All I can say is wow, everyone at my table cleared their plates. The Pork chop was done to perfection with garlic mashed potatoes. Next time there ask for Randy, this guy will entertain you if you listen very carefully. Beautiful place and plenty of space to make my wife's birthday dinner special.

Everything was good! The meal, the service and dessert to die for! When you don't have anything left on your plate, you know it was good! Vincent was an awesome server! Highly recommend!!!

This upscale steakhouse is located right across from where we're spending the night in Indian River. From the moment you step into the restaurant, you're greeted with a warm welcome from both the host and the server, and that's grade A quality service! Other than great service, the food was fantastic, especially sharing three tavern menu items - the Tavern burger, the barbecue mac & cheese, and the brussels sprouts! The brussels sprouts were drizzled with a perfect blend of aioli, and compared to other restaurants across the state who serve brussels sprouts as an appetizer, it is the best up north! The burger split between my mother and I were served on two separate plates. How convenient! I also have to mention the bbq macaroni and cheese tasting extremely delicious from the first bite! Then, topping it all off, the four-layer chocolate cake was quite a remarkable exclamation point to a great dinner! Be sure to check out this steakhouse for a romantic and upscale option, just off the beaten path from I-75!

Well it's been about 1 year since our last visit, & not only did we order the same meals as last year, but we were fortunate enough to have our same server Virginia. She is one of the rare people in the business that takes it to the level of professionalism as she does with grace. The Shrimp Cocktail is the best in northern Michigan, if not all of Michigan. It comes from Bangladesh. Place is meticulously kept with a great warm vibe throughout the large facility.

We didn't take photos of the food because I wasn't expecting to write a review (I'm connected to an old account and can't access my latest). Anyway, great, fresh and delicious food. My husband had the Reuben with fries. I had the cod basket and added the onion rings. It was all so delicious! Our server was very friendly and helpful with the menu and about local activities. I had to try their famous Bloody Mary, and my goodness -- it was FABULOUS! It was the only thing I had to photograph because it was insanely beautiful and tasty. The environment is a comfortable open table plan with a full bar area. They're prepping to repaint the front dining room, but it didn't interfere with the dining experience. The bathroom was extremely clean, and the staff were clearly focused on keeping tables clean. It was impressive overall! We will definitely return in the future while traveling in upper Michigan!!

The main issue was that we were really hungry, having spent hours waiting on auto repair. The brisket tacos did not satisfy but to alleviate hunger. The flour tortillas were what my sister called 'raw'. They were not heated at all. The brisket meat was lukewarm warm. The cabbage slaw was raw. There was a dab of chunky plastic jar salsa already placed in the middle of each taco. Chips and salsa: the salsa was in a very small plastic thimble. We couldn't even fit a chip into the salsa. The best part about our dinner: the server asked if everything was good. I told her that it was definitely not my favorite EVER. The wonderful thing about this was that she asked me to explain. She did not show an animosity and was truly inquisitive about our dislike of the food. She said that she would tell 'him'. I am assuming that 'he' would be the cook. I appreciated her concern because the bill was about $40 and when my sister can't finish her meal that's a problem. It was about 430 and I hadn't eaten all day so I did finish mine but I couldn't say that I was not pleased with it. Although nothing was spoiled and it certainly could've been worse. I don't know if I could trust going back. I think that they could do a real light marinade on the cabbage to soften it a bit and if they fried the tortillas and maybe offered corn or tortilla in the beginning, it would be an improvement. Or how about if the salsa so called and in such a tiny vessel, it wasn't tasteless but clearly store-bought. Any restaurant should be able to do something with this information. I don't mean to be negative or demeaning, but I do intend to given an honest review based on my impression. Good luck Breakers. I was actually very happy to see that something was open during this flooding season. Unfortunately, I would've driven 50 miles further to have a better dinner.

I was very excited to try the restaurant at dinnertime and I was not disappointed. The dining room has maybe 15 tables. Its an attractive room, but dark. You do not come here for the view. While I loathe the term, the best description for the dining room is shabby chic. The menu features an assortment of special cocktails, 4 or 5 appetizers, and 6 or 7 entrees. I am always wary of places with menus that go on page after page. So I was okay with the smaller menu. They have a full bar. At my table we ordered a shrimp appetizer, that was paired with burrata, watermelon and corn. It looked beautiful and the burrata--hard to find up here--was great. We also had the crab cake appetizer which was also served with corn. It was great, with lots of crab. For entrees, I had the duck with a tasty Asian BBQ sauce. The duck breast was cooked just the way I liked it. While duck is not a rarity in the north woods, the pairing with the lighter Asian sauce was a nice touch. Also at the table was a rack of lamb. Frankly, that is what I hope to have next time. I stole a chop and it was out of this world. Tender and well flavored. Seriously, it was some of the finest lamb i have ever had, I only got to steal one chop. For dessert we had a chocolate delice, which was a frozen combination of chocolate and almond cookie. It was also great. I thought the prices were very cheap for fine dining up north. Put this restaurant in downtown Petoskey and each of the entrees would have been ten dollars more--at least. They do take reservations. It really filled up when we were there. I highly recommend you give this joint a try. I also recommend that you park on the side. Backing out onto 31 is not that fun.
