The restaurant ambiance is mainly for take out. Only 2 tables inside with 2 chairs each, which seem more for waiting for your order, instead of eating there. Thick plastic windowing covers the counter with a cutout for paying the bill. The lady behind the plastic takes care of you with a smile and seems very nice. Not much conversation. However, you are there for the food, which is out of this world tasty, flavorful, and deliciously authentic! El Paso does have a great Chinese restaurant in town! We ordered the "Happy Family" and the "Triple Hunan" and Spring Rolls. All were cooked perfectly, very flavorful, and enormous portion (2 people can easily share one order) in each dish, and the fried rice was excellent, as well! Sadly the food didn't last for pictures it was that good! We got the sesame chicken, shrimp lo mein, and orange chicken! Very nice spot, they cook your food fresh to order! Everything was packaged so nicely couldn't stop drooling at how good it smelled! Very good portions and they come with pork egg rolls! Delish. The lady that helped us at the front was very nice and lovely, I believe it was her and the husband if I'm not mistaken, but they seemed like the owners, just the two of them running this lovely place together :) . It was busy, I called my order in ahead of time but it still took forever. It's one of those hole in the wall places I thought was gonna be fire. But it fell way short. The yellow fried rice reminded me of Chinese food in the military so I was excited but the crab rangoons were horrible. The sesame chicken was average. The highlight was probably the egg roll. So I wanted to go to my fave Chinese place but it was closed for Covid? So I went here... which was nearby ....& it got ok reviews ...I personally didn't like the food much. This is a TOGO place only due to Covid. You order inside and go wait in your car for how long they tell you. The egg drop soup was the best thing I ate. It was nice and velvety, golden, and I asked for scallions on top and they obliged. But I got the triple crown- beef, chicken and shrimp with veggies in a brown sauce... it needed help ... I added pepper and soy sauce to it . It was bland. And very watery. Also it lacks veggies. It was just some broccoli, a 3-4 2inch long slices of carrot and about the same of bamboo shoots and some tiny chunks of baby corn. It needed some onion and celery, maybe some bok Choy or cabbage. And the sauce definitely needed thickening. It was as if it had been on a steam table all day and had broken down. I ordered fried rice with it but they sent some kind of really sticky white rice... it was not good with the meal. I also ordered 4 fried chicken wings. They looked nice and were full sized wings but had this weird wang to them, like the meat had started to turn? I only ate 1 and a bite of another to see if it was just one wing but both tasted the same ... I got them plain. Perhaps if I had them doused in a sauce option they offer I might not have noticed the weird taste... but since I had them plain it was pronounced. The meats in my dish appeared to have been dredged In some flour or something, cuz there was this thick coating on them, especially the shrimp. I didn't really like that either. The broccoli and other veggies were cooked well, not mushy or crunchy. I got a roasted pork egg roll as well but really could see or taste no pork and certainly no roasted flavor. Sorry to be a downer but if you like this place good for you, but it just didn't satisfy my Chinese food fix. We felt like Chinese one night and of course I used yelp to look at reviews. This one had high reviews and was close to our hotel. A nice lady answered the phone when we got takeout and I got the broccoli and beef with fried rice, my daughter got the lo mein noodles, my wife got the potstickers and the Hot and sour soup. Initially I was not a fan of the fried rice but it grew on me. The broccoli and beef were good. My daughter loved her lo mein. The potstickers were also great but the hot and sour soup was not our favorite. Overall a fairly good place. It is take out only as they have no table set up. When I arrive to pick up my food I couldn't understand the lady that well because of the multi layers of plexiglass and the masks plus the language barrier a little bit. I could tell she was frustrated as hell but I laughed about it in the end. It seems like a nice family running this restaurant. You do get a lot of food, so prepare for that and we probably would've shared a dish if we were to do this again. Prices were great as well. read more

I love this place. Amazing vegetarian selection, with several bean curd options, some breaded and fried, some not. Our family's favorite order is Szechuan bean curd, General Tso's bean curd with fried rice and then a side of vegetable lo mein. The lo mein reheats so well with all the leftover veggies and tofu and it ends up being 3 meals for my son and I. Great deal. I have this restaurant 3 stars. I ordered the fried chicken wings (4), shrimp fried rice, peppered steak with onion, and beef egg rolls. The food was cooked to order so it came out hot and I received everything I ordered but the shrimp fried rice. I guess she didn't hear me order the small intercom you have to talk to in order for them to take your order. The food was good. The peppered steak and onion surprisingly has green peppers and was seasoned and sauced well. The fried rice was cooked well enough for me to enjoy and the wings were not fried too hard. I received my food 20 minutes before they closed so I tipped them extra because I only saw one person cooking and the other taking orders. I recommend eating here if you order take out. The ambiance needed some work. My total came to $25.06 note including tip. I think the food wasn't overpriced given the economic state we are currently in. I may not be an expert in Chinese food, but I certainly know what I like. China 1 is my go-to place for take-out Kung Pao Chicken. The menu lists it as Kung Po, if I remember correctly. The food stays warm long. In my experience, you get plenty of food for a very reasonable price. You can expect leftovers and the fried rice is great. The food was delicious and fresh, no complaints at all plus it was still hot when we arrived home. We also tried the egg rolls and sweet and sour soup.
