HuHot is very basic, yet I enjoy assembling my own meal. We went for dinner which has broader offerings, but it's still the same frozen/shaved slices of meat which get you attention the first time you go to one of these places. You take a bowl (some people use two as it's technically unlimited) , fill it with some protein (beef, pork, and/or chicken), add veggies if you want, and then pour in some sauces either using one of their recipes or just get creative. You can also add noodles and they have a self-service white rice section. You hand over your bowl to one of the cooks who work their magic. If you haven't been here before, a bowl of meat shrinks to about a cup so don't be shy (or you can go back for more). Some of the sauces are spicy (they are labeled how hot each is) so be careful with this too. And even though it's kind of like a buffet tip your services (and/or the cooks separately using their cash tip jar in line) as they are really sweat in it up cooking your dinner. read more

We went here for dinner while celebrating New Year's. Even though the place was very busy, they found us a table quickly, which was great. We chose the "create your own" bowl option with noodles or rice. To order, you pick a bowl, add veggies, choose noodles or rice, select a sauce, and then take it to the cooking station. The line was long, but a nice surprise was that you can make as many bowls as you want at no extra cost - something I hadn't seen before. However, I didn't like that my veggies weren't cooked enough and tasted a bit raw. The sauce I picked was also a bit bland for my liking. We ordered a couple of beers too, and the service was fast. I was just here yesterday so I guess I should do the Yelp check-in's! Since my area HuHot did not reopen after the pandemic, I have crved that more than once. Earlier this year I got online to find the closest one and turns out that is just a one hour drive way to the Wisconsin Dells! You would not believe how many people I have bashfully confessed a craving for HuHot to this year who then ecstatically confess the same! And say what city they used to go to one in. I have made the trek to the Dells a few times this year with four (so far) different people. Service is good about making a return shortly after we get back from the grill with our plates to ask how is everything and making one more visit about refills before bringing the check. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We were grossed out yesterday as a friend discovered the other female in the bathroom left without washing her hands.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] People, quit being disgusting. In general. Much less at a place where you are touching ten or twenty ladles in the prepping of your dinner that are then touched by hundreds more people at LEAST. So that led me to go wash my hands before picking up my plate from the grillmasters. I assisted a woman using a four wheeled walker who had difficulty navigating the sink area toward the door. I am BEGGING this location and any other restaurant owner operators to come up with motion activated doors of some kind. Very large variety of veggies and meats. The sauce bar is the biggest I have ever seen. They have all the recipes there so you have some direction or I would have been completely lost. We were big Flat Top Grill fans. Then they closed the ones in Chicago. So we have had a Mongolian grill void in our lives. We were in the Dells and wanted to grab something to eat on the way home. I found this place on Yelp so we headed on in. It's like your standard Mongolian BBQ situation. Proteins were catfish, chicken, beef and I think sausage? Tons of veggies plus tofu. There were 3 different kinds of noodles too. The sauce bar is dope! Lots of options and they're spicy which is hard to find. You stand around the flat top and watch them cook your creation. Then you grab it and head to your seat. My concoction was delicious. I ate two bowls. I wish I had a bowl right now. My kids saw the s'mores dessert on the menu and I was like "absolutely not, s'mores at the table must be like $30". TEN NINETY NINE. For s'mores at your table! So they absolutely got s'mores too. This is going to be a regular for us when we're at the Dells. We'll be back in two months and I can't wait. read more

Very friendly staff, greeted as walking in. Very spacious, modern, clean. Plenty of seating even when it was the busy lunch hour. Great choices and love the layout. Several people were ahead and it was still less than 15 mins to pick food and end up with everything cooked. Our server was tentative and friendly and made great recommendations. He also asked if anyone had an allergy which I did and they give you a yellow bowl to differentiate you as well as cooking your food separately from everybody else's, a picture is attached so you can see. A pleasant surprise with all the "All You Can Eat" places in the Dells area! HuHot staff was great answering questions on the phone, welcoming, sharing how things work, and of course, preparing the food. Great teamwork, especially around the grill, with someone who may have been a manager stepping in when the line started building, and even broke into chant on the way around the various creations. We'll be back here for an all you can eat option (other menu options seemed great, too), though not the other places we tried on vacation! read more

This has become a staple for my friends and I whenever we visit the Dells. We know this place from the state of Iowa, where we're from, and this restaurant is very much the same high quality. It does offer small changes, like self serve rice and a separate bowl if there are allergy needs. But, it's nothing negative, just little differences. The servers are great and the chefs do a great job. One little thing I can mention not seen in the Iowa ones but seen here is that they actually do as little birthday jingle. It's not as bad as those I've heard at other restaurants, but it can get a bit on the loud/bangy side for my friends that are hearing sensitive. read more

I spent about $30 on my food and another $10 tipping. For me this exceeds what I spend going out for average, decent food. The staff were very nice but the food was overcooked both times I went through. I used 6 - 7 ladles of sauce and oil in my food before reaching the cooking process and it still came out overcooked and dry. Also, the flavor of the sauces I used indicated that they were watered down. I think the problem is that customers waste a ton of material and for the sauce, I'll bet 1/3 of it gets spilled into the drains in the sauce table. Then they don't have experienced cooks, they just have people trained to shuffle the food around on a giant flat top until the meat is the right color. They leave your pile of food and noodles burning up until it's done and they shuffle it around a bit with spatulas a couple of times. This was at the level of bad Chinese food I've gotten a few times... Overcooked and flavorless besides the obvious salt. I don't ever plan on going back. read more

Let's get the negative out of the way. Why couldn't this place have been open when I first started going to the Dells area about 40 years ago. Didn't discover this establishment until May of 2021. Fresh, hot, and delicious made to order individually customized meal. Straight to the entrees it's all you can eat and you take a small bowl fill it up with your protein, noodles "starch", veg, and any sauces. They cook it right in front of you in a bring round flat top. But if your coming here for chicken fingers in an American Asian restaurant this is not the place clearly. Anyways, if you don't know what kind of sauce to put on your dish they have pre-made recipes to go by above the sauce stand. The cooks if they weren't cooking they were constantly checking the quality of the stands from restocking to cleanliness, which was great. The place is relatively new and clean. Chairs have rips all over it sat us in corner with broken benches this place is run down as it gets! How are health officials not flagging this place? Excellent food, service and atmosphere for a family. Who doesn't love a good Mongolian Grill? We certainly do. This one was exceptional in flavor choices and the cook was superbly entertaining!! All you can eat - You pick your ingredients and make your own sauce and they cook it up. There is a cheat sheet on how to make the basics if you don't know what you are doing. Also a small menu if one in your party is not up for a $15 meal all you can eat. I got the teriyaki chicken salad and it was delectable. Service here the night we went was absolutely wonderful. The waitress attentive and patient. We had a funny group of little rowdy boys behind us which was entertaining and the waitress was so kind. My kids kept saying how naughty they were while we giggled.
