They recommend the work that was needed to stop the leak and we agreed to proceed with their services. The pipe continued to leak and they did come back once to "fix" the leak. It never stopped leaking even after the follow up visit. Subsequent calls were met with excuses as to why they could not come out right away. Fast forward to "today"... we decided to have a new roof installed due to other issues so I had a real professional stove installer out to reassess the entire stove pipe from the stove itself all the way up to the weather cap. In his opinion, the repairs done by Jerry were "laughable" (his words, not mine) and that the telescoping pipe he used inside the house was totally wrong and installed upside down. At least it is done correctly now. I would not recommend Crystals service... what a total waste of money that was.

You could tell most of these chimney companies just wanted to cash in. Integrity Chimney guys wanted to preserve the history and recommended a tuck point which turned out fantastic. They are experts in what they do and are trustworthy and fair. Their communication is also top notch, constantly communicating anything that comes up. They were timely, cleaned up, and the attention to detail was fantastic. We also had them install a chimney insert on the inside of the home which they helped us choose, schedule, and install. That same day our ladder went missing , I simply said could you ask the guys if they might have picked it up our ladder by accident. She informed me that the guys were offended that we would accuse them of steeling our ladder. NOT what I said at all. Goodness. I received two estimates for a wood fireplace insert. I was clear in what I wanted and didn't want. When I went to accept one of the bids the total amount of the work order was increased by $400. With no note of explanation. They added back the liner I made clear we did not need to replace. When I questioned Robin about anything, she became defensive. I didn't need to replace the liner in my chimney as the one I have is stainless steel and didn't need to be replaced. She says well are you a professional installer! Very condescending. NOT the point. They were insistent on charging for a new liner. She wanted to make sure I understood if they came out and the liner had to be replaced we would know the cost. Ok that is fair why add it back to the work order without telling me and then become defensive. When I questioned the increase of cost. She then went on to say , I also questioned the chimney top. Derrick immediately found a safety issue as no gas shut-off valve had ever been installed on it. I made a future appointment to install the valve and clean the fireplace. Derrick returned and performed the tasks to my satisfaction. I inquired about a new metal surround for the insert because the current one was make-shift and unattractive. Henry came out the same day and suggested that he could remake the current one into something better and less costly. And he did. I love the fireplace now, it works great, it is safe, and good as new. Derrick and Henry were both friendly, efficient, were patient with me, and took good care of my floors while performing the work.
