Wow the reviews for this place are kinda low? I think this restaurant is actually really delicious and flavorful for more traditional Chinese cuisine. I came here with my family and we ordered a bunch of things to try such as the dry sautéed green beans, salt and pepper squid, walnut mayo shrimp, pepper steak, and dry fried fish fillet. The things to definitely try are the green beans and the pepper steak. The steak was so tender and flavorful and the green beans were also tasty as well. The other items were ordered were tasty but the portion size was rather lacking and could've been more substantial for the cost. Overall I would definitely come here again read more

Ordered this for a quick Dim Sum fix to our Hotel near Downtown Syracuse and it hit the spot. The Shrimp fried rice was a plentiful portion and well seasoned throughout. I really enjoyed the pork rolls and the absolute standout was the KFC dumplings, which we ordered as a bit of a joke, but the chicken katsu was light and fried perfectly with a well balanced spicy mayo sauce paired with it. The Shumai was not my favorite with the dumpling consistency being a bit chewy for my liking, and the Crab Rogoon (they spell it that way) was just okay, but overall, I would absolutely order from Mr Noodle and Ms Dumpling again! read more

Went here for brunch with the girls and Mr. Noodle and Ms. Dumpling did not disappoint. The sushi was done right, fresh, balanced, and exactly what you want when you're craving it. Every dish we tried was amazing, no misses at all. Service was fast and smooth, drinks were spot on, and we really appreciated the level of privacy at our table. It made the whole experience feel relaxed and easy, not rushed or crowded. The decor has just the right ambiance, stylish without trying too hard. Have you ever driven by a place and just said wow I think I need to go there? This was that place for me. I drove by the building around three times in my travels and its exterior just spoke to me, I love the color and I love the layout. I didn't realize I would love the interior as well! Kind of a nautical theme meets and among the trees type feeling. Very well lit, very well decorated. But that's not why I came, I came to eat! I figured with the name that they bear, they must have really good dumplings. I asked my server what her favorite items on the menu were, and the soup dumpling needed to be tried. I also ordered the chicken lo mein, because it's a favorite dish of mine. The soup dumplings were amazing, proper chew and texture on the dumpling, a proper chew to the meat that was inside, and an explosion of soup, which was absolutely delicious and flavorful. I could only three of them, because I knew that I would eat the rest of them if I didn't exercise some willpower. Luckily, the lo mein came out and I could enjoy that and not be totally stuffed. The lo mein was perfect temperature, flavorful well cooked pieces of chicken, and the noodles were perfectly done. If you're ever out in Syracuse and happen to be driving down Erie Boulevard and see this bright building, you should stop! read more

TARO SHORTBREAD! Yes... the best thing I ate out of my entire meal. It was flaky and just the right amount of sweetness. 5 stars for this dish! Unfortunately, the rest of my meal was lack luster. Takoyaki was okay. Without the fish flakes, it was more on the bland side. Soup dumplings were also okay. The top portion of the dumpling was more on the thicker, chewy side. The taste wasn't bland, but, it also wasn't full of flavor that I was hoping to get from a soup dumpling. It didn't have the flavor surprise when you first bite into a soup dumpling. IYKYK!!! Seaweed salad tasted like any other seaweed salad - it was refreshing. To note, I did order this meal to-go, which may have affected the texture of the soup dumplings. We've gone to Mr. Noodle & Ms. Dumpling a few times now. We've dined in & we have taken out. We've had mixed experiences with service & food. The space is quite pretty. The most consistently great thing in my book that usually keeps us coming back is their soup dumplings. They are made fresh & packed full of the comforting flavor you want from this menu item. Everything else we've gotten has been okay but nothing that really kept us coming back for more. The service also has been highly inconsistent of times where they are present & make us excited to be there & times where we didn't know if we'd ever get service at all. My wife requested this restaurant as her choice for a Mother's Day dinner (a day early to beat the crowds). We had reservations, but there was plenty of seating available. Walking in, the first thing we noticed was the cumbling cement threshold at the entrance. Once inside, we were promptly seated. The decor is a little strange, with a combination of dark wood, thick rope wrapped around cylindrical wooden pillars, and fake tree branches with plastic pink flowers. Everything seemed clean, and the waiter was pretty attentive. We ordered an appetizer of the pork dumplings, which were okay. My wife ordered chicken with broccoli, our daughter ordered sesame chicken, and I ordered tge orange chicken. All three dinners came with white rice in a small bowl. Portions of food were ample, but arrived moderately warm. My wife had to wait longer for her food to arrive, due to an issue in the kitchen, which made it awkward for others that wanted to eat their food before it got totally cold. The food was okay, but not overly flavorful. For the three of us, it cost $72.00 (including the tip), which wasn't too bad. We will probably go back at some point. read more

