I notice there are inconsistent reviews of this place so let me try to break it down. The owners here are very nice; but certain dishes are better than others. This may be due to the fact that the cooks are Hispanic ...not Chinese. Anyway, here goes: 1.) Whenever I go to a Chinese restaurant, I usually get the house special wonton soup, which in my opinion is a good barometer of the quality of the particular restaurant; here they serve it different than any place I've ever been, and it's horrid. The meat and vegetables are chopped up into tiny, little squares, like the size of chopped carrots in a generic frozen bag, and the broth seems like water with egg whites. As well, the portion size (the soup normally serves two people) is horrendously small, though after tasting the soup, you might be glad about this... ; 2.) Each time we've been, our meals never come out at the same time (5 minutes apart even!), and the appetizer is served with the meal or even afterward; 3.) The rice portion that comes with any meal is super-small so we always have to ask for more rice...; 4.) The shrimp (unless batter fried) are usually mushy, which I hate... because I love shrimp, but their texture here just grosses me out... I will say their Mongolian beef is great, as is the pepper steak... (served with p-l-e-n-t-y of fresh, green peppers... Hispanic style....). The ambiance is nice. Sushi is OK. All in all it's a consistent place to get a quick and reliable bite. I just won't ever order any of their soups, non-batter-fried shrimp (I hate batter), or chicken dishes. Good luck! read more

This review is not for food but for the covid practices here. I came here to pickup my takeout order (inside) and the employee was not wearing a mask. When I asked about it, the response was that she wasn't wearing a mask because she was going between the kitchen and register. I can't say enough about this place. The food is awesome. It is a hidden gem in Charles town because there are very few places to eat that are actually good in this town. I was really hoping for a good chinese restaurant experience unfortunately it was not delivered. The interior is very nice and well done. The service was okay. The girl seemed inexperienced and didn't know the beers on tap or the ingredients in menu items. The egg drop soup was the consistency of pudding. The sesame chicken was mainly batter and didnt have the flavor I was hoping for. The crab rangoon was good very cheesy. The fried dumplings were very doughy. The Blue Moon beer tasted like iron. This is truly the ONLY place I will ever get Chinese food from. They are always so sweet and friendly. Orders come out very quick (even the nights we spend $80 here) it's ready to go in 15-20 minutes. They've never messed up any of our orders, no matter how large or small. They are a little on the pricier side of things but they give large portions so you get the bang for your bucks! read more

The string beans were soaked in sweet tangy sauce, so it was not what I expected at all. The lobster was super hard to swallow, as if it were frozen for a week. What is it about West Virginia and their fetish with dousing things in heavy sauce? It's as if the natural, organic thing itself is never good enough. The only real redeeming quality of this place was that it was close by and the servers were pleasant. Used to be very good when they were located on George Street, but very disappointed in the food during last couple of visits, most recently in Dec 2018. Beef was so tough and was not edible. Another guest had Kung Pao chicken, there was hardly any chicken. The dish was 90% filler, little white squares, bamboo I believe the waitress said. I finally got a chance to eat in the new location, fabulous! I love the sushi and sashimi the tobiko(flying fish eggs)snaps and pops like it should. Spreading joy all though my mouth. I don't really eat the fried or breaded items but the orange sesame pork and chicken are very well prepared. You can eat it with chop sticks with ease and it won't smear sauce on your face. So tender, soft and dreamy pure goodness. The only thing that was a little bit annoying was the television set in the dining room. Once a year, to celebrate the Chinese New Year they have a buffet. Went a previous time and was impressed with the food. The buffet was excellent, the sushi was even better. This place is bad even by Americanized Chinese standards. We ordered 4 dishes for takeout: Family bean curd, Combination egg foo young, Combination chow mein, Crispy beef and Combination sizziling rice soup. The only dish that was remotely acceptable was the Crispy beef dish. With the exception of the Crispy beef dish, none of the dishes had any flavor whatsoever we had to put Maggi sauce on everything. The egg foo young gravy had solidified into jello by the time we got it home and it was barely 15 minutes after we picked up our order from the restaurant (we had waited about 5 mins inside the restaurant for our order so it wasn't like it had been sitting there and had time to cool). The sizziling rice had no flavor and we recieved only a partial handful of crushed rice similar to loose Rice Krispies. The funniest/irritating part of our order was the chow mein didn't come with any noodles. What kind of chow mein dish doesn't come with noodles, i mean isn't that the essence of the dish??? What's even more subpar is ordering take out and having it sit on the counter while the employee has her social hour at the counter as if she's at her home.
