I'm not a year-round resident, but I came upon Kue's after reading other reviews. I went there alone and had the Sichuan Chicken and enjoyed it. The folks there were very friendly. Came back today and tried the Mongolian Chicken, hot. My wife had Sesame Chicken which is mild. We shared a Spicy Shrimp appetizer. The Egg Drop soup was flavorful. The shrimp was served with what I think was basil, ginger and Thai chiles. Very good! My wife's Sesame Chicken was tender and sweet. My Mongolian Chicken was money! Why this place isn't packed is beyond me. Not your run-of-the-mill Chinese restaurant. Worth a try. read more

This is our second time at this restaurant. I'm really glad we gave it another try. This time I ordered the Pad Thai. I have to say it was perfection. The best Pad Thai had in this area. My husband had the general tso, he said the chicken was quality. And the sauce very flavorful. Our food overall had a lot of flavor. The egg drop soup that comes with the meal was also very delicious. Once again, I have to say probably the best egg soup I've ever had. The interior of the restaurant can get very noisy. Had a craving for Chinese food and this place is fairly close to us. From the outside it looks like all of the windows are blacked out but from inside it's quite bright. You can see out from inside. Service was perfect. Very helpful with the menu. We ordered a Thai soup and a hot and sour soup. Both were excellent. Flavourful. Then we ordered General Tao chicken with a side of steamed rice and drunken noodles. Everything was great. Drunken noodles could have been a bit more spicy but they were very well done. Great little place for a fast, filling and flavorful lunch. Lots of choices for beef, pork, chicken, seafood, vegetables, etc. And if you ask for it "hot" you'll get it. What a great little place! This is my wife and I's second time here. This is a simple place decorated in Asian decor. I think the building used to be an old Pizza Hut. They transformed it into such a perfect place to enjoy their fresh made Thai and Chinese cuisine!! Everyone here is so friendly and pleasant! Their food is fresh made and delicious!! They offer the dinner portion or lunch portion which I think is a great touch!! The lunch portion is the perfect amount of food for us!! Yes- it was once a Pizza Hut. Now it is a Thai/Chinese fusion delight! Wonderfully attentive service, a full menu for lunch and dinner, and fair prices! It's a gem! Can you imagine a full lunch special with crab Rangoon, egg drop soup with house and crunchy wonton skins for the soup, hot tea, & an entree for $10-$13 even on the weekend - chicken, pork, beef, or shrimp? This is that place with such a great value, great food and variety, and great service. This is our go to when in Dunedin. There's lots of great food in the area, but this place always keeps us coming back. We get so much for such a great deal and it's just so tasty. This last time I had the shrimp and broccoli. I have had so many dishes here. We always ask for our own side of crunchy wonton skins for our egg drop soup bc it's just so good. At lunch we always get crab rangoons included and they are so good. The jasmine tea to wash it down is wonderful. Our entrees we get it with fried rice which is not extra. Always happy with our entrees here, no matter what we try. Definitely a winner and we can't stop coming back for more. They have booths and tables here. Today we got there right at 3. They open at 3pm on Saturdays which may seem a bit late. This morning we decided to try a new local restaurant as our Sunday Funday activity. Glad we chose Kue's Cafe! The little yellow (I think old Pizza Hut building) is unassuming on the outside but the inside is so cute! The young people working there are attentive and kind. Didn't need anything the entire lunch. Originally went because it was the only restaurant that offered lunch specials on a Sunday from 3-5, however, we ended up ordering dinner portions just to have left overs after seeing the food on other tables. All lunch and dinners come with Egg drop soup. It was a little salty but still yummy. My pad thai was delicious and my husband was happy with his curry. I usually get the curry noodles with shrimp and scallops but today I ordered the pad Thai and it was more of a tangy than sweet and that's the perfect type of pad Thai 10 out of 10. We got to try the egg drop soup and the cream cheese Rangoon wontons. The service is so spectacular. They let you order the lunch portion sizes at dinner and you only pay the lunch price so then I like to order a couple different things to try like a rice dish and a noodle dish. This is my go to for Thai food. No need to go to another Thai place anywhere else. If sesame chicken or general tsos is your jam... this is the place. Nobody makes these better than here. I love the peanut Thai curry! Absolutely delicious. The vegetables are always fresh the orders are made to order and nothing is pre-made. So feel comfortable in knowing that you are going to get the exact dinner that you like. I have been coming here for the last several years and I'm so thrilled that they are open and have the business that they do. This place is definitely a Hidden gem. The service is always excellent. The servers are very personable and they remember my order when I have you been here in a few months. That says a lot! I highly recommend coming here. I have brought many friends here and everybody I had brought here is raved about it and said it's the best that they have had. They do have to go but it's worth sitting in and dining because