From the quick response to my online request, to the thorough investigation into the fireplace update I was seeking, to the actual service call, All Fuel was consistently exemplary exceeding all expectations! Highly recommend! In fact, I have recommended them to others in my building and almost a dozen have utilized them for fireplace cleaning and maintenance and raved about their service. My intent was to replace my current "traditional" looking gas fireplace that has 3 logs with a modern single horizontal flame and glass rocks. After calling the company that installed the original fireplace and getting the run around for weeks with promises to call back in an hour but never called back, I did what I typically do and went to Yelp for recommendations. All Fuel stood out. I emailed them via their website over the weekend and received a written response within 2 hours. After exchanging several emails about the make and model of my unit, and pictures of what I wanted, the customer service rep called the manufacturer to see if it could be achieved. When a serial number was required, they even sent a worker out to get the number from the plate under the logs! That is service! Unfortunately my fireplace could not be updated; the entire unit would have to be replaced to get the modern look I wanted. Since I had just designed the fireplace surround, I had to go with Plan B which was to refresh what was there. To give the existing fireplace a COVID-19 facelift so to speak! The service team, Bob and Ted - and yes they have heard all of the jokes - came on time, did a thorough job, was conscientious of keeping the area around the fireplace clean, and got to work transforming my fireplace. They first cleaned it out, then repainted the walls black, rearranged the logs, added fresh embers, covered the exposed floor plate with lava rocks and cleaned the glass door that was covered in a film. The result? A fireplace that looks brand new! To keep the glass clean, they recommended White Out fireplace cleaner, never Windex. Going forward, I will do a maintenance clean up every year or two, depending on the usage. Summer months are best for cleaning as their already very reasonable price is reduced. As soon as the fireplace was finished, I took a pic and sent it out to my community; within an hour, several residents set up appointments. Now that others have given their fireplace a facelift, even more have scheduled appointments. Every single person was thrilled and had same stellar experience. This company, rocks! One of the most attentive companies we have ever worked with. They get back to you with text messages, they are on time and do an excellent job! Very professional courteous, and want nothing but for you to be happy and satisfied with the finished results. Also they had the inspector come out next day and we got the green flag everything was done perfectly and are happily building fires now. These installers had to climb a 2 story STEEP dangerous metal roof and did so with 0 complaints unlike our other bidder and they did a beautiful job. We had them remove our existing propane gas stove ( touchy over the years and not exactly reliable) to install a wood stove instead! Yes due to materials in todays world it was a fortune but not All Fuels fault. Honestly the install price wasn't as horrendous as we anticipated but we were well queued in on the materials cost which we expected. At least now I have peace of mind that if and when I become a widow that I at least have a reliable heat source now at age 67. We lose power quite often here in the woods. Summary: I paid All Fuel $189 for them to tell me that an unsafe and hazardous fireplace was fine to use. Then because I trusted their word it cost me an extra $100 on my gas bill, and I exposed myself and my dog to a natural gas leak for a month. All Fuel refused to accept responsibility or take any steps to remedy the situation, other than offering to charge me for another house call and additional parts and labor costs. ............ I had All Fuel out to inspect a gas fireplace to make sure it was safe to use, as I heard a strange hissing noise and smelled gas when I turned the gas line to the fireplace on. I communicated these concerns over the phone and with the inspector when he arrived. I paid $189 for a cleaning and inspection. The cleaning was not very thorough, there was still a lot of dust left and the outside was smudged and grimy afterwards (see pictures). I was told that the fireplace was functioning as expected and safe to use, verbally and in the email receipt I received afterwards. I asked the inspector about the continued gas smell and was told it's normal for the fireplace to smell bad for a while after not being used for some time. For about a month I continued working 40 hours per week at my desk a few feet away, and my dog and I continued relaxing in the living room near the fireplace. Then I received my next gas bill and it was over $100 higher than the previous months and the winter months from the previous year. I had only used the fireplace a handful of times so I knew that did not explain the huge jump. I used a gas fireplace as my only source of heat in my prior home and even then it was never even *half* the amount of this bill. I had Northwest Natural out to inspect the fireplace and they informed me that there is a "serious" and "hazardous" leak at the fireplace. They had to shut the gas line off and the fireplace is now blocked off with red tape and a red tag that says WARNING! DO NOT USE. I called All Fuel and was told that since there was no mention of a gas leak in their inspector's notes they were not responsible and would not take any steps to remedy the situation. They said I could pay another $189 house call fee plus unspecified additional parts and labor costs to have them back out to inspect and fix the fireplace. Seems to me like they might avoid documenting issues so that they don't have to accept responsibility. This case in particular seems extremely negligent. The All Fuel inspector said my only payment option was a check, even though their Yelp page says that they accept credit cards, so I don't have any way to dispute the charge or seek reimbursement from my credit card company. I also had to hand over the check before I received the notes from the inspection, so there's no way I could have double checked the notes to make sure the gas leak concern was documented. I'm extremely disappointed with my experience and would not recommend this shady and dishonest company read more

