We stayed at Chula Vista, doing the all inclusive option, so why my husband wanted to spend $400 on a fancy steak dinner, I'm not sure. The restaurant opens at 5 PM. I would have preferred to show up earlier, as we had no choice to bring our 5 and 3 year old that we were vacationing with. All of the staff were extremely friendly. We ordered the Nueskes bacon appetizer: very giant pieces of bacon. While tasty, it was still a bit fatty and I think I honestly prefer regular bacon. We both ordered a 12 oz Filet mignon. I got the Bleu cheese crust and my husband got the Parmesan crust. It was quite a thick crust on top and definitely added to the experience. While it was quite good, I'm not sure I'd say it was the best steak I've ever had, and certainly didn't seem worth $80. The sides were ginormously portioned, even when we got the half side of mashed potatoes for "two" we didn't finish. While we planned on going out for free dinner with the kids afterward, the kids meal prices were not outrageous so we just ordered their meals at the same time. Both dinners came with fries and fruit, so seemed like a decent value. The cocktails were reasonably priced (around $15 each). I would have liked to try more items, but my husband probably would have lost his cool if we spent even more money. The ambiance is nice, but we spent the majority of the time trying to shush our children and not disturb other guests. All in all, it was an enjoyable experience, but not quite worth the price tag. read more

Enjoyed our visit so very much. Slow night (Tuesday evening) but we were in town and booked a table. Jordan, our waiter was so very friendly...good suggestions and overall just made our evening. The views from the restaurant are beautiful. All staff were super friendly. Kept the tables cleaned of dirty items... etc. The made at table garbage salad was delightful. We shared a side order of the salad. Hubby had the French onion soup. Our steaks were outstanding - cooked to perfection. (Medium)... risotto was delish and so was spinach and mushroom gratin. So much food- we had to take half of everything home. We were celebrating our anniversary and they surprised us with their signature dessert. OMG!- two fudgey brownies stacked and layered with chocolate and caramel sauce- warmed sauces... with a scoop of ice cream. I'd come back for that dessert alone. Love me a fudge brownie. There are no words! This was THE WORST dining experience we have ever had. Years ago it was wonderful but boy has quality and service gone down hill. My sister ordered the porterhouse steak and it came with nothing else. there was no juice on the plate it was hard dry and chewy for $89 was outrageous. My sister wanted a baked potato with it. We were told they were out of baked potatoes! Really out of baked potatoes??? And you can't get a 1 serving side. What if you you are ding alone? 3 of us ordered the shrimp dish which came with 3 shrimp and some pasta with a thick white sauce that was awful. They brought out 1 persons order and the other 2 never came out. We ended up telling them to cancel cause the steak was not edible and I shared my shrimp with the 2 that didn't get there's. It was laughable. The manager came and tried to make things right which was much appreciated but honestly at this point we just wanted to leave. He charged us for our drinks the oysters we ordered and 2 side garbage salads and mashed potatoes We won't be back ever And that is super sad For all of us. read more

My husband and I went to Kaminski's for their dinner for two special. It was fantastic and well worth the money. We had a lobster mac and cheese appetizer with a delicious red sauce, a customized garbage salad, two melt-in-your-mouth filets, loaded mashed potatoes, and the biggest brownie you have ever seen. We could not eat all the food and enjoyed leftovers the next day! I highly recommend this restaurant. You won't be disappointed. We will be back for sure! Came here with 4 other guys while out in WI for an ice fishing trip. I was tempted to give 5 stars, but the restaurant itself is a little dated and could use an overhaul. The service was also a 4 out of 5, our waitress was nice and friendly but seemed to have a little bit of trouble with our drink order. On the plus side, the food was really good. I got the regular filet and others in our group got the bone-in filet and everything was cooked correctly to the way it was ordered. The risotto was excellent as well. I do wish that we had tried the bacon appetizer that was recommended, but will have to wait until next time! Will definitely be back the next time that we are in the area. read more

Wonderful dining experience at Kaminski's Chophouse this last week! Greeted warmly By the manager and sat in a booth where we could still see out the large windows with gleaming sunshine in the early evening and beautiful tree line outside. Our server, Karen, was quick, pleasant and very attentive. She explained the steaks and seafood options, their famous garbage salad and attended to my need for a Sapphire martini quickly. The bread was warm and a nice touch while we awaited our meals. We were there on Thursday evening (in the off season) so it wasn't "busy" but other guests came and went. My well-done petite filet was magnificent! (Don't hate me, that's how I like it!) Perfectly cooked and so flavorful! I added bearnaise sauce. My friends medium petite filet was perfect as well. She added bourbon cream sauce. We shared the spinach and mushroom gratin and a huge baked potato for our sides. That spinach and mushroom gratin is a GREAT side dish! So good! We were checked on a few times by both Karen and the manager, but not too much; just right! Karen was engaging and delightful. We finished our meals with creme brûlée, my favorite non chocolate dessert! My friend had never had it before and enjoyed it too! It really was a lovely meal in a beautiful restaurant. To whom it my concern, My girlfriend and I just left Kaminski's and we couldn't get out of their fast enough. The manager if that's his role, name Is Josiah was beyond unprofessional and unpleasant. We booked the last reservation (9:45pm) and arrived at 9:54pm (our apologies) however Josiah proceeded to say "we close in 6 minutes" and I proceeded to say "do you not take reservations up to 9:45pm?" He said yes that is our last seating however you're late and everyone is tired. Reluctantly, he sits us anyway and through the entire evening we receive nothing but negative energy from him as well as surrounding staff. We ordered as quick as we could, ate as quick as we could, and left as quick as we could because the environment was beyond unwelcoming. I understand we were late for our reservation but industry standard provides a 10-15 minute grace period for late arrivals and that was not welcomed tonight. We will not be returning and we will be sure to share our experience accordingly. Josiah really needs additional management / behavior training to ensure future guest experiences are not as poor as ours was tonight. Please address this accordingly. Went to Kaminski's Chophouse for Happy Hour with my coworkers and I really enjoyed the food and drinks. Their new mocktail menu is fantastic, and a great alternative if you are not interested in drinking alcohol. Service was friendly and helpful, and food came out very quickly. Overall, I love that you can see the river and the giant windows provide large amounts of natural light. read more

