Kung Poa chicken plate... this was after I already grabbed a lot of chicken off of it.

Definitely a mom & pops place and the food DID NOT disappoint! Huge portions on my take out order and prices are very well. Better than my spot down the street which I can't name. Lol. But I would definitely recommend this place to anyone

pretty solid food here. i paid like 9-10 bucks for a big plate of egg foo young, rice, and salt pepper pork or whatever it was. very good portions and cheap. but it did take a lil long to make even tho i ordered ahead. also it was mad hot in the building. had me dying but overall food was solid for the price

My coworkers and I came here for lunch the other day and meh. I'm definitely a happy takeout on MLK kind of gal but that wasn't close to us. This place was okay and filled me up. Unfortunately it missed the mark. The chicken chile good was minimal in comparison to what I'm used to from the many times I've ordered it at happy takeout. I'm used to the entire big compartment of the tray being filled with chicken onions and jalapeños this plate literally only had the chicken you see. Which for the price for value was pretty skimpy. The chow mein was just that noddles. Not many veggies to add and why were they orange. lol, now don't get me wrong the taste was good. The plate really just missed the mark with value and veggies. This place was a whole in the wall but clean and passed the mark

I got to try this place thru Door dash. I was very shocked that not only offered 3 choices for a combination plate, but also 3 sides. I tried the 3 combo plate with: Kung pao chicken, Mongolian beef, salt & pepper fish, Chow Mein and Fried Rice. The best items were Mongolian beef, chow Mein & fried rice. They give a lot of food for the price, so I think you get your money's worth. One thing I will have to say, is after eating, I felt so thirsty for the rest of the day. I don't know if it was MSG or the amount of salt (although I didn't think it tasted salty), but this was more than usual.

We recently moved to the area and asked a few neighbors for local take out suggestions. China Express came up a few times. And it was unanimous. Everyone said to order anything salt and pepper. And it did not disappoint. We decided to get takeout dinner on a Tuesday night arrived at the restaurant around 6 PM. The restaurant has a small dining room but everyone was ordering their food to go at this casual Chinese restaurant. There is a large menu on the wall and some ready-made food to create your favorite combo plate at the counter. We ordered à la carte Salt & Pepper Pork and Combination Chow Mein that the owner asked if I wanted spicy and of course I said yes! Both dishes were flavorful and steaming hot when I got the boxes home. We will definitely be back to try their other dishes. What do you recommend?

If you're old like me, you might remember this place when there was a Florin Mall. I'm so happy everything tastes exactly the same. If you're into salt and pepper food, the salt and pepper shrimp is delicious! They also have a variety of salt and pepper dishes! They give generous portions and the owner is always attentive and extremely kind.

It's really hard to find good Chinese food in the sac area but my sister has been hunting down a spot from our childhood and we think this is it. The restaurant looks pretty rough so we decided to order to go. We got two large spicy chicken chow mein and one large salt and pepper chicken. They PACKED those plates with food which I am extremely pleased with, the food was originally just meant for two but we ended up splitting it among three with tons of leftovers (see photos for leftovers)! The noodles taste extremely nostalgic of the noodles we had at Florin Mall as kids, except a lot spicier. The veggies were sparse as they typically are in this dish, but the flavor was really good. The chicken in the noodles was okay I honestly could've done without it. I wish I ordered non spicy though because the spicy noodles packed too much heat for me. The salt and pepper chicken was really crispy and perfectly cooked. The flavor was a savory explosion and paired really well with the noodles. This seems like a great food joint with locals frequenting it because of their amazing food and service. I will be back to try their other plates for sure.

The food is here is great! My go to order is the salt and pepper fish. Best salt and pepper in Sacramento! Don't worry about not getting enough food, they pack your plate! Always hot and fresh made to order. Service here is always great! Super friendly and always ask how you're doing. Never had a problem here. I would consider this a hidden gem in South Sacramento. Also, some of the best pricing too! Great price for the amount of food you get.

Part of a strip mall with other retailers and restaurants. Well, it was new to see so many signs posted about watch your cars as there's theft. A complete surprise to me. Guess in the area it a common thing. Anyway, the restaurant itself was decent in size. Plenty of parking available. Sunday and it was mellow in a sense. Still pretty busy but we didn't have to wait for a table. It's not your traditional Chinese dim sum restaurant with the carts walking down the aisle and you picking what you want. Here, they give you the menu and you mark down how many items you want. Both dim sum and traditional dishes are on there. Price wise, it's fairly decent but some dishes were a bit pricey compared to other places. Still worth checking out. Mark what you want on the menu which they then take and dishes are brought out. Of course we had to have the classic. Shu Mai and so on. Bbq pork slices, Chinese broccoli in oyster sauce, sticky rice in banana leaves, to name a few. The dim sum did come out pretty fast. Classic Chinese dishes like the chow fun did come out a little later as it had to be made. Overall, the food was quite tasty. I do see why my friends did recommend this place. It was a nice crowd of people that was here for brunch. Loads of family enjoying their meal. For our group, the bill came just under 300. They did include gratuities to it which they did inform us. We got a decent amount of dim sum as well as the other dishes. Food was good and service was great. All the staffs were very friendly and sweet. Drinks were refilled pretty fast after asking. Would definitely be back when we're in the area.

IDK how I went for so long without being obsessed with honey walnut shrimp. the green beans were delicious. even getting them takeout, they remained crispy. They were also well seasoned. It was a chilly garlic rather than just garlic, which I liked. normally I feel like garlic green beans are under seasoned, but these ones were well done, flavoring wise. The orange chicken was really good. It actually tasted like purposeful seasoning rather than just relying on the orange to carry it. I wish it was crispier, but it probably would've been had I ordered it in restaurant. I wish the chicken pieces were smaller, but that's my personal preference. The chicken was really good quality/ cuts of meat. No fat or weird textured pieces.

The good - my order was prepared quickly, and the amount of fish was very generous. The fish was tasty and spicy. The house chow mein that I also ordered had decent (read below) flavor. The bad - the salt and pepper fish had a great batter, but I feel they're battered too much, and the actual fish piece inside is tiny. My house chow mein didn't have a single shrimp in it. Lots of beef, which was good, but the char smell from the beef was the only thing you could taste on the noodles. It's almost like the chef cooked the noodles on whatever the beef was cooked on. The noodles we had ordered from here a month ago had very good flavor, but not a one note beef flavor. There was a lot of beef and chicken in the house chow mein, but zero shrimp means the cook either forgot or they didn't have them and thought it would be ok to add more beef. Either way, I paid extra for my selection, and didn't get it. Am I Pissy? Yes. Am I honest? Also a Yes. 3 stars this trip, probably my last.

Our table had nine people and they only provided 6 buns with our peking duck. I thought they didn't have enough steamer space and was going to bring more but nope. The shrimp in their salted egg pumpkin and shrimp dishes was overcooked and their deep fried pig intestines were extremely stinky. Their portion sizes downsized like crazy and it's so bad that we didn't even finish any of the dishes. The best dish was a stir fry cauliflower dish that I could make at home. It was supposed to come with pork, but I only saw itty bitty pieces of meat. The service was also super bad and slow.