Stopped in about 7:00 on a Friday. No wait. Great atmosphere. Good crowd in there but not too loud. Large menu with multiple Asian cuisines represented. I decided to go the Chinese route and had the pork soup dumplings and deep fried sliced fish. Waited maybe ten minutes for my food. The dumplings were nice and full with aromatic soup that's full of flavor. They didn't skimp on the pork either. I think they have a slight edge over the dumplings at Red Chili across the street. The fish was also nice. A mild numbing from the peppercorns but not intense. Flavorful but the cuts could've been a little better. You can get the same dish across the street at Red Chili and I think there's has a slight edge. Good tea. 30 bones for the dumplings and fish. Well worth it. Try it out. read more

My first experience at Mr Noodle and Mrs Dumpling was as part of a Yelp Elite event and I must say that experience was excellent. Sadly, tonight came up a bit short. Don't get me wrong, tonight was good and the food was solid. Not spectacular, but sold nonetheless. Not Marcellus to Syracuse drive worthy, but if I happen to be in this area and I'm hungry looking for a good meal worthy. Not bookmark notable, but a keep in mind notable as a solid option. The service was friendly but a bit lacking in engagement and follow ups. They have a vast menu with Japanese, Chinese and some fusion selections...but that may be their downfall by trying to do too much with all the different options. Great food and service! We were in town for an event, and stop by for dinner. Steam small bun (Xiao Long Bao) were so good, we ordered two of them. We also ordered pan fried dumpling , cold sesame and peanut sauce noodle, and pan fried small bun. All food is very good, I can't believe we (2 people) finished them all without any take home box! Service is great! I would revisit this place next time in town, love the Mr noodle and Ms Xiaolong Bao! Tips for eating Xiaolong Bao here, they are juicy, make sure to do a small bite just to poke the bun skin, so the hot air and temperature can be released. This is an update to previous review. We had the cucumber chile salad, steamed pork soup dumplings, deep fried chicken in spicy sauce and eggplant and green beans. The food was very good. The cucumber salad was terrific. The dumplings were ok, but we made them great by dipping them in the cucumber salad dressing. The main plates were also very good. I finally made my way to Mr. Noodle and Ms. Dumpling, and it was worth the wait. I decided to go during lunch hours, so there was no wait at all. Strongly suggest these hours if you're not a huge fan of crowded restaurants. The ambiance of this restaurant is quite lovely. I loved the faux cherry blossoms trees they have placed throughout the dining room & the dark aesthetics. It makes the decor "pop" in a beautiful way. Our waitress was extremely joyful and friendly. Their customer service alone definitely gets a 10/10. We ordered 2 appetizers, 2 entrées, 1 soft drink, and my spouse had 2 beers. Our tab was fairly reasonable. Our total was about $70 bucks, give or take. IMO, that's not bad at all! The food was very fresh with a wonderful flavor profile. I especially enjoyed the appetizers. These were some of the best veggie egg rolls I've ever eaten, super crispy and delicious. The fried dumplings were equally amazing. Our entrées were hands down some of the best and freshest Asian cuisine we have had in this area. I particularly loved that they used chicken breast for their sesame chicken as I am more favorable to that particular cut of meat. Overall, this was a very pleasant dining experience with delicious and fresh food. Their menu is quite extensive with some very unique options. I will definitely return to "eat my way through their menu" My only small gripe (which isn't a huge deal) is that our appetizers and entrées came out at the same time. The hot and sour soup is so flavorful, with tofu, mushrooms, and egg. It had a mild amount of heat but was well balanced. My main dish was flounder with soft tofu in a slightly sweet sauce. It is one of my favorites eaten with the white rice. It also comes in a spicy version that I might try next time. It was a cold day so I ordered hot tea and I was nicely surprised that it was a very good jasmine tea. I am looking forward to my leftovers. read more

