For the combo plate it comes with pork fried rice and an egg roll. The egg roll was super crispy and filled with mainly cabbages. Felt that it could use a bit more seasoning or served with a sauce for dipping. The Mongolian beef was delicious! Very flavorful. I also liked the fried rice too, which had really great wok flavor to it. Portions were great as we left with leftovers. I tried the orange chicken and it was really good, not overly battered and the chicken was tender. Perfectly crispy and coated with delicious sauce. I would definitely get either of them again. Eh, overall not really impressed. - Orange chicken: more soy sauce-y than orange-y. No crunch on the chicken, just sogginess. Chicken was kinda tough too. - Walnut shrimp: strangely very yellow lol did the cook add mustard? There was a slight tang, but maybe that could have been just from the mayo? Either way, at least the shrimp was plump. - Mixed vegetables: mainly the white part of bok choy, and the vegetables were drowned in cornstarch slurry. - House special fried rice: actually pretty decent fried rice! Not mushy at all and the beef pieces were very tender. Kinda funny how little bean sprouts there were in it lol looked more like a mixed-in garnish. We did a phone order for to-go pick up. Ordered the chicken chow mein, house special chow fun (dry/without gravy), and the salt/pepper shrimp. My boyfriend ate the chicken chow mein and said it needed more chicken. I enjoyed the salt/pepper shrimp and it's one of my favorites. The chow fun was okay to me. Order for 2 people came to 90.00. I don't mind paying for good food. But, Brandy chicken was bad. As in old and stinky. Husband got diarrhea that night and i didn't eat any. Next morning he ask me to smell it and it was BAD. That was 19.00 in the garbage. Rice was very dry. The food was not the same quality that I loved. The lady before me asked for extra sweet and sour sauce and they charged .50 each for the size of a ketchup from in and out. It should have been free for the price they now Charge. Been going here for the last 15 years portions have gone way down house chow mein and house fried rice had more vegetables then any of the meats they usually put in there dishes. The journey of seeking a good Chinese restaurant since moving from the bay area has been quite arduous. I found one, but it ain't definitely this one. The first positive thing I noticed was that there were lots of people there and they seemed to be enjoying their meal. I ended up getting, famous among yelpers, the salt and pepper boneless chicken. I hoped that it was worth the price. It looked great when I first looked at it and was looking forward to my first bite. It was nice and crispy with the right amount of peppers. What a huge let down. I noticed that the breading was very nice and fried just right. The part I didn't like was that the chicken itself, not the breading, lacked flavor. It was for sure white meat which is very rare for a Chinese spot and wasn't marinated long enough if at all. Maybe because they used white meat, the chicken was drier than it should be. I hope that is not normally how this dish is served. If it is, the standards of Sacramento Chinese food is very low. This is after the nice lady working there told me that "this is our famous salt and pepper chicken" I felt confident that I wasn't going to be disappointed. I definitely was after that first bite. I wanted to satisfy my craving, so I ended up making it at home the following day when I made the "madewithlau.com" version of with dark and marinated chicken meat. It was a hundred times better and so much cheaper. First, let me say I've been coming here for years. The owner is professional and accommodating. Ive been Ordering my egg fu Yung a particular way forever. It took awhile to get it right and owner remade it for me so here's a side note: If you're order is wrong you probably didn't order it correctly and if you omit or add anything it is a special order. I brought an ordering issue to their attention. The first older lady who took original order was very impatient and rushing, although there were only 2 tables and another lady was there helping. BEWARE OF THIS PLACE! While my wife was eating her beef and broccoli, she first found a bone mixed in her food. She was able to get over that and THEN bite into a piece of meat and pulls out a hair. We called the place and they offered to remake it. We then asked for a refund and they said they would need to see it before they can give a refund or remake anything. I drove back over there and showed them. They did not want to give me a refund because they claim they do not have bones there. Like WHAT?! I pushed the issue and they said since I didn't bring back the soup and egg roll that came with the plate they would only be able to give me $10 back. I ordered 7 orders expecting enough meat but I got 90% veggies and 10% meat.
