Finally.. a restaurant that doesn't sweeten their jjajangmyun Very spacious restaurant with lots of parking available. All staff was very attentive. I was very skeptical of their spicy jjajangmyun thinking how could thai chilis make it taste good? oh boy was I wrong to assume It was 10/10. I have never finished a dish of black bean noodles because of how sweet everyone makes it. Not Chef Fung Mei! They did an amazing job and I know I'll be back for my next craving. My husband really enjoyed his jjamppong (spicy seafood noodle). To be honest it wasn't all the rave. it was decent but we definitely had better. However, it wasn't horrible either. The sweet fried pork was probably our least favorite dish. It wasn't bad! but it was just very basic. I like when restaurants use the mochi type of batter to make it more crispy yet chewy. Not the same Fung Mei that served reused kimchi that I experienced before; at least that last venture produced something edible lol. Not good - a good decade or two behind what the other Kor-Chinese joints offer, and they are not even that great either. Noodles were soggy with no depth, beef/pork that came in with noodles (jjm) and dishes (tsy) were tough and smelled old. Dry jjm was not dry-fried but wet and soggy. Not tryna be too critical, but restaurants should be graded and supported with what it delivers ultimately bringing to what the clients want and expect to receive. Good luck. read more

Ordered delivery from here a couple of times and I genuinely enjoy it every time. This isn't the best Chinese place you will ever have but it's pretty good. So this restaurant used to be in Doraville, then on Pleasant Hill Road in Duluth and now in Suwanee on Lawrenceville-Suwanee Road. I went here with the folks and ordered a few dishes. We had Jjajangmyun (noodles with black bean sauce), Jjampong (spicy seafood noodle soup), Sauteed Green Beans and Mapo tofu. I only had a bite of my dad's Jjajangmyun but it was pretty tasty - sweet and savory. My mom's Jjampong was good, not great. To be honest, the Jjampong inside of the restaurant in Mega Mart is the best I've had. The noodles in both dishes were chewy and the perfect consistency. The portion sizes are big enough for everyone to share and get a bite. The green beans were really good! They were not overcooked and still had a good snap. The Mapo Tofu was also tasty. It was probably the best I've had here in Georgia. (The best I've had was in NY) The waitresses were so kind and patient. They even gave us boiled dumplings as "service" - an unexpected freebie. This was one of the few restaurants my dad didn't say he wouldn't return to. Usually he says "this restaurant doesn't warrant a 2nd visit". Prices are average. I can't wait to go back and try some other dishes. Mapo tofu and green beans alone are definitely worth going back for! Yum! The restaurant is very casual and is open. It's a very nice space and the seats are comfortable. Nothing to complain about. Give it a go! I know some people said the food was bad. I wonder if the chef changes depending on the day. A solid Chinese restaurant in the Suwanee area. The place is spacious with plenty of seating. The servers were friendly and food came out very quickly. Not the most authentic Chinese food but everything I had was tasty. My favorite was the shrimp with garlic sauce. The sweet and sour pork and the cha chang mein were a bit bland in my opinion but still good. The portions are small compared to other Chinese fusion restaurants. Came here for the 짜장면... This is the worst jajangmyun that I've had in Georgia so far. Flavorless, super oily, and barely and meat. No pickles were included, just bland overcooked noodles and sauce. Did I not get the memo? Will try some other dishes next time, but someone said this is a Korean style Chinese restaurant, so I ordered a classic dish. Did a take out delivery. Food portion was great. I ordered a few black bean noodles aka Jjajangmyeon. They give a little of noodles and that's always plus. Unfortunately, it was mid for me. When there were at the Duluth location it was so good. The owners might be the same at Suwannee location but the cooks are different obviously. The Jjajangmyeon was bland. I mean very bland. No flavor. The part we all agreed on was the sauce tasted off. It didn't taste fresh. Like it was made days ago? Reason why I say this is because the beef in the sauce was hard and resembled dehydrated beef jerky bits. It also tasted old. I don't know what happened but it's not the same Jjajangmyeon as the Duluth location unfortunately. It also unfortunate that the Duluth location closed down. I will not be back. And they are BACK!!!! The fourth time is the best time? ATL OGs have been eating here since the first location - a hole in the wall Chinese place on Buford hwy for a reason. And I'm not talking about the fancy two story place on Buford hwy. First off this is Chinese-Korean food so it's not what you'd find everywhere. Try the spicy spinach tofu but ask for EXTRA spicy!!!! It won't taste right unless you get it EXTRA spicy!!!!!! Order the snow pea leaves to dip in the extra spicy sauce and it's a bonus dish. Bro just trust me in this. The pan fried dumplings will probably come out last but trust me it's worth it. Get it!!! The rest of the food is status quo - fried rice is solid not oily or wet which should be the way it comes out everywhere but doesn't. The hot and sour soup is excellent here as well. The seafood pan fried noodles aren't great. Veggies are cooked well but the rest of it is forgettable. Service is impeccable but maybe it's cause they just opened. The ambience is solid