Visiting the day before Fathers day so we decided to go to Jade Buffet. Five of us. No seating for 5 unless you make a reservation in advance. Even if no one is using the larger table nor if there are any reservations. So we were expected to sit at two table and how do you communicate with our family at another table? They told us we couldn't put the table right next to the booth to sit together. Pretty much ruined it until we decided to add one person to the booth and then a chair at the end of the booth. So since we wouldn't have room for used dishes we just put them on the original added table to our family. They seemed upset with us for doing that. Like we made extra work for them. We needed the room for added plates so we had to do something with the dishes. I will say the food was very good, prices was very good. But I will not return if we have more than 4 people again unless someone makes reservations there. Hostess was rude and thoughtless for not trying to help us out. Then another family came in with the same situation with 5 people. She did the same thing with them. Not many people there then and they can't try to help out with the seating? Upon reading some of the reviews of this place, we were kind of skeptical but decided to give this place a go anyways. My Dad swears this is the best buffet, and he is absolutely right [as per usual]. We arrived around 2pm and spent a good hour here. For two of us it was 33 dollars, that included one fountain drink and a tip of more than 20%. The food was fresh, hot & steaming, deliciousness in every bite! The buffet was very well tended too. Workers did a fantastic job. The ambiance was clean usual buffet style setting. We will definitely be back again! This place is a 100/10. Definitely blows China King out of the water! In the city for a baby shower and didn't want to go to a restaurant that's in my city. So I checked reviews and nothing said anything bad about the food. So me and my friends came in expecting really crappy service from wait staff and I really don't understand what any of the negative reviews on here are for because the staff was absolutely polite and very fast in refilling drinks. My wife and I have eaten there a half dozen times and its always good. The place is always clean and they keep the food filled.

Big fans of the buffet...even though I'm usually an anti-buffet guy. The thought of a bunch of strangers jamming away in the food I'm about to eat. I stuck it up and taste everything. We managed to make it in time for the lunch version and saved three dollars, each, over the dinner price. I'm guessing they display more of the sophisticated dishes at night. I noticed a nice breaded shrimp butterfly as we were finishing up. It all tasted great and, as you can imagine, the wait staff didn't say much. But, they were attentive and accommodating. Me and my brother was there yesterday for lunch, all the food was very good but when we got home my stomach started to hurt and twisted and then all of a sudden I started throwing up, and then half hour later my brother started throwing up, we think it's the Crab that gave us food poisoning. We've gotten carry out 4 times . So, this review is only for carry out only , not the buffet . We've tried 5 different meals.Each has been very good . Moo Goo gai pan (sp ?) was the only one that was bland . HBut , it's usually at other restaurants usually , too. The "combination " meals are a nice size portion , rice & an egg roll for (most) under $13.00. Egg rolls are good .My favorite so far , is the curry , so far . Food was good. Hostess (who was apparently the manager) VERY RUDE!!! Our daughter is in a wheelchair and we needed barrier free seating. She stuck us in the corner and REFUSED to move a stack of highchairs. The restaurant was not very full, but she said there was no where else to put them. Jade buffet is amazing. I have only patronized them so far as a take out option. They get our order correct every single time. The portions are very generous and the containers they use are high quality and microwave safe, so can be reused for oh-so-elegant redneck Tupperware! On top of all this, the food is delicious. First visit. Went at 7pm on a Saturday and they close at 9:30. Many empty tables. Dated but still nicely decorated. Food was flavorful. All the meats, soups, dessert were good. Rice and lo mein were room temperature. They came around and picked up our dirty plates quickly. However, poor service and the atmosphere the poor service created were more than sub par. There were staff full blown sweeping where the food was and in the dining area. They weren't picking up large debris. They were vigorously sweeping and in the dining area there's carpet. This was unnecessary and unsanitary. Another staff person was refilling soy bottles and sugar packets and kept interrupting us to help her reach across and give them ours for her to refill, which we didn't ask for or need. One lady slammed the receipt down on our table after we were there for 30 minutes or so. Price was ~ $15.75 per person without a drink. While the food was good and restrooms were clean, I cannot recommend this location due to the awful service and terrible vibes from the staff on this visit. Also, their "do not waste food" sign is not appropriate. There are some foods that may not be seasoned or flavored to someone's liking so the fact that they don't eat it is justified and not wasting food. They need to do better and hopefully they do better for future guests. read more

Back when it was "Kung Fu Jimmys" it was nothing but GARBAGE... they never kept the food trays filled, the food was cold and tasted NASTY!!! Today we had to come up from Kio to the VA C-pap clinic. On our way to Walmart we saw that it had changed names, so we asked several people at the Walmart in the same complex about it, all the people we talked too gave it a thumbs up. So we decided to give it a try for the lunch buffet. Now that it has changed hands/bought out, and is now called "Jade Buffet" it's pretty good. I am an avid chinese buffet enjoyer. Let me just say, this is definitely one of the better ones around here. Typically when I find a bunch of old people flocking to a chinese restaurant I get nervous. Well to my surprise it was pretty good! Food was good, all of it was very hot which is something I find other places tend to struggle with. Who on earth wants room temperature general tsos? The food is pretty good. What is disturbing is the sanitary habits. When this was the China One Buffet, I was in the restroom. A cook was in taking a crap. He finished and left while I was still at the urinal. He didn't wash his hands. What does this have to do with Jade? Possibly nothing, unless they brought back some of the same crew. Today I went in to wash up before eating. A kitchen worker was finishing up at the urinal. Again, just left without washing his hands. Yuck! And he wore his apron the whole tme. Visited last night for the first time after recently moving to Gaylord from the Fort Worth / Dallas area. I'm not a fan of Oriental food, but the wife and kiddo love it. Came here for a takeout dinner on their buffet on a Wednesday night. Lots of options, all very hot and delicious. Better than Petoskey's China King. The eggrolls and dumplings are very good--they are stuffed with chicken and egg, I think. Everything was fresh and I paid about $7-8 per lb for dinner.
