I moved to Clearwater a month ago and have been looking for a Chinese restaurant that is good as the one I loved before. I believe I've found it at last. If you've got a craving for Chinese food, skip this place. Everything was just bland - we had ordered the pork lo mein, the pork fried rice, the general Tso's chicken, and the sugar donuts. The donuts were under cooked and the lo mein was over cooked/too saturated with water that the lo mein noodles just pulled into tiny pieces instead of being able to twirl and slurp them. The pork in the lo mein and the fried rice had no flavor whatsoever. The general Tso's chicken had a sogginess to it as well; no crunch factor, and the sauce was incredibly bland. We ordered through Uber Eats so I can't comment on the dine in experience here or customer service, but the food was just so ho-hum that I don't see us trying it again. read more

Not sure what I like more there, the food or the people who serve the food. I always feel welcome there. The menue is great and quite tasty. No matter what I tried, it always was great and flavorful. Best Chinese to go food ever had and that's from a person who supplied thousands of restaurants I had the pork egg foo young not all dried out like some places. Steamed dumplings again fantastic fried rice again gusto ever had delivery took a little bit long food was a little bit cold, but it was so good it didn't matter. Had the taste for some beef & broccoli. Out of all the Chinese food restaurants in the area this one seemed to have the "best" reviews. I placed a pick up order for a large. It was a little over $14 & it was ready within 10 min. The service was quick and very friendly. The beef & broccoli had absolutely so flavor. When I say none I do mean NONE. $14 wasted! I recently had lunch at China City and thought it was very good. I had the General Tso's lunch special with fried rice and an egg roll. I ate inside the restaurant at one of their 4 tables. The chicken was very tasty and had a good crunch to it. The fried rice had a great brown color to it but needed little more soy sauce to bump up the flavor. The egg roll was nice and crunchy too. I thought the lunch was definitely worth it and planning coming back to try some other dishes soon. read more

Honestly the pepper steak did not have a sauce that's usually in it, oyster sauce or something, so it was very bland. I asked for extra beef and they gave me two small bowls that honestly did not equate to extra beef like I've gotten from many other places. I gave the place two stars because its not good take-out Chinese compared to what we have back home near Philly. The taste was ok, it wasn't disgusting or anything. I liked the fried rice with the egg and vegetables. I do, however, wish they used real rice instead of whatever brown round shtuff they use. It sort of felt like par-boiled brown rice. The General Tsos was a disappointment. The breading was thick and hard, almost as if it was microwaved. The sauce was a little bland... but it tasted liked "generic" tsos. The bubble tea... yuck. The boba was more of a crystally jelly and not gummy. Sort of like Korean do-to-ri-mook. I keep ordering from this place by mistake whenever I'm down here. I had the Lunch Special for $6.35, selecting sesame chicken, fried rice and a bottle of water. I added six fried dumplings for $5.15 more. I was given a packet of soy sauce for my dumplings, but I put duck sauce on them instead. (I actually prefer vinegar on my dumplings but didn't bother to ask if they had any.) I found the food here pretty good: a bit above average compared to most similarly priced (that is, inexpensive) Chinese places. I dined at a table out front. I've gotten many things here and all weren't that good. (Esp the lo mein-horrible) Tonight I thought we would try there general tso while I was at Publix. Hard to go wrong on that.. it was so sweet.. tasted like they dumped a cup of sugar in the sauce. The small chicken was $10 and they don't even fill it to the top like every other Chinese restaurant. Normally for $10 you get your moneys worth at a Chinese take out.. I was still hungry after I ate this- in one sitting. Well with what I could eat I should say. There was a good bit that had like no chicken inside of it (picture shown) or it was so hard and dry which made it inedible. I've been looking for good, fast Chinese takeout for awhile since we moved to Clearwater and I have to say that after trying it tonight, it's up there. Many places give you dry chicken and tasteless rice but I found this place makes it similar to the restaurant where I grew up. I ordered my go to, General Tso and pork lo mein, and both came out great. My fiancé has allergies and they were very careful to prepare his safely. Overall good value. Very good menu selections and the food (my order) tastes great; very flavorful! I ordered the pepper steak with onions but I asked for extra vegetables (up-charge). My extra vegetable choices were carrots, snow peas and water chestnuts. Egg roll was well made and delicious; nice and crispy. Side order of crab rangoon was also crispy and delicious. Very fresh! After spending $90 on food with tip they wanted to charge for bourbon sauce. I get times are tough, but a 2oz sauce isn't going to ruin the business. Hands down this place has the best Chinese food in town! I order from here a few times a month and they never let me down. They are on top of their game not only with food but their delivery packaging. I always get the chicken rice soup with whatever order and it's delicious. Crab Rangoons are phenomenal. All the food from this place taste so fresh and not like it's been sitting around forever like some Chinese places. They are also very fast. This place is so good and authentic! They have chao nian gao (炒年糕) which is hard to find here in Florida. It's called Chow Bai Goo on the menu here. It's stir fried rice cakes (like the Korean style tteok) with beef, egg, and a delicious broth. I love it so much! I'm hooked. read more

I've ordered from here before and I've never had a problem but I just ordered shrimp fried rice a spring roll and pork steamed dumplings only to bite into a dumpling after already eating one and see that the meat inside was bright pink and raw. This restaurant gives chinese food a bad name. Ordered beef with broc, which is a staple chinese food, they managed to messed it up. The beef was tough, lacks flavor, servings were small. Had the fried chicken, do they even use any seasoning?! So bland! Chicken Fried rice, why would you put a yellow food coloring on it? Let the butter and soy sauce give it a natural color!!!! It's taken a while to find good Chinese food since moving here to Florida. I found China City on Yelp. We ate here a week ago and the food was delicious! We had fried chicken wings (one serving has 3 huge wings) and vegetable lo mein (served with tons of zucchini, snow peas, mushrooms and broccoli). The service was nice.