We had an estimate scheduled for All Fuel Installation at our home. We wanted to see about having a screen top placed on the wood burning portion of our dual stack chimney. They recommended that we use a mason to install a terra cotta top piece with screen cover which "would be less expensive and look better" in our particular case since we also have a gas fireplace with its own stack and cover already in place that takes up half of the chimney top. To me this is a clear example of integrity and honesty, and my rating is based upon this impression. read more

First of all, their services are popular in the winter, so plan ahead. But, I will always be loyal to this business after my experience. First, they were understandable and flexible with my own errors on apt dates, which was so my fault. I was afraid to reach out to them to reschedule because I was so at fault. Our fireplace has not been working for two years. We were dreading having it looked at because we knew if we had to replace it it would be very costly. Corey our service Technician quickly figured out that it was a bad switch. He replaced the switch and checked the other connections to make sure everything was ok. Then he cleaned and put it back together. He was so knowledgeable and you could see he takes pride in what he does. I would highly recommend All Fuel to anyone needing to have their fireplace checked. Even though our fireplace is very old we luckily don't have to replace it yet thanks to Corey but when we do need to we will be calling All Fuel. Spectacular customer service, from start to finish. We installed a gas line extension (a surprisingly expensive venture, by the way) and All Fuel was ON TIME for every single part of the 3 day process. Let that sink in for a moment. Yes, it's true and more than once I thought it was too good to be true. But it doesn't end there - the professionals were such pros! Also not a given! They were so courteous, light-hearted, and GOOD. It was fun (hopefully not creepy) to watch them roll up the cloth they used to walk in my house so skillfully - their entire workflow is just a well-oiled machine. Even though it's a non-consecutive 3 day process for a gas line extension because it involves a County permit, Jordan and Sherry knew I was without a stove so accommodated me the same day! Called All-Fuel in December about my gas insert. I told them exactly what I thought was wrong with it after I had done extensive testing and research. They indicated that they have a standard cleaning and troubleshooting appointment for $189 where they should be able to fix it, but the next available was in February. Ouch. My bad for waiting til December I guess. I took the appointment. When the tech came in February he did a perfunctory cleaning and troubleshooting and confirmed exactly what I said was wrong with it. He indicated, however, that he would have to order the parts since he did not have them in his truck. When he got the parts, he would schedule a followup appointment to install them and only charge me for the parts since I already paid for the initial visit. Unfortunately, the next available appointment for installation was in 40 days - the first day of spring. Seriously? That would make it three months from my first call. Well, at least it will be ready for next year. Two days before the installation appointment, All-Fuel calls me to confirm and informs me that in addition to the $300 for parts, I would have to pay $139 for the followup visit. I told them that the tech (who no longer worked for the company) told me that I would only be charged for the parts, since I had already paid for the first visit (which lasted a total of 35 minutes). After much hesitation, Joe, the manager at All-Fuel, agreed to only charge me $90 for the followup visit. Joe then claimed that I had not wanted the tech to install any of the stock he had in his van, so he could not waive the entire followup charge. WTF? Why would I have not wanted the tech to use the stock in his van? Because I wanted to wait 40 more days to use my gas insert? That makes absolutely no sense! The tech specifically told me he did not have the correct parts! I felt totally scammed but I also felt like I did not have a choice. I was worried, however, that if I did have them do the repair, I would not really be able to test it much until the fall since it was almost spring and the cold weather was gone. I asked about All-Fuel's warranty for work they do, Joe indicated that the only warranty available is the vendor's 90-day warranty. If it did not work in the fall, I would incur another service charge to have them look at it. I ended up cancelling the follow-up appointment. Horrible customer service. Insane wait times for an appointment. They do not guarantee their work or honor their promises. Total ripoffs. read more

