China Buffet is not the most authentic place that serves Chinese food, but then again neither are any Chinese Buffets that I have been to. This restaurant has one of the friendliest servers and for a cheap buffet it could always be worse. Their food is surprisingly pleasant and they have pretty much anything you could possibly want in any buffet. They are also one of the cleanliest Chinese Buffets that I ever ate at. The worst part of this place is the horrible parking lot that contains loads of creepy individuals that look as though they are about to stab anyone that walks by. Saw the commercial on tv. The ad made the place look clean and offering a wide variety of food. This was not my experience. The stir fry bar in the back had very minimal veggie offerings to compliment the meat options. And when I told the cook I wanted garlic sauce, he said 'what's garlic sauce?' I wanted fried shrimp...none to be found. They did have some fried mystery offering...more than likely calamari? Ugh. The eggrolls were cabbage...nothing else rolled inside. And they had the cheap packages of duck sauce and hot mustard on the salad bar. They didn't have the creamy hot mustard sauce found on most large chinese buffet salad bars. Overall the cleanliness of the place was questionable. They wanted me to pay at the table...and I'm not too fond of letting my debit card out of my sight. Visited on Father's Day with my sons, figured it would be busy, the food hot and fresh. What we found was an overpriced, poor quality chinese-style buffet. Very few items were hot and tasteful, most were cold, dried out and long past their shelf-life on a buffet line. Service was below average as well. Overall, a pretty decent Chinese buffet. The food was about what you would find at any other Chinese buffet, though I did think that their hot and sour soup was especially good. I wasn't able to find any General's chicken, which surprised me ... I've always considered that a Chinese restaurant staple. I liked that the sizes of the individual items tended to be on the smaller side, which made it easier to try a lot of different items without having to overfill your plate. One thing that was a little annoying was that many of the dishes weren't labeled, so you kind of had to guess what you're eating. Our server was great. I often find that at buffets, the servers don't do so well at keeping your drinks refilled, but that was definitely not the case here. Cool atmosphere, about 11 bucks for buffet with a drink included, it has been remodeled in the last year, pay as you leave, all you can eat. Came during lunch time alone one day. The inside is very pretty and well lit. I was seated immediately in a booth. A waitress got my drink order before I could even sit down or put my belongings down. The food selection as great and the food was amazing. The food was tasty, but I still won't be going back. Just the way they run is disagreeable by many. One might think the waitresses are being kind coming up to you every 5 minutes for a refill. (this place doesn't have free refills, not necessarily a problem but those drinks really add up) But they're actually looking at what's on your/yall's plates. Idk why they charge like 10 dollars a person for the buffet if certain food items cost extra money. Or if you decide to treat your family by taking them to this establishment, there's an untold family fee. Also, the employees can be quite discriminate towards their African American customers. And the waiters are quite insistent on a tip. Once you're getting ready to leave, the waiter will quickly come to your table and just stand there as if they're waiting for something. Last time I went I had to squeeze past the waiter cause she just stood there like she just saw the holy ghost. Like literally just stood there in some trance. Like imma wait here till you tip me type trance. Now normally I would tip, and quite handsomely. But they take means into their own hands, and tip themselves. I recieved my recipt and and they tipped themselves 12 dollars! it said tip: 12 USD not yen! USD!!!! now normally that wouldn't have been a problem because I sometimes tip more. The best part about China Buffet is that it's very cheap: $5.99 for lunches. The next best part about it is that the all-you-can-eat buffet includes sushi rolls, which weren't bad for being practically free. If you're used to good asian food, you'll be very disappointed. Food was average, but a little on the cold side. Service was great, super friendly lady. Found it strange the restaurant charges an adult price for 10 years and up. My child is 10 and ate some rice and sweet & sour chicken. I do understand that some 10 year olds can eat adult portions...I was just surprised. If I could rate this place 0 stars I would. I came here with two friends and me and one of my friends ate, while the other one was just gunna wait for us to eat at the table. Not even seconds after getting my food, 15 employees were stalking and watching our table to make sure that we didnt share our food. This made the friend that ate very uncomfortable, to the point where they left and sat in the car. When the staff came up to me to ask if everything was Okay, i said No mam there is nothing okay with disrespecting your customers like that. The cooks need to ensure the meatloaf for one is done and not pink in the middle and covered in catsup. Food taste like everything cooked in the same grease, therefore the food taste the same. Sushi was disgusting the avocado was brown and there were some ingredients I could not identify including some yellow spongy stuff. The flavors of all the food are in the same kind of Brown sauce. TERRIBLE!!! I went for lunch today and as everything "looked" ok, it wasn't! I started with a couple of the fried crabs (whole) and a couple of the cheese mussels, a stuffed crab and stuffed something else. Sat down and the actual crab meat in the crab was not there much at all. The other stuffed crab was stuffed with something which I have never seen! The other was cold and fake crab! So I went back up and got some dumplings which I was not what kind because there are NO signs telling what anything is ANYWHERE on ANY item! It was a true guessing game. In turn the dumplings were ice cold and the lettuce on the botom of the steam bamboo pot which dumplings are usually stored with a cover looked like the lettuce was from the night before! The Grossest, Dirtiest place I have ever been to! I got up and told the manager it was disgusting! BTW sushi was hard as a rock like the rice was used from yesterday. He rolled them fresh but with unfresh rice! ICK! NEVER again!! Be aware because last I checked "buffets" have to have a certain "holding" temperature on foods, once they go below a certain temperature it has to be thrown out. I may contact the health department because holding food at cold is extremly dangerous for the public especially when they are holding fish and other meaty items!
