They did an awesome job setting the place up for take out only; free hand sanitizer, plexiglass between the cashier and the customer, floor tape helping you keep 6 feet apart, option to use your credit card without having to sign (and yes i verified the amount was correct using my online banking) The food was delicious; I often like to order 2 appetizers: crab rangoon (which comes with a delicious sweet+sour sauce) and a small wonton soup- enough for a lunch time medium appetite. Both were delicious, and for less than $8 its a thrift great lunch. Conveniently located in the village of Manlius; plenty of free parking including handicap spots so you don't need to be one of those jerks that parks in the fire lane :-)

Went during lunch and got shrimp lo mein. Prices are decent and I have no complaints. Will return!

Probably one of the best Chinese take out places in CNY that I've tried, even arguably one of the best Chinese food places in general (restaurants and buffets included). It seems more authentic and flavorful, and their Kung Pao chicken and beef Chow Fun never disappoint. We ask for our dishes to be extra spicy, and they fulfill the request for the most part. Service is good and China Cafe is now our go- to place for Chinese food!

Tips: I can only speak to the take-out. I have not eaten sitting down at the restaurant. Overall, disappointed with the mild flavors, could use more. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- I got a recommendation from a friend to try out China Cafe because it had great tasting food. I called in a take-out order for dinner one night on the way home from Toggenburg Mountain. I was unfortunately very disappointed with the food. Maybe it was because I had take-out and the food wasn't as great quality for the drive home. Eggplant with Garlic Sauce - The flavor isn't quite there. I've had some great eggplant garlic sauce dishes around the Syracuse area and China Cafe didn't measure up to some of them. 21 Cafe is by far my favorite. Szechuan Boiled Fish - The fish wasn't as flavorful as I'd like it. I could taste the chinese numbing spice, but not much else. Crispy Chicken - batter was too thick and tough If I find myself in the area I might give China Cafe another chance by dining in, but I wouldn't want to order away again.

Big portions that are reasonably priced and several tables for large groups. It's in a former Chinese grocery and the decor wasn't much of an upgrade. The spice level is milder than most Szechuan restaurants (it probably doesn't help that my Mandarin isn't very good). I had the boiled fish which was very good and the fried beef with cumin which was surprisingly sweet.

The ordering experience was one of the most bizarre and frustrating I've had in recent years. But the food itself was delicious. Since we were driving with young wailing kids in the backseat, we called the restaurant 20 minutes out to place our order. The lady who picked up the phone told me in Chinese that the restaurant was very busy, so I should place the order when I was 10 minutes away, or better yet, when I was at the restaurant. I tried to explain that the whole point of placing the order by phone was to avoid waiting, but she had put a male Chinese-speaking colleague on the phone, who told me to just order at the restaurant because he was too busy to take phone orders. With that, he promptly hung up on me. Ten minutes out, I called again and tried to order eggplant in garlic sauce and fish in chili oil. The same man I had spoken to before had tried to get me to just place the order when I arrived at the restaurant, but I again told him that we were trying to avoid waiting for our food since we had young children (now screaming) in the car. He reluctantly took my order (I was told that my third request--vermicelli with spiced minced pork--was not available). Frustratingly, when we arrived at the restaurant, they had not even started cooking our food, so we had to wait about 15 minutes. The food itself was superb. The eggplant is some of the best I've had. The fish in chili oil was also wonderfully tender, though there was a slightly higher ratio of Napa cabbage to fish than what I've usually experienced for this dish at other restaurants. The interior of the restaurant was modest and cafeteria-like. I can't comment on the service quality for dining in. If it weren't for the rough phone ordering experience, I would be keen on ordering takeout or dining in there again.

Customer Feedback…read more The reason I'm leaving this feedback is because our host, Sunny, was very respectful, kind, and welcoming. Everything was clean, and the food was served hot. However, our waitress, Lisa, was very disrespectful and unprofessional. When we were speaking to her, she would walk away, and her attitude came across as rude. She was also very quiet but had a smart mouth when responding to us. We did not appreciate the way we were treated. We understand that everyone can have a bad day, but customers should still be treated with respect and professionalism. If someone does not want to work, no one is forcing them to, but that should not result in customers receiving poor treatment. We hope Lisa understands how her behavior made us feel and takes this feedback seriously. We truly appreciate Sunny for being kind and respectful and hope management recognizes the difference in our experience.

Nice inside, clean and various booth and table options with comfortable chairs. Decently priced. Very Americanized versions of dishes and I found nothing was spicy enough for my liking. The General Tso's chicken was very sweet. The lo mein lacked flavor and veggies. They did have sushi and a hibachi section which add to the variety and overall appeal. The bathrooms were spacious and very clean.

I gotta say, it's one of the best deals in the 315. Does Firudo serve the best sushi I've ever had? No, not even close but it's definitely good enough for the price you're paying. The AYCE also comes with a couple caveats. You're limited to 10 pieces of sashimi and 10 pieces of sushi- you can get as many maki/hand rolls as you'd like. So keep that in mind. I've never had a wait at Firudo and the staff is attentive. It's very clearly a family run business, which I appreciate. As long as you don't go expecting Jiro dreams of sushi, I think you'll have a great meal.

I feel like the place is never terrible, but also never amazing. The water tastes a bit chemically (like water with a bit of the cleaner in it) and the soda also never tastes great. I would say to go when you're not in a rush cause the service is also hit or miss. The last time they barely checked in on the table for refills or if we wanted to order more. I will say, I get the Syracuse roll and the Salmon Lover roll almost every time and they're always decent for me. The fried rice has always been fine too. My fiancé always gets the chicken katsu and enjoys it. If you go in with low expectations, then it will probably be better than expected!
