Did I ever think I would eat a a place called China Buffet and think I would write a four star review? My friends told me that the truck drivers love this place and has good food and I was impressed that they were correct. Let's call this an Americanized Chinese buffet so don't expect authentic food. They had a variety of the staples like General Tso's, noodle dishes, plus desserts. The buffet had three separate stations so it is rather big. My only disappointment was that they didn't have any soup or dishes with wontons; however, everything else was good. They even had a small section of sushi which I didn't try. read more

Best to get there at start of lunch and dinner. 2-3 hours after start food won't be as fresh or hot Born and raised in Chicago suburbs. There is a difference between here and there. Egg foo young tastes a little bland here maybe it the no msg In regards to egg rolls the hot mustard is almost like dejouin mustard. In Chicago you use it sparingly and if you don't it will take your breath away open your sinuses and your eyes will start tearing. I asked if they have anything like that and they said no they could get it but Wisconsin people don't like it so they don't order it anymore. Carpet and furniture is a little worse for ware but that don't bother me. Tried other Chinese restaurants in 30 mile radius this is the best so far. I'm told Madison Milwaukee and lacrosse are better but I don't want to drive 75-100 miles for Chinese food. Note order take out. Quality is much better Than buffet read more

On my way from Chicago to NW Minnesota. Stopped at this restaurant after seeing their billboard along I-90. Surprisingly, the food was good for a buffet. Many selections of chicken and hunan beef. The only chinese buffet where I don't see pork in the buffet. Definitely one of good buffet. The lunch during the holiday (probably considered as dinner) is $14.99. read more

They have parking available for trucks which is great and accessible. Lots of food options and great desserts. The servers were very nice and made sure our table and drinks stayed clean and full. Been here several times and the food and service is usually very good. I find that If I stop at off peak times, between normal meal times, the food on the buffet seems to sit and not be as good as when the restaurant is busy.. they serve Pepsi products and a pretty good selection of beers. read more

As soon as I walked in, the host ordered me into the bathroom to wash my hands before he would seat me. Unnecessary, as I had washed them at the gas station next door literally seconds before I entered. But I obliged. Upon exiting the bathroom, a new host asked me to wash my hands before she could seat me. I refused, saying I already had. They wanted me to wash my hands after every plate I ate, before I got a new plate, which I refused. If the place is so filthy that touching their plates and serving utensils and eating there makes my hands dirty, maybe they should stay closed. As I was waiting to pay, a man came in. The same host didnt order him into the bathroom to wash his hands before he seated him. He just took him to a table. So this place discriminates against women eating there alone. You will be all but called dirty the whole time you are there eating their mediocre food. Food was mediocre. I was there as soon as they opened on Sunday, so you'd think they'd really put out the best, but no. The vegetables in the cold salads were visibly rotten, and had a rotten produce taste. The bourbon chicken was mostly burned, and disgustingly inedible. I don't eat desserts, so I dont know how those were. Lots of fried foods too, and fake sushi. Waste of a lot of money. read more

We were in Town for a drs. app't the food was never great but we decided to give it another try well bad choice I ordered sweet&sour chicken very dry and some I couldn't even eat my husband ordered hot&spicy shrimp very bland we had everything to go I also ordered egg foo young well when the guy packed it in a paper bag he put one of the sauces on the bottom and you guessed it it squeezed out of the paper coated little cup and was all over the bottom of the bag and also the food needless to say we won't be back no more chances.. read more

We come here every few months for a break from traditional restaurant food. That and my wife loves chinese! I like it, ocassionally. The food is predictable with no surprises. Once you have eaten here, that pretty much is it. ALL of the staff is Chinese and they speak often amongst themselves! You really know you are in a Chinese restaurant! The service is very fast and folks are constantly roaming the floor to pick up dishes, TO A FAULT, from tables, almost as fast as you move them to the end! Makes a person feel rushed. It is always clean here and staff helpful. Only negative and thus the three stars, none of the food is ever hot. Luke warm at best. That is a bummer for me because i like my food HOT! Plenty of parking and handicap accessable. This building used to house a country kitchen and has never been remodeled. The booths are tight and the seats have long ago lost any padding! I just ate here today for about the third time in 6 months. I never ate here in 2013 when those bad reviews were given, but if it was bad then I think they've come a long ways. They have some really spicy soup (Most places just barely spice it up so whips won't throw a fit). I thought the buffet had a great wide variety of dishes. I've eaten here during the week at lunch hour when there's a good selection, but not as much higher value dishes as on the weekend. Our favorite place for a celebratory meal or to start a difficult day with a great breakfast. Lady Wife and I have been recommending China Buffet since before they relocated from a harder-to-find, smaller place. A world-traveling epicure may have things to complain of, but we practical folk are glad of the best Chinese cuisine within an hour's drive or more. That includes Baraboo, the Dells, ... We see truck drivers there besides local folks. As folk musicians we are biased away from loud music, grateful for the restorative atmosphere and super-friendly wait staff. Our expectations, educated in Chicago's Chinatown restaurants and New York, give us no regrets for moving away. read more

Stopped here on way to international falls, MN from Rochester, NY about 3 weeks ago. After being on the road for about 14 hours we wanted something quick to eat.