I love this company !!! Two years ago All Fuel installed my new gas fireplace and did an awesome job. Today they serviced it and once again, did not disappoint !! The tech spent close to two hours here making sure everything was 100 %. I asked him if there was any way to make my flames taller and he moved around some of the glass rock to do so. The experience was great from start to finish. We called All Fuel to upgrade the gas line for a new stove installation after Home depot wasn't able to install a new one until we had the connecting pipe upgraded. All Fuel was able to schedule something within a week. The person I talked to on the phone was very helpful and clear. (A nice change after talking to Home Depot customer service.) They also offered to do the full stove installation for the same price along with upgrading the pipe. I took them up on that so I didn't have to rely on Home Depot. Jacob called and offered to come out a little earlier than the scheduled time and I took him up on that. He was friendly and the communication was good. He worked quickly enough but did not rush, took his time and carefully checked all of the gas hookups in the house for leaks. All Fuel is definitely at the top of our call list for future gas hookup issues at our home and rental houses. read more

Mixed experience here. I got a wood stove installed, very expensive but pretty comparable to everyone else that bidded. It was around $2200 for the installation. I was impressed with the workers that actually put the wood stove in, very professional and fast. They also went over instructions with me on what to expect during the first few uses. However, this company didn't seem to do any research on my specific wood stove brand requirements, or my county regulations. They installed the wood stove as if it were being placed near a combustible material, which it was not. This would have required me to install 14 inches of extra hearth tile, when in fact, all I had to do was look in the instruction manual that the wood stove came with to figure out that it should have been installed according to the non-combustible material dimensions. When I alerted them to their own error, I was told that it would be another couple months to get me back on the schedule, and that I would have to pay for the workers to come back out again and correct the problem. Why on earth should I have to wait, and pay, for something that they didn't do correctly in the first place? After I was told that, I decided to work with my county inspector directly and no longer go through this company. My county inspector confirmed that this company installed the wood stove using incorrect dimensions. I was able to dismantle, move the wood stove, and reassemble it myself to the correct dimensions (which only ended up requiring me to install an extra 3 inches of hearth tile, instead of the 14 this company quoted. Sadly though, I had already bought all of the materials for the 14 inches). Anyways, I passed the inspection. I was not very impressed with this company, and for the amount that I paid, the installation should have been done correctly. Or at the very least, they should have fixed their mistake free of charge. I shouldn't have had to finish the job myself. read more

I called this company because our gas fireplace valve seemed to be a little loose and we were worried about it not shutting off completely. The office ladies that I spoke with were very pleasant. They had an "estimator" send me an e-mail asking for a picture. I sent a picture of the valve (which seemed sort of odd) and he then asked me to send him a picture of the wall. I had explained to the ladies in the office that this was a gas insert in a normal fireplace.....can't imagine why he wanted a picture of the wall. I sent the picture of the wall anyway and he sent me a quote of $520.00. Is this guy lazy??? I said thank you and contacted another company who came to the house, checked the gas line completely, told us to use a longer key to open the valve and charged us $94.00. Good install experience, very professional 2 man team. Problem with receiving incorrect payment options info from sales rep so installers have to callback to the office to get me the "cash" discount, embarrassing and stressful. Then same sales rep misscheduled the building permit inspection on the wrong day so I waited all day on my day off when the inspection was scheduled from the beginning on the next day. Sales rep lied and said county changed it, county says it was only scheduled once, never changed, for the day after what the rep told me. A whole day wasted and now I have to take a second day off to get the inspection. Very poor customer service. read more