you get the egg drop soup with it which is fabulous. I love that are hot tea. The atmosphere is very nice it's cozy you can feel comfortable if you're just dining as one person or with many. It is always clean and well kept and very well designed and decorated. Really great food. I'm picky, we ordered the Tom Ka which was delicious one of the better ones I've had. I ordered the mild curry noodles which was chicken red curry and delicious. Wider noodles and I got spicy powder on the side so I could add to taste. The egg drop soup which is complementary for dine in was different and the best I've ever had. Umami bomb, but I don't like typically egg drop soup. We also got the peanut curry mild with steamed rice which was delicious. This place is extremely extremely affordable. Saw this place listed on Facebook. Waiter said they' d been there over two years. I'd never noticed it driving by. The food was amazing! They had lunch specials available until five pm. We got the most delicious egg drops soup, two yummy cream cheese stuffed wontons, giant sized shrimp-mine was sesame glazed, his was sweet and sour, a bunch of delicious fried rice, crunchy noodles and tea all for $12. K C has a very nice representation, and selection of Chinese, Thai, and mixed Asian fusion selections. Our party of four and one half really enjoyed our lunch yesterday. Three of us had the lunch special which included our entree, along with egg drop soup ( a little on the salty side) but tasty, two Crab Rangoon, and hot tea. They have two children's selections chicken nuggets with fries, or rice, or buttered egg noodles, and broccoli. The crab Rangoon were fresh tasting and fried perfectly, my daughter said the Tom Ka soup was very good, and her sesame chicken was the best that she ever had... M D W had vegetarian summer rolls with tofu which she liked, and said her chicken sate was grilled with the chicken very tender and flavorful. We were excited about picking up food to go at Kue's. It has gotten stellar reviews. We ordered the Egg Foo Young, Mongolian Beef and Szechuan Chicken, all dishes we have eaten many times at different restaurants. When I got home and opened the chicken, it has a strong strange smell, very off putting. It could be from something in there like some woody vegetable root. I took a bite of the chicken and it had no taste, but the smell over powered everything. The Mongolian beef had a very thin and runny sauce, but it was tasty. However, the beef was shaved and tough and looked like it had been boiled before putting it together in the dish. The Egg Foo Young was okay, not wonderful, but okay. The fried rice was okay too. It bothered me that two of the dishes were just not tasty and one of them smelled so strangely. I could hardly eat the beef dish as it was tough and had no taste. I decided to call the restaurant and ask the manager if we could get a refund or an exchange because we had just spent $44 for food that we did not want to eat. Her name is May. My husband called her and she absolutely refused to do anything for us. She said that was how they cooked the food for everyone. End of story. I have not written a negative report on any business for a long time, but because of her lack of caring for customer satisfaction, she earned it. Maybe some of their other dishes are good. To be fair, the veggies tasted okay, but the two dishes were terrible. Panda Express is far superior in taste and quality than this restaurant. read more

I ordered the sesame chicken and my wife ordered the Mongolian beef. She had no complaints (she's a picky eater) and neither did I. It's worth mentioning this place came highly recommended and we were not disappointed. What's extra cool is they offer a lunch or a dinner portion. Some places give you a hard eye roll when you ask for a "lunch" portion when it's 7:pm at night. I like having this option and I wish more restaurants would offer this choice! The food was very good along with the service. The restaurant is not very large but almost every seat was full so they were very busy. However the staff was quick and attentive despite having lots of customers. Especially Mike who was our server and I believe is also a co-owner. He was very charming and never dropped his smile. This place is great!! I'm sad it took us so long to try them. It's another place that's had rapid turnover in the past so we have driven by it many times without stopping. Huge mistake on my part! My super picky daughter told us it was really good. So, we decided to give them a shot. The first trip I had basil fried rice & hubby had red curry. We had crab wontons & the complimentary (dine in only) egg drop soup. I'm not big on egg but the broth was pretty good. The wontons were FABULOUS! We had dinner portions both with chicken. Our bill was $40 bucks. It's a large open dining room. Not fancy but clean & open. The staff were all very friendly & willing to get anything you ask for. I had zero complaints! We asked for carry out boxes & had lunch for 2 more days... a week later we decided to do carry out. They do not offer online ordering & I usually hate calling orders in but this time it was very easy. I didn't even have to repeat myself once. Everything was perfect. This time we ordered 2 egg rolls, 1 order crab wontons, 1 princess with chicken & 1 sweet & sour chicken. I asked for fried rice with my princess entree & it was no problem at all. None of that trying to nickel & dime you for different rice. The order was ready in 15 minutes & well packaged. This time we took it home to eat but everyone was still super nice & very