First timer here! Decided to get take out on a rainy day. Order was placed online, pick up went smoothly. The inside looked bright and clean. On to the dishes: Shanghai Wonton soup- 5/10 I was surprised to see this was just the wontons and broth. Wontons were very good, just used to more vegetables being in the soup especially with it being $10 Mongolian chicken- 7/10 this dish was good, but there wasn't enough flavor in my opinion. However if you're unsure what to try, I think this is a fine standard contender ($15) Lo Mein (shrimp)- 8/10 noodles lacked flavor, shrimp had fantastic flavor though! The shrimp were large, not soggy, and cooked perfectly ($16) Kung Pao Chicken- 9/10 delicious! It's a bit sweet and had celery and carrots in it which was interesting. But hey, I'll take more veggies! ($15) Pan Fried Pork buns- 9/10 not overly greasy, great flavor! ($7 for 4) Dan Dan Noodle- 10/10 Flavor is outstanding! Came here with friends and ordered different dishes to share. The diced chicken with chili had a dry spice flavor that hinted of turmeric. My friends really liked it, but I did not like the aftertaste. I ordered the jumbo ebi shumai, but the 6 pieces were tiny and wasn't what I was expecting. It was more of a minced types filling. So afterwards, we ended up ordering the 4 piece shrimp shumai under the dim sum. Now this was what I was hoping for. Beautiful pockets filled with pieces of shrimp. I would definitely order more of these. The scallion pancake was good. Flakier and less scallion than a Korean scallion pancake. The soup dumplings we had were also a fun treat to enjoy out of the big soup spoons. They really revamped this place and did some amazing decor inside. The staff are friendly and service is quick. I stopped here after a long driving trip and was famished so I tried a few things. Most of the food was really tasty. I did order the pad thai and though it didn't taste bad, it is not what I am used to. However, this isn't really a Thai restaurant so I would like to try more of their traditional dishes in the future. Definitely have to update with another review! It was great before, but we have had some even better experiences since my initial review. We went christmas eve this year and the staff was so attentive and lovely. They gave out little gifts to each customer. The food was delicious. I highly recommend their stir fried green beans. They shocked everyone at our table with how good they are! Garlicky, a little spicy, crunchy, and so incredibly good. The chow fun was delicious with the crunch of some fresh vegetables & the general tso's chicken wasn't soggy or over sauced. Friends had ma po tofu and I tried some and it was some of the best I've had. All around another great experience! read more

Experience has been similar to my counterpart Cathrine N. The food quality is consistent, but the service is not. With the exception of the "Signature Lobster Noodle" where they provide lobster claws with no means of getting the meat out of the claws(for $60). We ordered six dishes; half my guests happened to be of Chinese origin- most Chinese do no prefer eating their food without rice- but they served the protein 5-10 minutes before the rice- no one started eating until they feared he protein would get cold - this is very unorthodox its almost like asking Americans to eat their food before the drinks arrived. They have a policy that is written on the menu- pay with cash and get a 5% discount (so they do not have to pay the credit card fee). I did the math; I paid with cash, deducted the 5%, then added another 10% to bring the waiter to a 15% tip. The waiter didnt get it, he started to complain that his tip wasn't good enough until I assertively explained to him that the tip added up esp. since he didnt give us the rice on time. I do not believe it is necessarily for the customer to be assertive- you are there for a good time not to argue. We might order takeout in the future, but we are going to sit down in there again. read more

Golly, was I impressed by this place! A friend was stopping into town and wanted to grab lunch, so I told her to meet me here since it's been on my list to visit. The restaurant is beautiful, with faux blossoms all around. You'd never guess the inside was this gorgeous looking at the exterior, but it's a very pretty spot with nice ambiance. We went for an assortment of dim sum: cold noodles with sesame and peanut butter, spring rolls, shrimp dumplings, scallion pancake, and taro shortbread. I'll tell you, everything was amazing. Prices were reasonable albeit a little on the higher end. Each serving was modest but I was absolutely stuffed after sharing this spread. Highly recommend getting an assortment of dim sum dishes to split! I wish I could have tried more of the dumplings, but I don't eat meat so my options were limited. They sound excellent though! Tons of other dishes caught my eye, and I will certainly be back. (For the taro shortbread especially- flaky pastry and sweet but not overwhelmingly sweet taro filling. All perfectly warm. Yummmm.) Stopped here on a Friday night after our convention setup for some ramen. This was very close to where we were staying yet lathe last couple of years I had never noticed it. Very large and colorful interior with music, large TV screens, and cherry blossom accents. We were sat and ordered drinks, as well as soup dumplings and a variety of other pan fried dumplings. These were VERY GOOD. Very traditional and didn't seem like they were just reheated frozen section items. For the ramen - I went with a miso ramen which wasn't - the broth was very off - didn't taste like miso at all so I added soy sauce in an attempt to rescue the meal.