I stopped in here because it's fairly local to where I live on Saturday night. Despite the fact that there was a furry convention in town there were four empty high tops in the bar area and two empty seats at the bar +6 or seven tables with no one seated. It was around 7 o'clock And I was told that I couldn't sit at the bar and if I wanted to I couldn't order food. This was ridiculous so I ended up going to delbar and was seated immediately. Visited Kaminski's for our anniversary. Positives are that the oysters were good and the risotto was fantastic, but for a "Chop House" serving $60-$90 steaks... we were shocked by what was brought out to us. Stringy low quality meat, with absolutely no sear on the outside. Any one who enjoys steak knows that the your meat shouldn't be grey on the outside. Her filet mignon (pictured) was ordered as medium and came to us as blue rare, as did my ribeye which was ordered medium rare. Pretty disappointed for a $230 meal for two. Thankfully the waitress knew we were disappointed and threw in a brownie, which we did appreciate. Probably will not be going back though! read more

It's a steak house attached to a second tier hotel so you already know how it is going to go down. We were at the hotel for a work session and stopped in. Nothing was bad about the experience but also nothing that would warrant a repeat. Prices were inflated and the quality of steaks were average. The waitstaff for our table were great-there were doing their job. Unfortunately, the space (that swung and missed to replicate a cozy steakhouse vibe) and the food just didn't live up to my standards. If you were stranded at the hotel with no ability to leave the property, Kaminiski's is a safe option. But if you have the option to leave, there are better steaks and overall meals in the Dell's area. read more

They apologized and provided a free dessert, nice but service needs should have been better for the price. There are much better supper clubs in the Wisconsin Dells area. Steak was just nice in the middle but was like rubber on the edges. The crag legs were very minimal and soggy. I can cook way better steak, crab legs and lobster at home than here. I have eaten at many high end places such as capital grill, Charlies in Orlando, Broker in Denver, Mannies Minneapolis....and many many others and they are amazing. They used to do a meat presentation and that didn't happen. The chocolate cake was like a rock and I skipped it, I could not cut into it. The salad thing is cool. However, when we visited the welcome center at Wisconsin Dells they still told us this was our best option for steak in town. our family loves steak so we thought we would still give it a try. our older two daughters love steak so we let them order the kids steak from the menu. 30 dollars per kids steak we had hoped for a better experience. our server Jordan was really great. no take away from him. we asked for medium on their steaks which we were told would be with a red to pink center, the whole steaks were completely well done, our girls could not eat them. we even asked for sauces which they did not like. they ended up eating our adult steak options with us. we tried them and they were so dry. read more

This is a restaurant inside a large resort that so wants to be a big time steakhouse. Food was overall good but my steak was over cooked. For the price of it ($50+) you can imagine my irritation. The waiter just shrugged his shoulders and apologized. It might have been his first day. You can tell they're understaffed and doing what they can. Your waiter makes the salad table side so it's a cool 'show' and desserts were similar. There were family's with kids and I'd feel comfortable bringing mine if we were staying in the hotel. We made reservations early. This place impressed starting from arrival. Relaxed vibe with exceptional service and food. We started in the bar with our bartender John. Righteous drinks and good company. While waiting and enjoying drinks we then were led to our table. Our waiter was Josiah. I completely recommend this gentleman. Superb service and knowledgeable about all selections. We kept the conversation light and witty and he totally engaged us! He was completely attentive but not hovering. With that said, the first server we walked into wasn't sure if the restaurant could seat us 45 mins before they close ?? but another server was willing to serve us. I guess some folks don't want to make any money?? The meal was pretty good but not exceptional nor worth the cost; our waitress was well spoken & appeared to be a seasoned pro; we liked her. Drinks, appetizers & meal were tasty but it's SO overpriced it's ridiculous. Seriously, take the time to go somewhere else if you want to save some cash. FACTS: Ribeye a generous maybe 1/4 inch thick--very skimpy & major disappointment for 62 bucks, my fish special was cut square (?) and had such a fishy odor, oysters Rockefeller good but very shells. Only thing they pride themselves on is the gigantic portion of broccoli or baked potato. Special salad was ok but I cud do better at home; again wayyyy overpriced.