prompt. I will say there are a lot of Asian restaurants in this area. Kue's is Chinese -Thai fusion. They offer a bit of both so there's plenty to choose from. You can choose to spice it up or keep it mild. If you enjoy a great meal with fresh veggies & great service then give them a try. I can't imagine anyone being disappointed here. We tend to do carry out more than dine in cause we don't want to sit in a restaurant & wait or deal with crowds. Kue's wasn't loud or slow so I'd definitely dine in again as well. This is officially our new favorite Asian restaurant in the area. Prices are also very reasonable. Dinner portions are between $14-$18 and each meal has been 3 meals for me. I had overheard someone talking about a place in Dunedin that served Almond Boneless Chicken. As someone who grew up in the Detroit area, it is very difficult to find that dish here in Florida, so I had to get some. My husband and I visited Kue's Cafe on a Friday night. It was very busy, and we had a bit of a wait for a table. There were also lots of people coming in to pick/up their carry-out. The restaurant has a red vibe with cool dragons decorating the walls, nice music playing to match the vibe, and our waiter was very friendly. We were seated in a booth, and I ordered a Sangria and my husband a beer. I of course ordered the Almond Boneless Chicken with white rice and egg drop soup. The Almond Boneless Chicken was a little different than I am used to. It had a lighter sauce and also contained vegetables which was a nice bonus. l really loved the egg drop soup. My husband ordered the Chef's Fried Rice with Chicken. His dish was really yummy and unique. It was a chicken fried rice with eggs, lots of veggies, pineapple and curry. I just love this place! Have to update my review because since my first review Ive had a GLUTEN INTOLERANCE diagnosis. Kue's offers a Gluten Free menu (you can find it on their page on Facebook) Ive tried 2 other dishes on it and didnt care for either. Mainly because nothing comes close to the Mongolian Beef dish that I LOVED! This time I decided to try the Pad Thai, add Fried Tofu, hold the peanuts. It was take-out so I didnt get a pic of the GF Menu, but there are about 15 options. Ive never had Pad Thai before so I cant offer a comparison, I can just say that it was good and I enjoyed it. It wont go down as my favorite Asian dish, but I enjoyed it and will order it again because I just love this little restaurant. The servers are always so friendly and helpful and clearly they enjoy their job! Food is always out quickly and exactly how it's ordered. The prices are quite reasonable. My husband enjoyed his fried calamari (oh I miss it!), and his Mongolian Beef (the BEST!), and my son enjoyed his Red Curry Shrimp. Sorry no pics of theirs. I added some chili crunch at home because I like spicy. Very nice place, run by very, very nice polite staff. Everyone works together so your dining experience is a memorable one. Their beef Lo-Mein is delicious and mild. Egg Foo Young is very different from what I'm used to. It is presented loaded with onions, peppers, mushrooms, and dark gravy. Hot and sour soup was over the top good you have the option to regulate the "heat" factor, I opt for mild which was just right for me. What a nice surprise finding Kue's. From the outside, the building looked like a diner from yesteryear. In fact from the outside it didn't even look open. Inside the place was clean, nice, & inviting. The waitress we had was super pleasant and did a great job. I ordered the Szechuan Tofu lunch special. I ordered it mild on the spice spectrum & it still had decent spice to it. The lunch special includes a cup of Egg Drop Soup that was delicious. It also came with 2 crab rangoons, a pot of tea, & the main entree. The food was all very good & fresh. Kue's has both Chinese & Thai food, so next time I will be trying their Thai. read more

Ive driven by here for years and never knew about this spot. I heard about it through a friend and I had to try it out. We normally get Chinese food at China wok which is very good and your typical Chinese take out. My sister was in town and we decided to stop in on a Saturday evening. They close at 9pm and we showed up at around 7:50. The place was packed. Thats always a good sign. Their decor is nice and the place is cozy. It smells wonderful in there with all the Asian foods being cooked. We were seated quickly. I ordered the spring rolls with shrimp and crab Rangoon for the table as appetizers. I wanted dumplings but they were out of them (bummer) . Crab Rangoon was awesome. The red sauce it comes with seemed better than the overly red dyed typical sauce that comes with them at the other Chinese spots. The spring rolls were really good and I liked the peanut sauce. For my main dish I got the szechuan beef with fried rice. It also comes with an eggdrop soup. The soup was different than your typical Chinese spot. Seemed more like a homemade flavor than the the same egg drop you get everywhere else. My fried rice was fantastic. I judge Chinese spots by their fried rice and this place passes with flying colors. My beef was slightly spicey and delicious. The beef was sliced thin and didn't have any nasty tendons or fat. The sauce was rich and flavorful. Plenty of veggies in the dish also. My sister and wife both ordered a Thai style fried rice which is a little sweeter than the Chinese style. They both loved it. The food was a hit! our service was great. The young man was extra helpful and explained everything well. Their menu is pretty big. They have all kinds of dishes.
