We ordered through Uber Eats, spring rolls, Spicy Garlic Sauce Shrimp and Tofu Family Style, all with side of steamed rice. The spring rolls were phenomenal, extra crunchy on the outside and steaming on the inside. The Spicy Garlic was good, the shrimp was enormous, but there were HUGE chunks of jalapeño. I'm a fan of spicy and jalapeño but this was a little much, and not the spice I'd expect to be predominant in Chinese food. Tender, white meat. A brown slightly tangy brown sauce. My shrimp and assorted veggies though, that was the highlight. Such a nice flavorful clear-ish sauce? Not giant smack of garlic, but maybe it was a garlic wine sauce. Shrimp, broccolis bamboo shoots, snap peas, water chestnuts nuts, mushrooms, onions, celery, carrots, WOW. It was so SO GOOD. Bad service the lady waiter was in bad mood when I entered. I had to ask a few times for clarification about the menu and she was really short with me. I'm not from the area and I didn't understand the menu. I was going to get charged double for substituting rice for noodles on one of my plates but not get the rice. But it's the same price to just buy the noodles as a side. It doesn't make any sense. And instead her attitude grew. And walked away smacking her lips. I wanted Chinese food so I looked at the reviews for Red Wok and decided to try them even though it's a bit of a drive for me. It was worth it! Clean, friendly restaurant and excellent service for take out. My order was perfectly packed up and made the journey home without incident. It was still hot and very tasty. The Red Wok war wonton soup is delicious with fresh broccoli and carrots that were still crisp! The spring rolls were very nice and actually loaded with vegetables not just onion. The sweet and sour chicken and lemon chicken were also delicious and not greasy. I've gotten takeout 3 times now and it's my new place for Chinese food! My only concern is that the sweet and sour and lemon sauce tasted off. I suspect it's coming out of a jar and not homemade but hey, it's really good otherwise! read more

The Singapore noodles had a doughy consistency and didn't appreciate much chicken/meat in it. Unfortunately, the flavor profile was very poor. The chicken fried rice was very bland and no great flavor to it; it basically tasted like rice and chicken, nothing special. General Tso chicken was decently flavored; it was not too oily or had too much breading. Complemented the bland fried rice well and the well cooked meat. Since moved to El Paso in October 2020, we have been in search of the Perfect Chinese Food business. Well we did it, we found our Perfect place and that place is Red Wok. It was on Thanksgiving when we found out about Red Wok. We called several Chinese places, which usually are open on Thanksgiving but they were not... Red Wok was OPEN! I wanted to give Red Wok 5 Stars but could only give 4 Stars simply for the restrictive menu. In New England, where we are from originally, Chinese Food is not just a business, it's an Art and a Profession. They do not have the Teriyaki Steak Skewers, or BBQ Spareribs, or Chicken Egg Rolls, or Bread Rolls. They have everything else that anyone could want. I hope they add these items to the menu. If you live on the West Side of El Paso and you need Damn Good Chinese Food. And no one else can help (because they have no Pride in the Art of Chinese Food). Despite some mixed reviews, I wanted something different, so decided to pop in this evening. I always judge a Chinese restaurant on their Hot and Sour soup. Red Wok's small version is about $1 more than the typical "cup" at most restaurants, but also a generously larger portion. The spicing and consistency was very good, but surprisingly rich in pork flavor. Apparently they cook some pork in the broth. Unexpected, but tasty. My server suggested Mio Goo Gai Pan (never my first "go to", but does show flavor balance on delicate dishes and the knife skills of the kitchen staff.) so I asked for it to be a bit spicier. The serving size is HUGE with copious fresh vegetables. (carrots, broccoli, snow peas, water chestnut, mushrooms, baby corn and bamboo shoots!) If I had been using chopsticks, almost every piece was well-sized. I would have appreciated the broccoli stems being discarded or quartered and sliced diagonally, but that's no big deal. After enduring poorly prepped veggies, ubiquitous brown sauce on everything, dishes that bear NO resemblance to their names, and less prominence of veggies at some other restaurants, Red Wok is a refreshing change. Of course, now I have to come back and try the Hunan, Szechuan, Kung Pao and Mongolian versions to see how they compare. Good food and plenty if it. My wife had the Lemon Chicken and I got walnut shrimp. As usual we share. Both entrees were amazingly good. The Lemon chicken was the best I have had in years.Both came with fried (or steamed) rice. We added egg drop soup and spring rolls. Our "medium" soup was enormous. The greatness in the details: -They put the S&S sauce on the side so the chicken didn't get too soggy. -Spring rolls were very crunchy -All the food was fresh and hot! Only reason I'd say it wasn't a 5 star is because the fried rice was dry and the meat (couldn't tell if it was chicken or pork) was not very tasty. It's usually tough to find decent tasting take-out but we are pleased with the food from Red Wok. When we showed up after ordering we saw a lot of foot traffic and that's a good indicator of good food. We got the General Tso chicken and the Dbl cooked pork. Decided to come here because our other Chinese spot was closed. First time being there and you seat yourself which was nice. There was only two other people eating but seems like they have a couple regulars. We got the fried chicken, Coconut shrimp, and Almond chicken. The fried chicken was a 10 piece for $10 and were really meaty and similar to Korean fried chicken if you tried it. Tastes good with the Siracha chili they had.
