I usually do not post restaurant reviews. But to not do so would be criminal. Home Flavor is the best Chinese food that I've had here in Pinellas County, and at the top of the list for the best Chinese food I've had anywhere. All of the ingredients were fresh. Not just made fresh, but it's like they selected the most perfectly ripe vegetables for my dish. The sauces were flavorful, yet subtle. The egg roll was fried, but not greasy. The Szechuan Wontons were amazing! And I'm still not sure how they made the chicken in my dish so tender. It literally melts in your mouth. While I was dining, I expressed how wonderful the food was. The lady eating at the bar turned over and said, "I'm Chinese and from New York. This is the only Chinese restaurant I'll eat at around here." And then she raved about the spare ribs for a good five minutes. She practically tried to force feed me some. Don't let the store front or the simple decor fool you, Home Flavor is fantastic! I started hearing about this place on a social media site. Decided that I did not want to cook over the 4th holiday, so I ordered lots of items from Home Flavor. Every dish was five star. Fresh, lots of fresh chunky vegetables in the chow mien and the fried rice. Nothing was greasy or overly salty. The orange chicken was stellar with pieces of orange rind and mildly spicy. So yummy. Mongolian beef was lovely slices of top quality meat with no fat and again, mildly spicy. Even their rice was the highest quality and plenty of it. I'm so glad I tried this little place. The interior has what I might cautiously call a "lack of ambiance", however, the diners who were there were being beautifully taken care of and seemed happy with the service. My boyfriend and I dined in for the first time after hearing amazing reviews and we are so happy we did! Easily the best Chinese food both of us have ever had, I brought a takeout order for my dad as well and my whole family tried and agreed it is the best Chinese food that they have also had! We tried the orange chicken, Mongolian beef, sichuan fried green beans, egg rolls, beef lo mein, and they brought us out a complimentary eggplant in garlic sauce-which is something I don't think I'd typically order but was absolutely amazing and I will now reorder every time! Portion sizes are great and so are the prices. You can tell the food is cooked with quality ingredients, care, and by someone who is passionate about cooking! It is family owned and they are super sweet people. I now have a new go to restaurant and will recommend this place to everyone! read more

This is probably the best Chinese food in Largo, Florida or the surrounding area. It's a mom and Pop shop. Mom does the serving and pop does the cooking service was great only that but the food again was the best we've had in the Largo area. Amazing. Highly recommend recommended. read more

We have lived in Pinellas for 12+ years and have tried many Chinese food restaurants and basically gave up because they all fell short of actually being good until today. It is a small restaurant that is very clean and appears to be family operated. The parking is going to be an huge issue because there is not enough spaces for the strip center. That being said the food was freshly prepared and the servings were so large we had to take them home. The best Chinese food we have had in Pinellas and so much better than any other by far. Best Chinese I've had in a long time. From the appetizer menu I ordered the spring rolls and the Szechuan wontons. The spring rolls were standard, but had definitely just finished cooking as they were crispy and not soggy. The wontons were amazing. Definitely on the spicy side, but a nice treat. From the regular menu I ordered vegetable lo mein, sesame chicken, and Kung pao shrimp. The lo mein was out of this world. Very flavorful, a nice large portion even though I ordered the small size. I could've just eaten that and had my taste buds satisfied. The sesame chicken is good, but I've had better when I lived in other states. The kung Pao shrimp was delicious. Only three shrimp were included, but they are decent size. Overall I was definitely pleased and I will order from here again. read more

Decided to go to Home Favor because my usual restaurant only does take-away. From the reviews, I was just expecting a good, standard Chinese dinner. The location and interior do not suggest fancy. We ordered three items Chicken Lo Mein, Pepper steak with onions and Sweet and Sour Pork ribs. (With a new restaurant, I usually stick to some of the old standards.) Each dish completely exceeded our expectations. In addition to being tasty, they had flavor elevated above what can be found in the typical Chinese restaurant. Perfectly cooked noodles and vegetables, complex and tasty sauces and meat that is tender, juicy and full of flavor. Everything was very fresh and prepared to order. I had delivery of home flavor, entrées, and soups and everything was very good. Their steamed pork dumplings were absolutely delicious, as was pepper, steak and pork and potatoes. Mildly seasoned is hard to find especially in Chinese food and they did it very well. Everything was very fresh and I especially liked the egg drop wonton soup. It tasted so fresh! Awesome new authentic Chinese restaurant serving food from Northeastern China. The owners take great pride in the quality of the dishes they serve and the food comes out fresh, hot, and filled with love! They adjust the spice level to your preference so your spice cravings will surely be satisfied. We've mostly focused on the "Chef's Specials" but other diners said that the dishes on the main menu were outstanding! It's very nicely decorated with 3 large booths and 4 or 5 regular 4 tops so not huge. We've also done takeaway and everything was piping hot and delicious. I've only gotten takeout or delivery from this gem, but my expectations have been consistently exceeded with each visit! I typically get the Moo Goo Gai Pan, which is phenomenal but I tried the House Lo Mein recently and wow! It was delicious. I honestly do not like Chinese food, but Home Flavor has changed my mind. In an effort to cheer my wife up after leaving the nursing home we just moved her mom to I decided to take her for Chinese which she loves. Home Flavor was close and had good reviews so why not. That was a month and a half ago and we have been back 6 times and have ordered take out once. Every time has been great . We have both tried something different each time and never been disappointed . The food is okay, similar to other Chinese food in the area, and the employee that I talked to was great, he even brought my food out to me because I am a handicapped person who uses a wheelchair. He even made sure my order was customized to my needs. So all of that was great. But the parking lot isn't adequate for the types of businesses located there. A bar and a restaurant alone need more parking than what is there. For that alone it's dangerous and I won't go back. I'm not sure how business licenses went through for that location based on the types of businesses that are there. Maybe a hair salon where people make appointments and come and go, but not a tiny parking lot where there's a possibility of drunks leaving and possibly killing someone; not that a drunk person should ever drive, but hey, I'm realistic.
