Quickly becoming one of my favs when I'm in Tomah. Service is great and food is terrific. Hit and sour soup is on point . Highly recommend.

Good food and good service in downtown Tomah. Not a lot of choices around here, but this is a good option. It's pretty inexpensive for the quality of the food there.

I haven't been to the Peking Restaurant in years. I was craving it so bad. We went to visit my hometown Tomah from the twin cities, and this is by far still my favorite Chinese place to eat at. The staff is all friendly, and all of the food is amazing. The last time I visited was before the renovation. The inside and back area are absolutely beautiful! We ordered the general tso chicken, orange chicken, and Hong Kong chicken. It included broccoli, soup, and steamed rice. We also ordered the crab rangoon and dumplings. They both were so good. I have nothing, but love for this small town favorite.

The food was excellent. The service was very pleasant and attentive. Broccoli in Carlos sauce was 10/10 for me. Friend had General Tso's chicken that was also delicious. This is a little gem in a little downtown area with a small-town feel. I will definitely be back.

Ambiance was awesome. My first sit down Chinese restaurant and they did great. The service was great and the food came out fast and delicious. I got a whole spread of food for $20. I got the Peking special dinner (see pics below). Everything was delicious. I cannot stress that enough. Definitely your go-to Chinese in Tomah. The chili oil was $1 extra and they gave me the whole pot lol. Love it.

Whats up with those bear and panda dumplings? Are they good? What flavor are they?

They are called dimsum. They are all made of something different. I remember one of the staff told me the dog was sweet potato, I don't remember the others though. They are more of a dessert type food, but they taste pretty good. However if your eat…

I hate posting a negative reviews of a small local business, but we were disappointed. No we aren't looking for discounts free food etc or anything. In fact I hope it was just a bad day for them. We ordered: General Tsos chicken Orange chicken Pot stickers and spring rolls. 45$ is pricey for 2 mains and 2 apps but my husband figured they might be good. Sometimes the food is worth the $. The General Tsos chicken had no flavour really beyond over cooked soy. No spice either. The orange chicken tasted borderline exactly like the General Tsos chicken. Lots of soy. The barest hint of orange and no spice. My spring rolls had an overpowering cooking oil flavour and the pot stickers had no water chestnuts, no ginger, no scallions or garlic. Just ground meat. I am giving the restaurant a maybe on reccomendations because perhaps the chef was off...maybe it was just a bad day. I hope they continue serving their loyal clients but sadly we will take a pass on ordering from here again. It's just too expensive to test drive a 2nd time for us.

First thing to know. They only do take out business. Used to be a large sit down restaurant but…read moreowner said he can't get a steady workforce in Winona MN. He will never have eat in service. So as far as the food goes I had hot and sour soup. It was spicy but mostly broth. Not a hardy soup as you find in many Chinese restaurants. I'd pass. Also had the Kung Pao chicken. Very tasty. And portion was large enough to feed two people easily. Bill was $20. No fortune cookie and woman at the counter not welcoming. As far as Chinese restaurants are concerned Kung Pao was a quality dish.

The cook was Asian, so that was kinda good! But, overheard a patron inquire about origin, and he stated Malaysia. So, I ordered wonton soup two times, combo fried noodles, beef , pork, chicken and shrimp, hot tea and 4 egg rolls. I have to say, the dining room help... she was kinda " cold". Our food came and our order of Winton soup, was a cup with three pieces wonton! Holy smokes! Guess it's a region thing! The egg rolls were actually really good, after the four, I ordered three more LOL! Noodles were good, had taste and no complaints! I was surprised! They did have Chinese hot mustard! We were the solo people in dining room for a while, then a family of four and an elderly couple sat in. My child (5yrs old) had a infatuation with a gum ball machine, centered near entrance and near this elderly couple, who was dining a few feet from us. The older gent, either didn't like little kids, or because we looked different in their hood! Either way, his rudeness was felt in the sir, we paid and we left. They probably would had gotten a better review, but the hostess, was more bothered with us dining there, then doing her job, and seeing to it that we were served accordingly. I don't plan to be in Winona again, or anytime soon! I heard that's where Winona Ryder was raised? I'd like to think, not all country folks aren't as the ones who made my visit, kind of uneasy feeling
