I'm going to give this 4.5/5.0 it was one of the better Chinese buffets in the DFW area. Wonton soup and hot and sour soups were both tasty, the crab Rangoon was actually cheese, but it wasn't soggy. The name "China Flag" certainly threw me off but my husband and I wanted to try this place out every time we drive by it. So we finally decided to give it a try for the first time and wasn't sure what to expect. We went during lunch time on Good Friday and we were very pleased that the place is nice, clean, not crowded, but the food was great, and the service was satisfactory. This is the best buffet restaurant I have ever been to. Do you like Sushi?????? All you can eat here, and the quality is amazing. The other entree tables are just chock full of great dishes, Plus a great Salad Station and a Genghis Grille area. The other buffet lines include great choices like Wings, pizza, fries, and all the other amazing Asian entrees that you can imagine. The service is great, and the price is very reasonable $14.00 for full price, but there is a small discount for seniors. The food is cooked fresh every few minutes, and replenished WELL before the pans are empty. The use very small, shallow pans, so that nothing is allowed to stay on the line too long. We as a family go out to eat a lot. My kids love a good Chinese buffet. Price is a bit high. I have an eleven year old girl and she eats like a bird , but was full price. Food was a little bit better than average. With such a high food turn over rate, it keeps the food nice and fresh. Most things seem very warm or even hot. The servers are nice. This was my first time to this Chinese buffet and it was pretty good! I tried several things but the honey chicken was my favorite. There was a really good selection from traditional Chinese food to sushi to chicken nuggets and some seafood options. Also a really big dessert table. First thing walking in is the environment and it definitely gives off Chinese which is a really good sign and the waitress are really nice and helpful. When I try some of the food though like the sesame chicken I notice that it was dry and unflavorful; other food thing the honey chicken and other food was decent or taste pretty good. Food was good, they had fresh beef and broccoli out all the time rice was always on deck and they had my favorite fried donuts! We took advantage of the hibachi bar it was delicious I would go lighter on the soy sauce next. The sushi bar didn't look appetizing to me. I didn't get the chance to take pics but I haven't eaten at a Chinese Buffet in many years so I was kinda excited. I wouldn't rate any of the food at a 5, well maybe the Hibachi station. The buffet stayed full and was beautiful. That got the 4 rating for me. The food was good but nothing off the charts. Just what I expected so I was good with it. Prices were great. They don't let the food get old and dried out either. I wasn't pleased with the Egg Rolls but the Crab puffs made up for them.. For a china buffet, has a lot to offer. None of the food is amazing, but the spread of options was impressive. You would not have to wait for your food, you could eat whenever and take as much as you want. My son and I frequent this place at least twice a month. You get great value for the price. They have a decent variety of items but I pretty much stick to my favorites..the honey chicken. Teriyaki chicken. Pepper chicken and spare ribs. They offer a Mongolian section which looks really good but have not tried it and they have a sushi section which I do not eat but for those that like it would enjoy. We used to go here regularly. But post covid we started having issues. I don't know if they are using old food, contaminated food or poor hygiene in the kitchen or food handling but the last 4 times it made atleast one of us sick. The last time was the only time that we both only had China flag and both of us felt we had food poisoning. So never again. I contacted the restaurant manager about it but nothing changed. China Flag is the best Chinese/sushi place for the money in the metroplex. We have never been disappointed by the food quality, cleanliness or service. I am very disappointed Th host quoted me $1.99 for won ton soup to carry out. I purchased two. She never stated there was a limit to the number of wontons to include in the soup, and I would have totally paid for it. What wasn't acceptable is she never counted them...( there were six in each), she looked at my bowls and took upon herself to charge my credit card an additional $3.00. I would have never know if it wasn't for the grand total of $15.00. She didn't give me the option todecline the soup nor did she inform me of her intent to charge my card. What would have been acceptable is to charge me what she quoted me and offer a next time suggestion. Not cool. Her response to my concern was each customer should add only up to 5 wontons. My concern is I didn't see that in writing nor was I told when Initially inquired of the price of the soup. Point? Don't cheat Americans by inventing prices as you go. I was a regular customer. One of the best buffets I've been to! Great selection of entrées, however the complaint I have is that when the the favs are gone it takes them an extraordinary long time to replenish them. For example the shrimp which is the main reason I come here. I've seen people waiting for it who buy to go plates over 30 minutes and eventually leave without.