and what you'd expect - more like the second Buford highway location than the one on Pleasant Hill. It's a little easier to get to since it's right off the highway. Fung Mei. They used to operate out of a place that was just off Pleasant hill by the LA Fitness. Then they moved up to Suwanee but still held to their Chinese Korean roots as they bought out another Chinese restaurant that used to operate there. Suffice to say, it's rather odd to suggest that the owners who used to own Ching Mei that was off Steve Reynolds are also the ones who own this place because there is a night and day difference in the recipes between Fung Mei and Ching Mei but now that Ching Mei is gone, we have Fung Mei. And in my opinion, I'm not too happy about that as Ching Mei was the BOMB!!! So let's talk about Fung Mei. The interior is spacious! Well lit. Ample seating areas with a banquet area near the back. They have a bar and another whole half of the place by the bar area so this place is huge in terms of seating. The service is rather basic. Quick, courteous, professional, and friendly. Nothing quite so above and beyond but well worth noting that they give basic restaurant service. So let's talk food. Like any Chinese Korean joint, it's the JaJjangMyun and the Tangshooyook that sets the standard for me. First off, their prices are comparable to many other Chinese Korean joints in the area. Apparently the sweet and sour pork is an actual entree so they will give you rice with the pork. Which, is whatever. That's not how most Chinese Korean places operate but here it does so you're ordering two entrees essentially. The pork. Well... suffice to say, I'm not really that impressed with it. The dish looked overdone. The breading was brown, overcooked, and didn't have a crisp to it like it should. It also, didn't seem like they used starch in their breading. I might be wrong but didn't fry up the way rice flour tends to fry when you get tangshooyook. The noodle dish. In terms of flavor, it's very flavorful. Deep, rich, homey, the sauce clung to the noodles making each taste very flavorful. I will say, I ordered the minced pork version and suffice to say, I was hoping for a healthy smattering of pork meat but I did not have that. Just maybe 10 crumbles of ground pork which was a thorough disappointed considering I dropped $14 for the noodles. Overall, Fung Mei is decent. Not bad. But that great either. It'll be a great party place to go to if you're into basic Chinese Korean fare. But there are better options for sure. read more

Ordered all 3 dishes spicy and turned out to be totally blend with no flavor. Ambience is better since it opened up as a new restaurant from the previous one. Hot tea was Jasmine flavored which they did not mention so did not realize until we were actually drinking it. Not my kind of Chinese tea. The service is good and the food came too fast for my likening cos it felt like it was already made. Not sure I will come back again and disappointed in general. Total disappointment. We were excited that old Fung Mei was coming back but we couldn't have been more wrong! I should have checked the reviews before we went. It was not even close to the old Fung Mei. The Menu was very simple and not many dishes that a Chinese place would have. We ordered Seafood Jjajangmen and Assorted Seafood with Rice and just couldn't finished them. No tastes!! Literally, they had no taste like the Chef forgot to put any seasoning. Awesome Chinese recently relocated to Suwanee. I lived in Beijing many years- this mostly Northern style is excellent. The presentation and service were top notch. The noodles made in-house and are the best. Pictured is Hunan beef, spicy jiajiang noodles, and yuxiang eggplant. Less Americanized but they dial back the flavor a bit. They have up to 200 seats and their menu is very good. They have an excellent menu for a Chinese food and they have a lot of different things that you can order. Of course that's additional cost anything else like but there they have very reasonable prices for lunch around $10 and then for dinner. The prices can go from some around $10 to , more than $16. A very disappointing first visit to this much anticipated restaurant. The. The cuisine is Chinese American and also Korean- Chinese. The food was very bland-No Seasoning. The sauces were tasteless. Their version of the Jajang mein which is the very basic of the Korean-Chinese food was tasteless. The JamBong, which is the noodle soup version of the hot-spicy chinese mkorean food was tasteless and very bland. We ordered a spicy chicken dish which was full of bones in every bite. The manager came by the table and offered to recook the dish with the boneless chicken version. That has no taste at all. There was another restaurant that had opened in the main strip mall, Hong Ban Jang, there was a lease conflict and ended up closing. Their food was so much better. Service was good. Old waitress from the original store was very friendly. The old owner couldn't careless if we came in. He just walked by nonchalantly and didn't bother to make contact with any dinners. The food was the reason this is one star. Jambang seafood noodle soup tasted like spicy hot water with absolutely no flavoring. Dumpliing was okay but not like the old Feng Mei. It has some pork smell from the fillings. We also ordered the Kang pai chicken and it had been cooked with any flavors soaked into the meat. Tasted like deep fried chicken with sauce poured over the chicken. We drove from Marietta with hope this will be 50% of the old Feng Mei and left very disappointed. It's about 20% of the old Fend Mei at best.
