepare a new one to which I declined. He said he'd take it off the bill which he did hence the 4 stars. I got crème brûlée for dessert which was alright. It was a little too sweet but the berries that came with it were delicious. My mom got the clam chowder, Chilean seabass with mashed potato's and crème brûlée for dessert. I didn't try the chowder but she was raving about it. I did try the seabass which was amazing with a very generous portion. The mashed potatoes were also delicious with a fantastic flavor. A problem did arise at the end. When I went to pay I wanted to use a few Egift card codes but they kept saying they needed the physical cards. After a few minutes I decided to just pay with a credit card. It was very odd that they needed the physical cards because I had payed at 5 other Darden restaurants with them without any issue. Basically a martini with fancy olives. What I got was a glass full of mostly olive brine, with maybe a little vodka, and a couple of olives that had the texture (and flavorlessness) of plastic. For dinner I ordered the Dry Aged NY Strip* au Poivre with Courvoisier Cream. The meat was very tough and the ONLY thing I could taste was pepper. Frankly, I had a much better strip steak a few days before at a pub in Charles Town, WV where they were selling it by the ounce. Since it was my birthday, they gave me a complementary desert. I wish this restaurant had the audacity to let their customers know that Fridays are their busiest and it doesn't allow room for a much intimate experience which people like myself were going there to experience. Did I mention that they sat us right beside all others who were celebrating either a birthday or anniversary. We also all got the same complimentary dessert which didn't make us feel special at all. I feel like the choice of dessert if something is going to be free should be of the consumer and not the restaurant. However, that is my opinion. My ribeye was great. My husband's steak was poorly cooked. It was over charged and rather on the well done side instead of medium as requested. We had our work offsite wrap up at TCG on a weeknight. Drinks, vino, apps (fuhgetaboutthatmozzandprosciutto), bruschetta, calamari, steaks, mashed potatoes, and deserts (did the chocolate ALSO taste like coffee? Boom.) were all flowing like....wine? While yes, the food was 100, we're writing this review about the impeccable service. Servers were peppy, eager, hit many curve balls, and quickly corrected any errors. We appreciate TCG's GM, leadership, kitchen, and servers for setting such a positive tone and offering us a warm, upscale experience. I came here for restaurant week and it was a good experience overall but there could be some improvements. Pros: --Service was excellent. Our waiter checked on us often and refilled our water over 7 times, Lol. --Food was on point. My filet mignon was cooked to perfection. The sides and cheesecake were tasty as well. Cons: --Although he was attentive, our waiter did not inform us that our sides are complimentary refills. So we didn't get the chance to order more of it. --I ordered the lobster as an add in to my filet mignon and it literally was so small! For an additional $15; it was not worth it. read more

It was our Anniversary lunch... they sprinkled our table with hearts, along with a card. And as a bonus, they gave us a complimentary dessert. It was all the little extras that made our experience so great! Caesar salad- crispy lettuce and loved the dressing. Filet mignon with crab meat and Béarnaise sauce, over a bed of asparagus. Filet was cooked medium as requested and flavorful. Chilean Sea Bass- delicious and prepared well. Dessert chocolate cake and cheese cake. It was so hard to decided which tasted better because they were both so good! We would definitely return. Great customer service and attentive staff too. This is such an amazing place to celebrate special evenings over dinner! We visit often and always ask for Walter or Mark when we go. On this particular visit, which was to celebrate a new job, we sat with Mark and he did an amazing job taking care of us! The food was outstanding, as always! The venue is upscale and excellent! And they have such an appetizing and amazing menu loaded with all the favs we enjoy! We'll continue to return, but not only for special events, just for the average date night too! I went for my wedding anniversary. They did an excellent job making it special with a hand written note amongst other things. Although the food was delicious, I don't think it quite lived up to the price. read more

AJ was such a helpful and attentive sever! Thanks for a wonderful dinner! I will be back. Loved the perfectly cooked halibut and the butter sauce was flavorful. The au gratin potatoes were creamy and tender. The coconut pie was delightful. Beautiful interior especially the bar area. I'm glad i found this spot and will definitely come back during my next trip. It was packed by the time i was done with my early dinner on a Tuesday night. read more
