They had a decent amount of options for food and desserts, and everything seemed pretty fresh. There were one or two things that weren't our favorite, but generally any one of the many chicken dishes were pretty good. And they had a decent amount of options for veggies, and some seafood. At first, when I was absolutely starving, everything tasted great. And then it just did not suddenly the consistency and a piece of dark meat that was fried was in my mouth and had a spit it out cause it tasted bad rancid. Service is impeccable. Been coming here with my family for as long as I can remember. We've frequented here so often, the staff knows exactly what we get to drink and even knows us on a first-name basis. The food is good, the servers are friendly and serve us with smiles on their faces. The overall ambiance is calming after a busy day doing what we need to do. Got the chicken egg Foo young and chicken fried rice along with crab Rangoon. Food is mediocre at best. The staff never smile and never thank you for your business. Maybe it's their culture. I would think that they could at least put on an act and pretend that they are happy for your business. It's been the same each time that I've been there. We were cold and tired after skiing at Boyne Highlands. We were looking forward to some hot food. On a whim I suggested we try the Chinese place. We walked in, sat down and asked for hot tea. A teapot of Oolong tea arrived. Drink refills are free. We went up to the buffet. Lots of choices, including fabulous green beans, shrimp, chicken, beef, a few noodle dishes, pot stickers, peanut chicken, hot and sour soup, egg drop soup, etc. A few dishes were a little too salty, the egg drop soup needed salt added. But the food was basically good, and the buffet is a great way to sample a lot of different flavors. The wait staff were all Chinese. There was at least one family dining that seemed to be Chinese. The buffet was $19.90 for the two of us. Tea was 60 cents per person. Our dinner, with tax but without the tip, came to less than $24. When we went to the register to pay, a family was getting takeout by-the-pound. Hubby said he would not mind coming back, and I would not turn down the chance, either. read more

I've eaten here many times. The food is decent, although a smaller selection. The proteins offered at clearly bottom of the pile in quality, but the flavors are good. The biggest drawback for me is the lack of upkeep. It's the only Chinese place like it around, and they afford to reasonably pay staff - however the store and it's surroundings are in near shambles. The food was great but their noodles were a bit dry, their was film on their egg drop soup so I felt disgusted to even try it & their ice cream was a bit grainy. My four year old who loves ice cream wouldn't even eat it. Went there "Prime-Time" Saturday night and honestly you couldn't ask anymore out a buffet. Hot dishes and lots of them. Each time you turned around you saw more rows of food. I've been here many times over the years. The staff for the most part are very attentive and friendly. They do a good job keeping your tea or water full and clear your plates when you make trips to the buffet. Its cheap Chinese food at its finest. If you're in the area and you crave Chinese food then this place gives you the best bang for your buck. Our family of four can eat here and leave a 20 percent tip for under Thirty dollars. Not bad at all. I love their India Chicken, and my girlfriend enjoys their salt in pepper shrimp. My oldest boy enjoys the green beans, broccoli, and friend rice, also gets a kick out of picking out his own sweets (Jello, pudding, cookies ect...) youngest son loves to taste and try everything. I've avoided this place for years because we are not big buffet fans. Recently stopped here for takeout, though, after a stressful doctor's appointment and just wanted to get home and not go out again. My surprise: this place had decent Americanized Chinese and a quite a few other choices. The food was hot, buffet dishes were being replaced as they got low, and every staff member said something pleasant or offered to help as I made my way around the buffet tables with two big styrofoam containers. (There is also an extensive menu which you can order from, and I got the feeling it would be cooked to order - at least most of it.) What sealed the deal and will make me a return customer was the bill. It was 1/2 what we would pay for dinner from our local Harbor Springs Chinese carryout. You load your container(s). They weigh it, and you are charged on a price per pound basis. I may try ordering ahead ala carte next time to give it a true comparison. read more
