We arrived close to closing and were warmly welcomed by the friendliest and funny gentleman, which already made us feel at home. The place is simple and a bit old-school, but clean and well kept. I had the Shrimp Egg Fu Young and my cousin ordered the Chicken with Black Bean Sauce--both were freshly made, flavorful, and super filling. Portions were generous enough that we had leftovers for the next day! Nothing fancy, just really good, classic Chinese food and a nice break from all the Southern dishes in the area. Now that I've been, I have to say it tasted authentic to me, at least based on the food my table had. Crab fried rice was delicious. They gave generous portions of meat in all of the meat dishes. The crispy duck was actually crispy. The food was well seasoned and not too salty. I think they actually do make their Thai tea because my tea was in 2 layers when it was brought out (tea at the bottom and milk at the top) and I mixed it myself. Though the restaurant was busy, the servers did their best to attend to you and came back to refill waters. The place was clean. Sufficient parking. Unfortunately, we didn't try the tum yum, which is honestly the bar I judge every Thai restaurant by (I want to taste that galangal and kaffir leaf), next time. Took pictures after we chowed down this time. I do need to warn that their medium spicy level is actually spicy, which I enjoyed, but others may not. Both items I've had the coconut soup. A def favorite. Mildly spicy but with a great flare with mushrooms, cilantro and small pieces of chicken. Massaman curry last week that really was so impressed had to return. Failed to get pick but will try again.. This week has garlic sauce with chicken. The attention to the sauces is wonderful here. Vegetables were cooked while retaining a good texture and crunch. Give them a try when possible.
