I regret not taking photos, we ordered our food for delivery, and I didn't even think to take pictures, but I just couldn't skip reviewing Ying Cafe. I had been craving combination fried rice all day, so I hopped on Door Dash and looked for what I had a mental picture floating around in my head all day. Funny thing is, we have a "usual" place we order Chinese food from, but their fried rice, wasn't what I was desiring. As I scanned the different restaurants I found that Ying's fried rice looked like what my brain was craving! This was our first time ordering but won't be the last, I of course got the combination fried rice, which was delicious, all the proteins I had hoped for and fresh, crisp vegetables. The flavor was exactly what I wanted! Hubs got Chicken fried rice and he ate almost the whole container lol, we both are the type that can make two meals off of a fried rice. The portions were large, and piping hot, the oblong black containers with the clear lid. My brother ordered Garlic Shrimp, and he truly enjoyed it, the next day he told me it was the best Chinese food he'd had since moving here about 3 years ago! We will definitely order again, and when we do I will try to remember to take photos! read more

I gave Ying a very low rating 6 years ago, and because I can't delete or revise my former review I will write another. While the looks of this restaurant haven't changed, the cleanliness factor and taste of the food has completely improved! Our dishes were hot, flavorful, fresh with generous portions. First thing said (most unloved from Texas BUT been here 8 years) I'm from CA. Most Chinese places only have steamed pork in their food. THIS PLACE HAS BBQ PORK!!! Note: ask for it or your dish will be steamed. No extra cost for the better pork either! I've never eaten here but I've ordered for delivery and many times they call and make adjustments in price to LOWER it based on my requests. AMAZING! My wife and I have been going here for quite a while. I have tried multiple items on their menu and have always been pleased by the taste and the amount. The place may not be very fancy, but their food is good. My wife especially likes their Poopoo platter. Their BBQ ribs on the platter are really good. My wife really liked the homemade BBQ sauce. It is family run and they are very friendly. My wife is very picky as to where she will go out to eat, but I usually don't have to do too much convincing to get her to go here. I have tried their Moshu pork, beef and snow pees, sweet and sour shrimp and a few others and have not been disappointed yet. This is what many would call a hole in the wall gem of a restaurant, not very fancy, but great food. What would you rather have, fancy interior or great food. My husband had seen this place while driving to work and wanted to try it. Good was very good! Not overly salted like most places. We had the egg drop soup and it was delicious! We also had the Orange Chicken with steamed rice and the Beef with Broccoli with fried rice. Both dishes are very flavorful and there was enough to take home to have later. Well dang, the first two reviews that popped up for me where from fellow Yelp elite buddies that rates it highly (but we're several years old)... One table was filled with kids toys and the other with..junk basically. There were hand written sign saying "No talking loudly " which was interesting because it was completely empty..I'm curious as to how rowdy this place gets? Anyways, the lady seemed nice and went over my order to make sure it was correct. I ordered Wonton soup for 2, Crab Rangoon and Take Out combo with orange chicken, beef and broccoli, rice and it came with a beef egg roll. The soup was exactly what I wanted. A lot of places get wonton soup wrong in my opinion but I LOVED it. Best wonton soup I've had since leaving California. Lots of fresh veggies and the wontons tasted awesome. Crab Rangoon's weren't anything special. A bit chewy and I didn't taste any crab, only cream cheese..and they only have me sweet and sour sauce to dip it in, I much prefer plum sauce. My husband ate the combo, his only complaint was the orange chicken was mostly breading. The price was $25.33 which seemed alright to me. I will come back if I'm in the area and/or craving wonton soup. They gladly add shrimp to my wonton soup, now to see if they will add bbq pork too next time then I'll be in heaven! read more

First time back in a number of years. Still looks the same. Not in a bad way. It was nice and clean. Waitress was very nice and kept up with water and checking on us. I had Moo Goo Gai Pan, my wife had Broccoli Chicken. Mine was ok but overall just ok. Wife said her's was very good. I tasted it and it was very good. She did ask for white sauce instead of the brown which is what it comes with. Affordable lunch at 8.50 a plate. I'll go back but will get another dish. Overall its worth a visit. read more

Service sucks from them not wanting to take a to go order over the phone even thought I was willing to pay as well over the phone. Apparently even thou I explained my situation I livev3 doors down and can be there in 5 min to pick up they refused as I care for my elderly parent and daughter was sick as well. They def lost business with me. Last time I was in there it smelt of sewage so I'm sure it hasn't changed either. Tangs is a much better option, and will get all my business. I have to say I used to enjoy coming here and getting egg fu yung. That might be the only thing on the menu that worth eating - aside from the bean curd dishes. I am finishing eating a sampling of dishes and they are just either blech or bad. Spare ribs that require a lot of strength to remove the meat, strong flavored chicken wontons in chili sauce, curry chicken that is ok. I am praying I do not pay for eating here later. This is my last time coming here unless something dramatically changes. The menu selection is good, in theory, but execution is poor. You would be safer going to Panda Express where the food is safe and relatively flavorful. read more

We were pleasantly surprised upon a recent stop at Ying Café. While the menu choices are similar, there is definitely a freshness about the items, and the lunch menu is a great value! I'm glad that I didn't read some of the other more recent reviews of this place before ordering, or I might not have! After my favorite Chinese place stopped doing online ordering, I needed to branch out. I know it's easy to call somewhere, but I find that it's better if I can order online so I can have my exact order written down just in case there is a problem. I was so thrilled to see that Ying Cafe does online ordering! I ordered the orange chicken for myself and the chicken fried rice for my boyfriend. (He is not really a fan of Chinese food, but is a fan of delivery, so there is a compromise!) We also ordered the crab rangoons and some egg rolls. The food was supposed to take an hour to get to us. It didn't take an hour. Within 30 minutes, we had our meals and were happily munching away, and never had to put on real pants. My orange chicken was quite good! A nice hint of spice and the orange sauce was yum. The fried rice that came with it was a little bland, but soy and chili sauce fixed that up. The chicken fried rice was also good, but again, it needed some soy and chili sauce. I liked the rangoons but they were just this side of too chewy. I will say that the meals could have been a little more hot, temperature wise, but it's really freakin' cold today (25 degrees!) so I'm going to give that a pass. Now for the price, I do think we expected the portions to be a touch bigger than they were. I think we were a bit spoiled from the restaurant we used most often. It was just over $30 for all that we ordered. But I definitely got 2 servings worth from my meal, so I'm not going to complain too much. All in all, I think this place was decent, and we will probably order from here again. read more

Since I had a better experience at another place today I thought I should give this place a review based on my one time experience about a year ago. It was bad and from what I read it had undergone a change in ownership. That can happen and sometime it can either improve a place or send it down. Patty had been there before but it had been quite some time ago. This was my first and last time. I had a very strange rendition of Egg Foo Young that was so bad I left half of it there.
